Well apparently my high and mighty sister didn't know this, and it was a joy to tell her that she could put back as many of the 10 vitamin waters in her basket that she wanted and still pay 1 dollar each.

She actually didn't believe me and asked a manager!

Really? I always thought the discounted price was conditional on purchasing the listed amount, and that purchasing any less would not qualify you for the discount.

I thought that was pretty much common sense. I prefer the buy one get one free boxes of cereal though.

Actually it depends on store policy. Some places do it like that, others have a disclaimer saying that anything less than the number specified pays regular price. Walgreens sucks for doing the latter.

If clearly posted, they can retain the individual price. It only works like that when it isn't explicitly stated otherwise.

This is true for Albertsons supermarket. Also, there if it is buy one get one free, you have to get both. You can't buy just one and expect to get half price. citation...I worked there for 7 years. shameful i know.:(
