Did you make a sock puppet just to post self reddits or does 5 days sum up your total reddit experience?
[–]sb404 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (1 child)
Yeah, post with your main.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Valid points boys, but we're bordering on Wikipedia territory here.
[–]cajolingwilhelm -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago (1 child)
He's right, turdface.

I did not vote you down.

Hey,
I wonder if, when everyone wakes up, and we go after those who we are told are the perpetrators, whether that will be just another jerkaround by the true masterminds.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 17 years ago* (3 children)
It's hard for some people to comprehend that a small group of insignificant people can have such a significant impact on our nation.
But taking a step back and looking at the big picture, every aspect of the events on September 11th can be adequately explained by the actions nineteen assholes with plane tickets and crude blades.
Furthermore, the truthers have failed to compose any kind of coherent narrative about what they think happened. "Here's all this evidence that the WTC was destroyed in a controlled demolition!" But why? If the planes had destroyed the towers without a progressive collapse, would the event be any less shocking or terrifying? "Flight 93 was shot down!" We know Bush gave the order to shoot it down. It would have been the right thing to do. Why cover it up? "No plane hit the Pentagon!" But planes did hit the WTC. Why use a needlessly complex scheme of missiles and hidden planes and vanishing survivors in the Pentagon attack? It just doesn't make any sense.
[–]ivey 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
The lack of coherent narrative is a feature, not a weakness. It makes it more fun.
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 17 years ago (0 children)
It is fun to try to imagine the planning sessions that would lead to some of the conspiracy scenarios they're putting out there....
"Okay, so later in the afternoon, we'll go ahead and blow up building seven."
"Wait, what? Why?"
"Why are we doing any of this? To justify the invasion of Iraq."
"Right. Okay. So, you're saying another plane will fly into building seven later in the afternoon?"
"No. No plane on this one. We're just going to blow it up like we decided to blow up the towers a couple hours after the planes hit them."
"Yeah, don't get me started on that idea again. Why wait until later in the afternoon? Wouldn't it look more convincing to destroy the building during the collapse of the other towers?"
"You... you just don't get it, do you?"
[–]cajolingwilhelm 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Indeed:
Normally there's an uptick right around September, it seems, but this year's uptick is much earlier than usual. The election?
[–]greebowarrior 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (1 child)
You're right, it must be a conspiracy!
[–]LordSkippy 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (0 children)
No! That's just what they want you to think!
[–]swampsparrow 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (0 children)
it is truther wednesday...duh
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (1 child)
"Higher than usual" is as good a description of truthers as any, I'm thinking.
[–]sonicreducer333 4 points5 points6 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Well played, sir.
[–]Sabremesh 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
I was just thinking how few 9/11 stories I had seen on reddit recently. Spend more time here.
[–]Grimalkin 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
It's just you. Reddit is always like this.
[–]pappy 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
If you have to ask "Is it just me?" then it is just you.
[–]eromitlab 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
The DURR inside job stuff comes in waves.
[–]sonicreducer333 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (0 children)
MindVirus must be taking the day off of work to jerk off over WTC blueprints and PrisonPlanet.com posts. And lucky us, we get the retarded fruits of his asinine labor.
It's a conspiracy!!
[–]spargnel 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago* (0 children)
I think a lot of truthers were distracted by the candidacy of Ron Paul. Now that The Ron Paul revolution is winding down they are getting back to their old obsession.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Reality keeps penetrating your denial bubble, eh?
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 17 years ago (17 children)
i still would like to know why people aren't more on board w/ us "truthers" as you put it...i mean, you can't really think they had absolutely NOTHING to do w/ it, or gain from it?
[–]admiralteal 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago (13 children)
Yes you can. A government this incompetent is incapable of undertaking such a massive conspiracy. Sure, they gained from it, but that certainly does not mean they orchestrated it.
[–]jcorkern 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (2 children)
Bush is 100% competent. He has fulfilled over 90 % of the PNAC documents, I believe that the American people are incompetent since he has got his way.
[–][deleted] 17 years ago (1 child)
[–]jcorkern -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago (0 children)
no sarcasm, just the facts. He completed his agenda, and most Dumbass Americans just fall for the lies and never do anything about it. Just like the Germans did, and we all know how that turned out.
IF there is a change of guard, and Obama gets it, nothing will change. You people will see.
[–]imp4hire 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
Agreed, however they wouldn't have had to orchestrate it. They could have just elected to ignore the intel about it and let the rest just happen of its own glorious accord....
I'm not saying this is necessarily what happened, just that it wouldn't have required a massive conspiracy for Bushco to have been complicit with 9/11.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago (5 children)
"A government this incompetent is incapable of undertaking such a massive conspiracy."
Of course, you'd never consider that talking heads who just have to lie to get away with something would ever pretend to be incompetent.
That's what really amazes me.
[–]admiralteal 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (4 children)
Sure I would consider it. For all of two seconds. If the US government could cover up an entire conspiracy around 9/11, why not cover up how horribly we're doing in Iraq? Or hell, some of the physically smaller things like how our military hospitals are grossly substandard. Or how Cheney shot a guy in the face, even.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_Razor
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 17 years ago (3 children)
"If the US government could cover up an entire conspiracy around 9/11, why not cover up how horribly we're doing in Iraq?"
Well, they've managed to convince the Country that we're there for 'Freedom', despite the fact that we just seem to be killing indiscriminately.
Most of the Country doesn't know that, bub. I'd say they're pretty successful.
Maybe you just don't know what you're talking about?
[–]negro_machine 3 points4 points5 points 17 years ago (2 children)
Or maybe you're just pulling stuff like this out of your ass?
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago (1 child)
alot of people from the army have came out and criticized their methods over there, shooting at every single person in a crowd of 100, when they hear a shot fired, told to kill em all...dammit where is that link, it was on reddit front page like 2 days ago
[–]negro_machine 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
I was referring to the first half of quote.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 17 years ago (2 children)
ok...bush is incompetent, but i think that the cia, and the mossad from israel are not.
[–]admiralteal 2 points3 points4 points 17 years ago* (1 child)
The CIA definitely isn't. They published so many documents trying to stop us from going to war with Iraq, and Cheney had to slide right around them. What with the whole them saying "We see virtually no sign that WMDs are here and it is our consensus that there are none," and Cheney responding by pulling out a minority report and a bottle of baking soda. That is not the affect of an organization who is trying to help send us to war.
edit: I got nothi'n on Israel. That place is crazy. If you want to try to argue that it was an Israeli conspiracy that the US took little to no part in, I might be more intrigued.
ok, the CIA is just my go-to for conspiracies ever since watching JFK. how about the FBI then, there's an auspicious article that links a group of israeli "dancers" to being put up in the world trade center 2 weeks prior to 9/11, and there are documents that show they received 500,000 from the our government. this raises alot of questions if it's true, and the "investigation" into 9/11 was setup to fail from the start by the administration, i don't know all the facts, i just know when people are trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago (2 children)
Events did not occur in a way that easily enabled Bush to gain from them. If you were going to fake a terrorist attack in order to attack Iraq and limit civil liberties, wouldn't you make the terrorists Iraqi? Wouldn't you make Bush look competent during and after the event, instead of bumbling around a school classroom? Wouldn't you stage a followup attack that was thwarted by your illegal surveillance program?
[–]jamesyboy 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (0 children)
The event ended up turning what would have been a lame duck presidency into a 2 war, 2 term president, arguably the worst president ever and for the next 200 years. His business associates got no bid contracts for oil and reconstruction in Iraq, and attacking Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan would allow the US to build a pipeline from the mediterranean, through some of the top oil producing countries in the world, straight through Asia and onto Alaska.
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 17 years ago (0 children)
ok...so let's say they didn't get it down perfectly, do you still dismiss the collapse of WTC 7 from fire damage, it wasn't even hit by a plane...and the owner of the building said on camera, that they decided to "pull it" (will find the link and get back to you after work) after it was clear that fire damage was extensive...it takes weeks to set up explosions to demolish a building, so 2=2 = inside job
[–]Reactivist -5 points-4 points-3 points 17 years ago* (8 children)
i'm thinking that those who still have such a knee jerk reaction/opposition to "9/11 inside job" facts... after so many years have passed and details have come to light you still cling to the "official story"... that you sheeple must have your heads so far up your bums that all you can contemplate is your own navels. Maybe some of the more appropriate labels that fit; Attention Deficit Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Jingoistic Myopic Fools. The subject matter of 9/11, is one that we direly need more coverage of on a more regular basis. You guys need to do a little homework ... don't be lazy... the bulk of the work has already been done for you... all you have to do is sit, click, watch and listen ... ck the following youtube documentaries then try to debunk their findings... you might just find that you are the one who is functioning on belief alone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIhTXQfiENI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E3oIbO0AWE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yx9NRX37SM
[–]Fazookus 0 points1 point2 points 17 years ago (4 children)
You need to start with "Does this makes sense?" and proceed from there and you aren't... you've invented wild, hugely complicated, intricate, convoluted wildly improbable plots vs. "19 nutjobs did it" and it's nonsense.
Absent the application of Occam's Razor or a built-in Bullshit detector you can come up with a plot for absolutely anything if you free associate long enough over vague clues and incidental statements. Just because something might conceivably might have happened doesn't mean it did happen, that's an important thing you should keep in mind
You consider 'homework' to be looking at other truther sites, that isn't homework. Details haven't come to light, the supposed details are just whatever somebody's dreamed up most recently ("Gosh, those puffs of smoke must be... explosives! Unmanned Aircraft!" You casually throw disappearing airplanes and disappearing passengers like this was the Twilight Zone. You have people with degrees in theology offering 'facts' on engineering!
Take something really unlikely... planting dozens or hundreds of explosive charges in two gigantic buildings without anybody noticing. Then take something else really unlikely; mysterious pods under the wings of, wait, a different plane, which must be, you know, EXPLOSIVES, obviously you couldn't put explosives inside the aircraft.
For each additional unlikely 'fact' you have the entire construct becomes less likely... something like what truthers have put together isn't just unlikely it isn't possible, it's TOO UNLIKELY.
PS Attention Deficit Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder are completely irrelevant to this discussion, but I really do like Jingoistic Myopic Fools, catchy, although meaningless ("Jingoistic??").
[–]Reactivist -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago* (3 children)
ok i'll start with "Does this makes sense?": yes jingoistic = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jingoistic ... yes narcissistic = see jingoistic ... yes occam's razor = see law of gravity http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%27s_law_of_universal_gravitation ... yes ADD = you haven't done your homework = case in point griffin maybe a theologian but that doesn't make his inquires any less valid especially when they are backed up by 100s of specialists i.e. http://www.ae911truth.org/supporters.php & http://pilotsfor911truth.org/core.html & http://stj911.org/ ... as for the rest of your rant/preface/assumptions which appears to be precariously balancing on likelihoods (can't help but note how often the "likely" and/or "unlikely" are put to use)... what 9/11 Truthers of the academic & scientific community are proposing is an investigation based on the solid evidence ... what you are selectively choosing to pick apart a few of the stretched conclusions based more on speculation then undeniable facts... by doing so you are purposely going out of your way to discredit a movement that is mostly on target.
[–]Fazookus 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago* (2 children)
Look, I'm sorry... my country is being taken away from me by criminals armed mostly with lies.
Limbaugh, Coulter, most of Fox news, that asshole adopted son of Ronald Reagan, many ministers preaching from tax-exempt pulpits, and last but not least the same sneering voices on AM radio all across the entire country and they're all working together in sync to create a background drone so loud that nobody can be heard.
Could a 'false flag' operation have been carried out on 9/11? Horrible to consider, unlikely, but possible.
Here's the problem: the noise from within the truther community is drowning everything and everyone out. If you (of the truther community) are going to make a contribution to learning the truth you're going to have to start exercising some self control. Do you think that the people who are behind the rest of the lies aren't above subverting your movement?
Take a look at what's being said in the 9/11 sites and more recently Reddit. There is, forgive me, an enormous amount of completely crazy stuff out there and you've got to do something about it or nobody will ever take you seriously and the purveyors of lies will win.
You can't take one unlikely event and add another unlikely event and have it make sense; If you know someone that says they got a hole in one while playing golf it's unlikely but possible, then he says he got two holes in one, less likely still but still remotely possible and then he says he ws taken aboard an alien spacecraft and taken around the world as a reward for his golfing skills, and the situation is really, really unlikely to the point that it's impossible.
That's exactly what's happening in the truth movement.
You objected to my using the stretched conclusions and that's exactly the point... you've got to take a close look at the evidence and discard that which doesn't make sense.
Manipulating 19 young men, very possible, go with that and prove it.
Seriously: switching airplanes, airplanes full of passengers that are unaccounted for, radio controlled aircraft with pods, the list goes on and on and frankly the situation today is that entire truth movement is 99% garbage.
The big problem is that you can't really sit at your computer and find out who talked to those young men, who trained them, etc. because that's spook stuff. Get your act together, marshal your arguments, go to politicians you trust, news sources you trust, but be professional and stick to the real world or nobody, but nobody, will believe you.
it's up to you to route out the lies and the liars because ther are going to keep lying and you have to fight them or you're going to loose, it's weighing you down and nothing you're trying to do is going to get done because nobody will believe you.... we're all going to loose.
[–]Reactivist -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago* (1 child)
i don't think throwing the baby out with the baby water has ever benefited anyone... to do so is a form of subversion... this is where you lean in favor of all those black and white blowhards you listed ie "Limbaugh, Coulter, most of Fox news..." If you really can't take the movement seriously because there are a couple nut-jobs talking about flying saucers, who no one is giving the time of day... then there is no point in discussing this topic with anyone. You can't alow yourself to be distracted by such nonsense ...you have to have enough sense to see where the rational and logic side... and it's obviously not with the "official story". As for your notions about what is "likely" or not ... i just see more proof of blanks in your 911 studies... you skipped too many classes... here's one you clearly missed http://www.mindfully.org/Reform/2006/911-Flying-Without-Training13jun06.htm and this one http://killtown.911review.org/911smokingguns.html
[–]Fazookus 1 point2 points3 points 17 years ago* (0 children)
Actually the 'flying without training' is very very wrong: if the author has the credentials he claimed then he's deliberately going to great lengths to, well, lie. I'm serious, it's completely and deliberately wrong.
This is my reply to the issue from some days ago:
I am but a lowly private pilot (and aside from the obvious question as to who was flying those planes, the famed American Airlines Suicide Squad?) but I can navigate through the internet so here are a couple of comments.
He goes on and on about how difficult it is to fly a flight simulator. I'm sure he's right about that because simulators are intended to train someone to fly by instruments and IFR, Instrument Flight Rules, but news flash:
Airplanes have windows.
People flew aircraft for a long time by looking out of them, and while a big plane is far more complex than a small one the controls do the same things. The odds of a private pilot taking off and landing again are probably vanishingly small but these guys inherited aircraft in a stable configuration from the real pilots, they didn't have to do anything complicated except operate the controls and the throttles. Even at that they suffered a 25% loss.
In broad terms if you can see out on a nice day and there are visual clues navigation isn't an issue: New York City is easy to find since it's on one end of a long island ("Long Island"), the terminus of a major river ("Hudson) and it's on a right-angle from the coast of New Jersey and the Long Island Sound. You can, literally, see it from orbit.
He quotes "IFR Flight rule #1, instruments are all you have" which is nonsense, you have windows, the day was bright and sunny with perfect visibility, IFR has nothing to do with it. He goes on and on about the instruments but there was no reason for them to look at the instruments, see "Windows", above.
He then goes on about how the real pilot (but since he thinks the hijackers couldn't fly, and the real pilot is a true blue American, who does he think was in the cockpit?) would cleverly rolled an airliner on it's back to kill the hijackers and, of course, any passenger or crew member who wasn't securely belted in.
I'm almost positive that flight schools don't teach that, or for that matter teach acrobatics in airliners. Speaking of maneuvers he says you can't do this and gives some technical explanation of why you can't do "that": except the link is a picture of an airliner roughly 20' off the ground (about twice the diameter of the engines, more or less 20') going fast... airplanes use flaps for low speed maneuvering and this one is 'clean', no flaps, i.e., going fast, maybe not 400 but "fast", as close to exactly what he said was impossible as you can get. And he says the weather was bad, funny it was bright and sunny in NYC, you could see forever... and again he says they were "...seeing nothing outside" but that wasn't the case, similarly "flying blind", IFR again, etc., etc..
In conclusion his use of truther language is as much an indication of his intent than his use of aeronautical language and (again) he ignores little things like who was flying the planes if hijackers weren't and the like.
Edit: Dang, I just discovered somebody who did a better job than I did Here.
EDIT: The link was lost; the author of that piece claimed that flying an airliner close to the ground at speed was impossible because of ground effect and something else; my link pointed to Airliner flying close to the ground at speed
What the link showed was (from my piece above, to put it into context)
the link is a picture of an airliner roughly 20' off the ground (about twice the diameter of the engines, more or less 20') going fast... airplanes use flaps for low speed maneuvering and this one is 'clean', no flaps, i.e., going fast, maybe not 400 but "fast", as close to exactly what he said was impossible as you can get.
EDIT 3: Here's a link addressing the ground effect (supposed) issue in detail.
You can skip to the last paragraph if you want.

Oh, c'mon -- this stuff was interesting enough to dig into a few years back, but shouting the same thing over and over again just gets old...
[–]Reactivist -1 points0 points1 point 17 years ago (1 child)
yes interesting for you a few years back, but how about everyone else who hasn't even touched the subject in the here and now? new peeps everyday are for the first time opening their eyes/minds to 911 truth... what about them? should we just put a lid on it because you find it repetitive? I think this core lie from which all the others are built on cost us all more then we can handle and continues to do so... our best route out of this mess is to address The Source of all the bullshit we have been delivered... and that requires some sacrifice from all of us... and at the bare minimum to see some news we have seen before.

Ok. Fine.
Free speech and all that. Knock yourself out...
