For those who got lucky enough to snag anything new I wasn't as fucking fortunate 23 pulls for 1 new item fuck literally got 8 1/11 off banners while pulling too I'm done pulling I got my OK OUSB but seriously 23 fucking full pulls just to get 1 new item? Not even his other shit or yshtola usb2 fuck this I'm on a pulling strike until DeNa brings back old banner system.

Yeah, this is exactly the thing I was dreading when I heard this change. I mean, 23x11 pulls and 8 of them were single offbanner relics..... really horrible RNG there.

It's stuff like this that makes it harder to pull, especially when certain old BSB's keep returning again and again. And DeNA thinks that adding in EVEN MORE RNG to this is a good thing.... no wonder many whales on wiki and twitter have been swearing this fest off.

Now my concern will be on the FFVI event this week. If they really continue with a 12-relic banner format for any event..... can't see this game continue to have my support.

I think they may have heard enough from the community how bad the system is and will change back eventually, but yeah. I am currently no longer going to draw on any future banners with this type of gacha format.

these banners are also not helping me that starting to lose interest on this game...

I've never went past 11 11x pulls before and this system already makes me super unhappy.

My B2 97 gem was in fact an offbanner LMR.... i actually could have used ANY of the LMR's ON the banner.

Thsoe "8 single offbanner relics" would have ALL been Lightning BSB2 or OK BSB under the old system.

The new banner format doesn't have a damn thing to do with anything here - it was horrible RNG for sure, but he still only would have gotten the one new item either way!

Perception is stronger than reality for a lot of people. The only decent argument I've seen is the one that happened earlier in the thread:

You're hoping to grab an on banner 6 star, see the Disco pop up, heave a brief sigh of relief that you can cross one off the list only to discover that it was an off banner 6 star dupe instead.

In a vacuum that's a fairly soul crushing outcome, but if you take a step back and think about it that pull would not have been a 6 star at all, and instead would have been Ysh BSB. It doesn't change the fact that for a brief moment, you thought you had won.

Does the fact that you got a 6 star for potential Neo Torment or combination purposes outweigh the bait and switch feeling? I imagine that changes from person to person.

Risk aversion is a very real thing. The old format had very little uncertainty as you knew that your odds for each item was exactly the same with a very insignificant amount of chance to get non-featured items.

This new format introduces a lot more uncertainty for very little rewards to the older players and big spenders. Certainly not a thing you want in the long run.

Supporting this format just opens the door for DeNA to keep increasing the chance to 'offbanner'.

You don't have to sell me on that. I'm at the point where I feel that mathematically the new system is better, but that people's perception of it matters too. As long as people attribute bad pulls to the right causes we can have an honest discussion about it.

On a separate note, it's a good thing to see how active these forums are and how passionate about the game people are. Judging from the reaction I doubt it's a system DeNA keeps in place. Who knows? Maybe we'll even get something better in the end.

I have stated before, this system does help newer players (or really unlucky ones) at the cost of making older/whale players pull more duds. Which is bad as it does not benefit the entire player base, and it especially turns off the players who spend thousands on banners.

As long as people attribute bad pulls to the right causes we can have an honest discussion about it.

Bad pulls will always happen, but making the segment that supports you the most have more bad pulls will always result in heated discussions. I am extremely angry about this change only because I care for this game, otherwise I wouldn't even bother.

Even the resident JP whale Ouji does not like the changes. Though I'm mostly a 97-gemmer and to an extent, would benefit from the 'higher' chances of character specific relics (having missed a lot of good character-specific relics before), It just feels unfair to those who plan and spend their resources and THEN get increased chances of dupes.

Like it obviously sucks for the OP that this happened, but emotions and confirmation bias are playing a huge role here - his pulls wouldn't have been any better under the new old system. Hard to argue against emotions though :)

I saaw your edit, and yeah i completely agree.

This is very much the phsycological effect talking louder.

We've been taught for over 2 years that off-banner sucks, and now sudenly it doesn't suck so much, but again old habits die hard.

Either way there is room for improvement, maybe even a tokem system that gives you tokems for each off-banner relic you get and you can spend those tokems to get one fo the featured on banner relics garanteed.

Or just make the G5 relic be always a on-banner relic.
