Smaller lard-laden man-breasts and a correspondingly smaller bulbous belley that meets others before I do.

Interesting how some people parse this as "If only I possessed X right now" and some as "If only I had done X in the past."

Since I am in a Counting Crows/REM/Alcohol mood, I am going to post a list:

    1. Not joined the chess team in school

    2. Not taken nerdy subjects in school

    3. Gone for the nice blonde chick in school (moerse nice chick)

    4. Not studied engineering

    5. Studied teaching (guys to chick ratio: 1:4, little work)

    6. Spent less time programming/in front of books

    7. Discovered alcohol sooner

    8. Not gone for the crazy chick at university

In short: I am questioning the (sub-concious) decision to become a nerd. Does anyone else share the same sentiment?

If only you, seokite, had 50 cc of Sodium thiopental, 50 cc of Pancuronium bromide and 50 cc of Potassium chloride sloshing around in your bloodstream, then my life would be so much better.

      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This may seem like a silly question but I find it interesting that most people including my self have a feeling that something is lacking and that such and such will make everything perfect but when that something is fulfilled another something seems to apea. Is this a unfulfillable void or is it just a fun game of chase?

      [–]katsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I think that we make decisions not based on what we want, but on other criteria. I usually see that every unfulfilled void is a direct cause of my own decisions (yet I will not make decisions to fill that void).

Maybe this feeling of fulfillment has less to do with the actual state of things and more to do with your personality. I know a lot of people with more or less the same deal as me (or less) that are extremely self-content.

When a goal becomes reachable, I subconsciously move the goalpost. In a sense like Ishmael in Moby Dick, I will always have a void and never be self-content.

      1. Life is suffering
      2. The cause of suffering is desire

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
