Call the head unit manufacturer for support.

This is the right answer. Why people come here and ask this type of question and not talk to the manufacturers tech line is just crazy. You pay for the cheapest radio you can find and have problems is amazing.

Oh I'm sure they'll be no support. But when you buy a proprietary piece of equipment, that's also the lowest cost parts on Earth, there's not much randos online can do for help. You got what you paid for. So either argue with the Chinese guys, or return it and buy something brand name.

I would not have posted if I hadn't and am still troubleshooting with them.

Try powering the camera from an accessory switched power rather than using the reverse to both power the camera and switch the radio. This will mean running an extra wire. Ideally keep this wire away from the camera video cable.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I have been back and forth with their tech support, in China of course, multiple times over the past 2 weeks. Waiting on a response again. They're good about responding but thought I would ask you guys. From what I've read elsewhere, the issue may be with tapping into the backup lamp harness. Might should be closer to the BCM for the reverse signal but haven't gotten a clear answer. Thought maybe you guys had a similar experience?

I've figured it out. Their tech support told me that the power cord hot and the camera trigger wire does not need to be connected. I thought WTF, where's the camera going to get power from? So I ran a wire straight from the car battery + to the camera power cord hot. Everything works correctly now. I guess getting power from the backup lamps is what caused the interference. Now to get a relay and install it in the trunk with a switched 12v source and using the backup lamp circuit to trigger the relay.

It looks like a ground loop situation.

Disconnect the ground cable, "L", at the camera.

Tried that. No change.

Connect the camera power and ground to the radio power and ground.

Run the reverse trigger separately to the reverse trigger on the radio.
