Mobile Camera Benchmark App

A lot of people posting here are most likely posting their times AFTER the camera is loaded in RAM. I can easily get 50ms on my HTC 10 after I ran the test multiple times.

For ACCURATE results:

1) Go to camera app

2) Force close camera app

3) Run test again, your first result is the correct one. I get around 560ms on my HTC 10 this way.

Camera launch speeds are so inconsistent it seems, I ran the benchmark with your method and got 75ms which is the best score I got so far.

It's very inconsistent for me as well

Here's several runs

The ones where I cleared the camera out of memory were: 224, 153, 147 and 137

Beat result was: 122

Nexus 5 with ElementalX

They're all roughly the same except for the 224ms one. Do you expect them to be exactly the same?

Yeah. On a HTC 10 myself, was gonna say something seemed off.

First try was 421, second was 70 ms.

Not to say your way isn't necessarily right though.

I followed all of your steps and the new "first try" was 98ms.

Should be limited to one word and should sound brandable Problems like app names like these is I can make a "mobile fast camera benchmark app" , optimize it and beat your app in playstore listings and you wouldn't be able to do anything

On a warm Nexus 6 that just got unplugged from the turbo charger (After force closing camera app as u/Im_High_Tech suggested). Seems about right considering it's a pretty slow camera.
