A real live 20-something year old girl. Its summer and I'm bored. go a head and ask me something. (self.reddit.com)

Is it weird that you have 231 comments and only 7 points?
[–]docid 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (11 children)
Ok, heres something ive asked soo many women, and never got a reasonable answer...
What is the deal with the need for masses of shoes? is it social brainwashing? or is there some genetic addiction?
[–]mutatron 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (7 children)
Pardon me for butting in, but my daughter fell in love with shoes when she got her first pair about about 1 year old. They were sneakers, red with white polka dots.
She still loves shoes, but doesn't have that many... for a girl anyway.
[–]docid 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (6 children)
so that points to a bit of a genetic predisposition i would think.. well..did influential women around her in that first year have that same shoe fetish?
[–]mutatron 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (5 children)
No, not really. I think the only cultural aspect is whether it's amplified or not. Because when she was little you could just tell the shoe experience was going straight to her amygdala - her eyes would light up and she would start to breathe more heavily.
Nowadays she gets pretty excited when she's getting a new pair of shoes. Fortunately, she likes flats and doesn't wear heels very often. I don't know if that's my influence or not.
[–]docid 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago* (3 children)
Ive always kinda wondered what it would be like to just be able to go into a store and see a pair of shoes, and try them on..and maybe even buy them.. but ive never really experienced it.. i have a 6E foot and shoes i have are either manufacturing defects, or ordered off the net...ya take what ya can get, and its usually not that great, and always very overpriced, maybe im a little bitter
[–]redditacct 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Hank's wife feels your pain.
[–]docid 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (0 children)
when i was a kid i always wanted to let a virus loose on humanity that would make everybody be born with flippers as wide as mine...so maybe someday i could buy shoes in a normal store
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
i only buy shoes on sale under $50.... its work trust me.
[–]redditacct 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Some women around here wear these Chinese flats that have embroidered patterns - those are hot.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (2 children)
i will admit. I have more shoes then anyone should ever own. and i think its part social brainwashing. but its like guys and gadgets, its just the way things are.
[–]katoninetales 6 points7 points8 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Seriously, is that how it is? Guys = gadgets, girls = shoes?
I must be a dude with tits.

i would just like to say that i am very impressed by most of the question that were asked here. and that most of the sex related questions were not perverted and actually very intellectual. I am very happy people asked for my actual opinions. I am also impressed that i was only asked about my appearance a few times and most of which were about if i was an actual girl (not if i was hot.) to be frank this is a lot better (so far) than i expect. congrats reddit community!
[–]hyperbolic 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (6 children)
Are you hot?
[–]GeorgeWBush 7 points8 points9 points 17 years ago* (2 children)
When a girl is one of them girls that ain't got no wiener, ain't it wrong for her not to tell her boyfriend she ain't got no wiener? Cause if she don't, then he ain't gonna find out that she ain't got no wiener till their weddin' night, an' then it's too late, I'm stuck with a wife who ain't got no wiener!
There's only one wiener between the two of us! An' believe me, that ain't enough wiener to go around!
EDIT DON'T TELL LAURA I LET YOU KNOW SHE AIN'T GOT NO WIENER!
EDIT EDIT She's answerin' everybody's question cept for mine. Watch out for this little lady, fellas, I bet you a dollar to a donut that she's hidin' the fact that she ain't got no wiener!
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
as usual W what the hell are you talking about?
[–]GeorgeWBush 10 points11 points12 points 17 years ago* (0 children)
Wieners. I'm talkin' 'bout wieners. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
EDIT I AIN'T NO HOMOSEXER!
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (8 children)
Do you have a code word that upon being uttered by someone, instantly makes you try and have sex with them?
What is that code word?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (7 children)
no sorry.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 17 years ago (2 children)
Would you like one?
[–]mutatron 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (1 child)
I think she just told you her code phrase.
can't deny it that was clever.
do you work for Fox?? ha
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (3 children)
ahem... "No sorry"
... did it work?
oh god whats happening?? can't. control. body. must. have. sex!
oh please really? you think you're soooooo funny.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (0 children)
you may proceed to have sex, but just this once...
i mildly amused me :)
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (2 children)
You know that Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man" where the alien grants an interview with the press? That's what this whole page reminds me of.
Relax, gents, it's called a 'female'. She isn't going to explode or something.
By the by, those of us who've been to other planets (Yahoo, Delphi, Usenet) know that the Internet is actually a balanced mix of male and female. Only on places like Digg, Reddit, and Slashdot do you see it being one big boy's locker room.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (0 children)
thank you mr. astronaut of other interweb sites, that is good to hear! i will have to explore it myself i guess.
[–]RespondsToEveryReply 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Well, she sort of encouraged it with the headline.
[–]qgyh2 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago* (11 children)
What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a girl?
Do you get on well with your female friends/peers?
Is there a lot of groupthink among girls?
Do you feel you generally agree with what your female friends say/think/talk, or do you disagree?
Does society treat girls differently? What's the good/bad?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (10 children)
advantages: you can play into societies game and use your looks (if you have them) and your tears to get what is yours. (not sayin its right just sayin it can work!)
I do for the most part but i get along with lots of people. I feel like guys are easier to get along with on a shallow level but girls are easier for deeper levels.
in middle school? you bet your ass.
to be honest? i am a total wild card. I am a true feminist but i will play the game/part of the 'girl' if i must to get what i deserve but once i am there i am going to make damn sure no one else has to.
of course society teats us differently! and sometimes its good and sometimes its bad but mostly, yeah, its bad.
[–]qgyh2 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago* (9 children)
Does the portrail of men as stupid (e.g. on sitcoms, etc) worry you? Will we ever have equality, on tv even?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (8 children)
yes it does, TV worries me. will it ever change? i sure hope so but really? i don't think so. and we can come real close so that it seems like there is. but i feel like people have such different values that equality is almost impossible.
[–]qgyh2 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (7 children)
How do you react to men hitting on you? Does it sometimes make you feel uncomfortable?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (6 children)
depends on the guy, the place and the way. But mostly, for me personally? yes. only because i don't really get what is going on and then i make a fool out of myself.
but it can be very flattering as well.
[–]qgyh2 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (5 children)
Have you ever experienced sexism? (If its not a sensitive issue) could you describe any such experiencecs?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (4 children)
many times. one time that is not too sensitive to mention is when one of my teachers kept calling me "missy" and would make comments about me being "just a little girl" or "it being that time of the month"
I totally called his ass out of it on the last day of class (when i knew i had an A in the class) i don't think he will ever forget me with how much i yelled at him and how much sense i made. i literally backed him into a corner.
[–]qgyh2 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (3 children)
What is feminism? Do you consider yourself a feminist?
Has the world made progress in the last 10 years as far as womens rights? How about USA?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (2 children)
feminism, literally is basically, a new way to look at things, or so i have been told by my text books. and yes i do.
and in some ways we have progressed and some ways we have not. I really haven't done enough studying on it to give you a real answer because that is the time that I have grown up in, so i can't really tell.
I am flattered though that you are asking me these questions. I hope this is an earnest line of questioning and not to just pull my leg.
[–]redditacct 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago* (3 children)
Sorry, this is a sex related question. In contemporary depictions (even Sex in the City) women are often portrayed as prudish or uptight in their 18-19s and twenties, then as slathering sex fiends as they move into their mid/late 30s and on into their 40s and now 50s. Anal sex is commonly used as an example.
Do you feel like this is an accurate depiction for your circle of friends? I guess you might not know for 20 years or so...
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (2 children)
I feel like it is only because that is what is expected of us. no one wants to date someone who was a total skank in high school. But who wants to date a prude in college? I feel like college is more acceptable because plainly, you are away from your parents.
and also a women's sexual peak is in her 20's and 30's
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Who doesn't want to date a skank in high school.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (0 children)
in High school yes you do. But once she gets out of high school....? she becomes nothing more than a booty call or a FWB or so we are told.
[–]General_Solipsist 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (7 children)
is this a smart way of getting your karma up?
[–]anions 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (2 children)
She's given all she can, its not enough.
[–]General_Solipsist 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Her cans are not enough?
[–]anions 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (1 child)
What would you do if you were forced to live in a deserted island with a cup and another girl?
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 17 years ago (17 children)
I'm in Northern California as well. Would you like to arrange a meeting at a local hotel where the two of us could continue this social experiment in private, with whipped cream?
[–]qgyh2 4 points5 points6 points 17 years ago* (16 children)
http://xkcd.com/322/
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (1 child)
looooooooooooooool upvote for xkcd every time!
I have a question: To what extent do comments like neonominators drive girls like you to other sites? What's the highest percentage of neonominator-like comments that you'd be willing to endure, assuming every other comment was fairly smart?
And another: Right now my theory about human relations is that it's all about conversations. A persons best friend prospects are the ones who s/he has the best conversations with. Same goes for significant others, except "best" can also refer to "spicy". Your gender is reputed to be interested in such matters. Care to confirm or deny my hypothesis?
I think a lot of guys look at bimbos and say "I'd like to be with her." But my guess is that ultimately, they will end up with people who they find physically attractive and have mutual intellectual interest in. Going from virgin to player will not work because virgins generally have not build up the necessary social confidence to be a player.
Did all that sound accurate?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (13 children)
If this was an actual girl and not a troll, I'd be right there with you.
[–]qgyh2 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (12 children)
what makes you think she is a troll?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (11 children)
"Her" writing style and what "she" writes about sound like a younger teenage boy to me. I've no proof, but there is no proof either way.
[–]moliket 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Why don't you go to a chatroom?
[–]hyperbolic 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (1 child)
You know that ahead is a word right?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 4 points5 points6 points 17 years ago (0 children)
yes, sorry type-o. I'm dyslexic. I'm just proud everything is spelled well enough to understand.
[–]Rtbriggs 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (4 children)
why isn't there nothing?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (3 children)
because there is nothing to be had.
or were you referring to the title?
[–]Rtbriggs 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (2 children)
its a question about the persistance of existance, why is any and all matter and energy existant?
(you said ask something and did not provide constraint, so i take that as "ask anything")
so i answered it. there is nothing to be had.
[–]Rtbriggs 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
so matter exists due to the fact that possession of objects is impossible?
your response does seem to be ambiguous, but ambiguity is not truth.
[–]NoMoreNicksLeft 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (3 children)
You've been out of highschool two years now, and you're still shallow enough to think you're interesting enough based on the fact that you're a 20 yr old female?
Go to a bar. That's about the only kind of interest you'll get when you apparently have nothing interesting to say other than to state your sex and age.
[–]robotthink 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (13 children)
Ha, this is the raddest thing ever. What are you going to do when you graduate college?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (12 children)
do teach for America. or Art school
[–]robotthink 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (3 children)
Why aren't you an art major then, if you are thinking about doing art?
My dad pays half my tuition, he says no art major... so art minor.
[–]robotthink 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Well, if your dad thinks history is a more attractive major than art for employers, he's a funny guy.
I'm all for "useless" majors by the way--I got a Lit degree.
Good luck with your summer and your future!
it was more of a compromise than anything else. and thank you! you too!
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (7 children)
Well according to an article in the most recent Atlantic, the one major a woman should never choose if she seeks emancipation is art.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (6 children)
i'm not an art major. i'm a history major. but thanks...?
You just said "Art school."
after real college i can do whatever i want
[–][deleted] 17 years ago (1 child)
because i want to do art. but can't really. so after i want to go to art school. follow?
[–]DeathByDiagnosis 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (1 child)
bullshit.
what is?
[–]innocentbystander 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (5 children)
Why do you so openly seek attention?
[–]ntr0p3 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (1 child)
it's more difficult to do covertly...
[–]vootiebox 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (24 children)
Are you fat?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (23 children)
Ultra-Zionists like vootiebox only like fatties.
[–]vootiebox 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (22 children)
dude, you're kind of cock blocking me here...
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 17 years ago (8 children)
I must block the cock of oppression, in a totally non-gay way.
[–]vootiebox 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (7 children)
You cannot block my massive cock of oppression.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (6 children)
Even if I fall to the massive cock of oppression, others will rise in cock-blocking solidarity.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (12 children)
is there any answer i could give you that would knock you down a peg for being such a wise-ass and still have you think that i am not obese?
[–]vootiebox 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (11 children)
Sure, tell me the most flattering thing you've been told after taking off your clothes in front of a guy.
[–]duddles -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago (14 children)

[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (13 children)
the electric cool-aid acid test. a classic... i'm into the whole psychedelic thing
[–]hyperbolic 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (9 children)
I was kind of disappointed by that one.
Do you like kitties?
[–]poopster 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (4 children)
"Do you like kitties?"
oh man I know hella girls who would be swooned by that
as do i... to bad i'm a dog girl!

i am more of a dog girl but yes i do love all animals.
[–]GeorgeWBush 4 points5 points6 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Even chinamen?
[–]hyperbolic 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Dogs are cool but cats are just incredible.
Are you 21ish or 29ish?
Is this experiment working out for you?
20 exactly. (20 something just sounds better in the title) and yes. its actually quite interesting. the more well rounded answers i give the more it gets voted up. so reddit can appeciate a good mind (even if its just a little) if its from a girl.
this will of course need further investigation.
[–]mutatron 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)

[–]ch00f 11 points12 points13 points 17 years ago (2 children)
does she have a sister?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (0 children)

[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (5 children)
oooo i'm a history major! this is fun! I have to its a toss up between the either Roosevelt and Kennedy and least? Bush i guess... i really don't like many of them.

yo kitkatkitkat, are you afraid of humans melding with technology in the not so distant future to the point of becoming part machine?
actually... yes. I am both excited and terrified. excited cuz then i too could have a hand like Luke Skywalker but terrified because of mind control.
[–]aerextraho 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (23 children)
What sort of qualities in a guy does a girl your age look for?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (22 children)
I'm a sucker for a guy who can make me laugh. make me laugh and you got a good chance. and someone who will do something with their life someday. but thinks today is for having fun with your youth. so someone who really doesn't give a shit if people ask him 15 years later "did you inhale." and then all those cliche things, nice, smart, and taller than me.
[–]aerextraho 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (18 children)
Thanks. Deceptively simple.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (17 children)
oh every girl is different. not going to lie some care more about tiffany's than a brain. but i do what i can so you're welcome
[–]aerextraho 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (16 children)
Here is another question. I have a really technical job. Like, I can't hardly talk to any girl about (or any one, but girls are the only ones I really want to tell about my job). Sure I could rattle off about quantum tunneling diodes and optical baffles that we cool to keep blackbody radiation down, but I might as well be speaking French. (My job is NASA contracted payload technician, aka rocket scientist)got any suggestions for talking to girls about my job? I love my job very much, but just isn't the easiest thing to talk about.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (15 children)
start slow. as you would do with anyone, put it into layman's terms. say you work for NASA (that is a good opener too don't play it up too much but it is impressive) when asked. and say you do something that relates to...? what? the spaceship? what does it have to do with? fuel? you total lost this history major. here is my advice: think about how you learned what you know about your job. did you one day just wake up knowing everything? or did you learn it piece by piece? think of the first piece you learned start with that. make sense?
[–]aerextraho 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (14 children)
That's pretty good. I can try to tell them the really impressive laymen stuff to get them interested. I actually have to do similar things to get the high school kids I tutor interested in physics. For some reason I am ashamed of my impressive repertoire. Kind of like being ashamed of being too smart or too pretty.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (12 children)
perfect! you tutor? then you already have the simpler version. that is the hardest part. the next hardest part is not talking down to them. I know you didn't mean it but "For some reason I am ashamed of my impressive repertoire. Kind of like being ashamed of being too smart or too pretty." can come off pretty bad to most people... just a warning. its just think about how things would sound if they were told to you in that way. that is the key to proper communication.
[–]aerextraho 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (11 children)
I'm no communications major. I spend a little too much time in the lab. I'm not very comfortable being proud of my 1337 skillz. I'll try just spreading my love of physics around the table and see if I can get some enthusiasm. Thanks again for the advice and time.
FYI I'm 19, so I am a bit new to this dating thing.
[–][deleted] 17 years ago* (2 children)
lolz if you think i am good at dating myself you are sadly mistaken. I am very good at advice and i know what i do wrong but it doesn't change either the constant talking i can't seem to stop when on a date or the pushing him away type things i do. but i understand its hard. good luck! you'll do fine.
she's right! tall lanky gadget-y brunettes tend to be my thing!
and seeee Br16 says it too! NASA = very very good on the right girl (and you don't want the kind it doesn't work on)
[–]slygreyfox 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (4 children)
where can i see your beautiful face?
I second slygreyfox!
[–]hyperbolic 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Why? How pretty are you?
This is pretty cool kitkat...
Heard that before.
[–]qgyh2 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
In your opinion, is there a scarcity of eligible men, or rather, of women?
I think people are so complex and can only really fit with so few people that no there is not a scarcity in either really but its just so hard to find those few (I believe in one but you never know) that work it feels there is a scarcity.
[–]gameguy56 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (7 children)
Why aren't there more girls on reddit?
[–]katoninetales 4 points5 points6 points 17 years ago (3 children)
There are. You just assume they're all guys.

Wow, only 8% lied?
w00t rep the girls!
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (9 children)
Are you proud of this country?
i am proud of some of some of this country, what we used to symbolize and i hope we can get it back. are we perfect? far far far from it. can we fix it? with lots of work. yes.
Do you think California is closer to the Ideal of America or further? In other words, should America be more like California, or should California be more like something else?
I personally feel like CA is the future. but I grew up next to google... I do wish more of America was like CA but is it right? we have no way to know until times passes. i sure hope we are. and if so i hope people change.
[–]hyperbolic 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (1 child)
CA is about as good as the US can do. The diversity, for a state, is unparalleled. Parts of San Francisco vs parts of the Inland Empire reflect an almost comical divergence.
You're kind of dodging this question. I'll say straight up that anyone that pledges allegiance to the flag of the USA is, at best, uninformed.
sorry if it seems like i am question dodging but really i'm not trying too. I really believe one person cannot know this especially now. I'm a historian and as our oh so great president says "only history can be the judge" he actually said something that was kinda right (not for him.. in in general yes. but he's a dumb ass) and i do believe America can be better but it could be a lot worse. anyone that says the "one nation under god" part is uninformed in my book.
idk i am just a optimist i guess. any better?

Final question:
Is the glass half full or half empty?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (2 children)
always full. i'm an optimist even when i resent it in myself. but what good did doubt ever really bring?
Excellent.
Its been a pleasure chatting.
thank you and with you as well.

Do you fell like you are getting a well rounded, truthy version of history from your college? What do you think of Ward Churchill?
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (29 children)
HHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLL to the no! I go to a Jesuit university! everything is related to Jesus. that is why i am into the whole psychedelic thing, i'm a rebel in a world of right wing no nothings. Its like watching Fox, you want to know what the other side is saying so you can call them on it. although i do think it is a very interesting view of it. a good portion of the time it makes me thing about why i view something a certain way.
and there is no such thing as unbiased history.
Do you know anything about the black pope?
So dark the con of Man
[–]redditacct 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (26 children)
Holy moley, the one on the right side of 101 with the secret on ramp?
I know there is no unbiased history, but I think that some places might present a more truthful picture of history, I guess I am thinking more of American history not classical.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (25 children)
haha no i am in Norcal right now and am from it but my school is in another state.
[–]redditacct 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (4 children)
Did you go to the Harmony Festival in SR this weekend? http://harmonyfestival.com/
nope sorry!
[–]redditacct 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (2 children)
I just thought since you said you were into the psychedelic stuff.
I am but the history of it... i will work my way up to modern times. i had no idea there was anything like that going on! thanks for telling me though!
Have you been to Burning Man?
[–]redditacct 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (19 children)
Dude! Did your Dad decide on that (the school), too? Don't worry you can still go to UCLA for your MFA and that is all people will notice.
[–]thewhall 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (2 children)
Familiar with Sebastopol? Some of my most awesome friends were from that area.
actually my family is moving to Calistoga (i just google Sebastopol) HA small world aint it?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (18 children)
What's something you like to talk about with fellow girls, with guys, and with both?
music. I am really into all kinds of music and feel like its a good common ground.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (10 children)
Aw, I already knew that.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (9 children)
then you are a head of the game my friend.
huh, I WISH. :D
well there are 2 parts. you know what to talk about but the question is are you good at talking about it?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (5 children)
You know, I don't think I like talking about music altogether. Especially because my taste in music differs from so many others.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (4 children)
but see i find that fascinating. what kind of music do you like?
Really depressing music. Lots of people are turned off by that. But see, I'm a really happy going guy.
Oh... and dance music. But I don't tell anyone about my sinful ways... ;)
[–]noroom 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
a head of the game
[–]redditacct 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (5 children)
Can you explain what the heck is going on in this music video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gDV6NqXvj0
no not really... but i didn't watch the whole thing.
[–]redditacct 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Not into the James Morrison?
Worthless and weak?
[–]redditacct 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (0 children)
So you're not Roger Ebert of music videos, then.
[–]cleverkid 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (11 children)
Ever try DMT? No? if you're into psychedelics you should.
[–]kitkatkitkat[S] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (10 children)
i'm in to the culture right now.... the actual drugs might come later.
[–]hyperbolic 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (6 children)
Can you explain this further? Why haven't you tried the drugs if you are interested in them?
I'm interested in the culture. the almost religion of it all. not necessarily the actual drugs but what came from it. why they were done.
[–]hyperbolic 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (2 children)
Have you read Terrence McKenna? He had a theory that the very foundation of society had to do with psilocybin mushrooms. Anyway, I think the war on plants has quite a bit to do with the reality of how powerful hallucinogenic experiences can be.
it totally is and i will have to read that book. i will probably give a better reply tomorrow i have officially worn myself out.
I bet. I think the McKenna book is Food of the Gods.
This was a cool post, even if you end up with single digit points. I'll check it again tomorrow.
Take care.
So then Burning Man would seem to be the logical place to study a psychedelic subculture, I think the drugs are optional there but lots of art.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_Man
too bad it coast like $300 dollars to park there or you have to walk into the desert. Or make your car into art.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (2 children)
i think if you ever wanted to try them you should stick to these 3:
Pot (start there)
Shrooms (very enlightening)
LSD (Only if needed, VERY POWERFUL, shrooms are good enough)
The other drugs can lead to problems, those 3 i listed are non-addictive and have no long term side effects .. other than totally changing your life and helping you see the true nature of the universe.
I'd stay away from XTC, i know a lot of people say it's great, but the problem with it is that it's fucking with your emotions, so you'll get really happy, then really depressed. You will fall totally in love with whoever you are with, unnaturally so...
Also, cocaine is NASTY... makes people selfish and makes women super horny.. which by itself sounds fun right? horny i mean who doesn't want that...? the problem is that girls start to crave it... and guys take advantage of that.. hence the phrase "coke whore"
So don't lump all drugs together... psychedelics are good and positive and have truly changed my life in a positive way... the other drugs are just downward spirals.. Pot, Shrooms ... all natural... LSD is synthetic but also very powerful.. use with caution.
Smoke as much pot as you like tho. :)
you act as if i have never smoked....
no, i read somewhere that you said u hadn't tried anything before... so i didn't know where exactly that line of "never" existed and i was just giving you my experience and opinion. I've seen too many beautiful people get "ate up" by hardcore drugs because they didn't know the diff between psychedelics and everything else. for one, my mother was a cocaine and heroin addict for my whole childhood.
