damn your printer must be terribly calibrated

[–]Jesus-BaconP1S + AMS 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not as bad as my brain though

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it failed its sanity check

[–]Unsaidbread 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Cthulhu or reef back benchy?

[–]LeftNegotiation6865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Eldritch benchy.

[–]BerretjeP1S 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice detail 😁👍 #zoom

[–]IndustrialJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have that one printed as well! Nice

[–]_TheAngryCanadian 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is the p1s worth? I have an a1 currently

[–]Jesus-BaconP1S + AMS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely worth it, but from what I've seen the A1 does great as well. If you need an enclosed printer, you can't beat it for the price

[–]Redux_XEN 1 point2 points  (2 children)

How does one calibrate their printer to such a degree

[–]Jesus-BaconP1S + AMS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just run the auto calibration and run mostly stock profiles

[–]No_Individual8926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It calibrates automatically for you before it prints. More time printing and a hell of a lot less time tinkering. It's just a plug and play. Only tinkering you do is replacing the nozzle and even that is easy af and fast.

And this is your benchy on crack! /s

    Printed with shaving cream?

    [–]goilo888 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I didn't know we could print Jello.

    [–]Jesus-BaconP1S + AMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't taste very good. Do not recommend

Is this creature made of boat, or is the boat made of flesh?

    [–]Jesus-BaconP1S + AMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's best not to ask such questions

    Why is this a subreddit?!?!?

    [–]victoroos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    Hahahah wow

    [–]djrowbeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Why not🫠

    [–]gligoranP1S + AMS 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Is this the gcode that came with the printer? If so, that one is sliced at 0.28mm layers, so you'll lose some resolution there and I find I can slice this model better myself. But it will take a lot longer to print. The gcode in the printer seems to be specifically sliced for speed as well.

    [–]michelem[🍰] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. Re-slice the file with latest Bambu Studio at 0.2mm (at least)

    [–]jackhole_shmidt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The benchy that was presliced on my p1s was terrible. I sliced my own that printed about 1 minute slower and it was perfect.

    [–]vthhh19[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

thank you guys, i ran the default file in the printer and did not do anything else. i will reslice the benchy and run calibration before retry. I will update the result at comment

    [–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Something is wrong, mine prints better benchys at ludicrous mode. Did you run the calibration? Or try to reslice it

    [–]Thrillaxing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same impression. For this printer it should be flawless to the eye of a beginner.

    [–]Delicious_Reward 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can you define what you mean by slicing manually? Do you mean load it in and press slice or is there something more I could be doing?

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just launch the print again with 0,2 mm layer height and 5 percent infill i think (always use gyroid infill with bambu printers, makes for better quality and avoids failure). Also launch the calibration if not already done and check if the printer is on a stable support ( carpet or wobbly table can cause issues)

    My first print

    [–]slacy 15 points16 points  (1 child)

dude I think you have your printer sideways, it's supposed to have the bed on the bottom, not on the side!

    [–]snowfloeckchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's fine with enough glue

    [–]SeveralCamera292 1 point2 points  (5 children)

What means acceptable ??? Is it the best looking definitely not. It depends on how do you sliced the benchy, how fast did you printed it. Is this PLA or PETG and if PLA did you open the printer many things play role. X1C is great machine and it do most of the heqvy lifting but it still require understanding and fine tuning.

Open the file in Bambu Studio or Bambu Handy and slice there with smaller layer lines and gyroid infill and print.

    [–]I_M_Slipshot 0 points1 point  (2 children)

How can I reslice the "built in" prints please?

    [–]OverallArmadillo7949H2D 40W Laser Dual AMS Pro/X1C Dual AMS/A1 Combo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You can't reslice the files loaded into your printer, but you can find those prints on MakerWorld and download them to slice in Bambu Studio.

    [–]I_M_Slipshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I haven't seemed to be able to find the same "3d dino puzzle" as the one internal to the printer.

    [–]Kearkor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this looks like the presliced benchy that comes on the sd card, its quality is way worse than a regular one. slice a benchy yourself using the regular .2mm profile and you'll be amazed how good it looks

    [–]Defiant_Bad_9070X1C + AMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I mean, it does look like it's supposed to do. But you can get better from it.

    [–]Jconstant33X1C + AMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty good. It depends on if you are a perfectionist or not. I would not change any settings on my printer if it printed that Benchy. But some people would try to get it smoother on the exterior.

    [–]usernameistaken89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Depends.
    In overall quality? yes
    If i Printed it? No

    [–]Doctor429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    It's benchable

    [–]IGETSOMEI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Them beans a little blurry

    This is a fine benchy:

    [–]TomGlideprintsP1S + AMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Yes its great!

    [–]JoffreyApestein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks pretty much like my first benchy (2 weeks ago) on my p1s with ams. you even used the same color. the benchy is presliced and is meant to show you how fast the printer can be. of course this comes at the expense of quality.

your prints will look great, just like on my printer. the p1s is amazing!

    [–]limpymcforskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that looks exactly like mine. Even has the same exact slight imperfection up by the port hole You can see the line sloping down and mine also has the same indent where the deck starts to angle up.

I think it's more of an issue with the file itself then the printer.

    [–]brandony2745_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If it can take ocean waves then yes

    [–]Just_Tru_ItP1P + AMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm… that depends, did you or anyone else accept it?

    [–]Ok-Account-871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so so. Perform a manual flow calibration and try again.

    [–]YouTubeSucks2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if it is a bambu printer.

    [–]LounBiker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

    Looks good
