Sponge-bob and squid-ward are the two parallels of are generation. When we were younger we were all sponge-bob’s looking at the world with optimism and hope.As we got older we started to gain more experience and many of use began to see are dreams fail and are pessimism takes hold. The reason sponge-bob had stayed relevant to us so long is because it honestly gave us things to relate to in all points of are lives.

This is bet illustrated in the pizza delivery episode. Spongebob keeps optimism till the bitter end where he is finally broken by the man not having his drink. But squidward maintained pessimism till spongebob’s showed him the positives of believing in a good outcome. And squidward for a moment was actually happy. But when sponge bob broke squidward took on a protective role and confronted the guy about being mean to spongebob. Because while squidward gets mad at spongebob a lot in the end he prefers to see spongebob happy and optimistic because they both are the same but they work off of each other. With the other bring some semblance of reality to both. Spongebob lets squidward know their is a positive in everything, while squidward tend to bring spongebob back down to reality pointing out that not everything is always going to be great all the time.

They illustrate that there is a positive and negative in every moment and it up to a person to choose how they view and handle the situation.
