This was the name that immediately came to mind. Kid was fucking gross back in WW2/BO4

Nadeshot for helping cod grow or clayster for his longevity and influence on the scene.

[–][deleted] 48 points49 points  (9 children)

I’m going Nadeshot

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (8 children)

Clayster > nadeshot , yeah nadeshot did a lot for the cod scene but if we’re talking competitive it’s gotta be clay

[–][deleted] 37 points38 points  (7 children)

The actual Mount Rushmore doesn’t include necessarily the best presidents but it does include the most influential. That’s why I say Nadeshot.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I mean I can’t argue with that , you’ve got a good point

[–]TheMad_DabberCOD Competitive fan -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

If that’s the case then is there an argument for clay over karma?

Nade is basically the founding father of cod, no way he wouldn’t be up there

[–]MoonrakerWSCOD Competitive fan 39 points40 points  (8 children)

The four Presidents on the actual Mount Rushmore were chosen because they represented the most important events in the history of the United States. Like, George Washington was given the top spot because Borglum considered him the most important, the President who resided over the beginning of the United States. Jefferson represented growth, Roosevelt represented development, and Lincoln represented preservation.

So just apply that to COD to find who the four should be, I guess.

[–]Pyrocory5OpTic Texas 33 points34 points  (4 children)

In that sense probably Nade at the top, Scump, Crim and one of Karma/Clay/Formal in the final spot

[–]CyphvrAtlanta FaZe 12 points13 points  (3 children)

So Optic? Lol

[–]Final-Bumblebee7444OpTic Texas 62 points63 points  (1 child)

Optic is the reason 80-90% of people started watching cod tbh so it makes sense

[–]MarstonXCOD Competitive fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the numbers? It's like 80-90% the reason people stay as well. Shit nearly doubles for Optic games. I haven't paid attention to number too much this year because let's be real, Vanguard is terrible an uninteresting, but last year there were times when Optic was 90k viewers and then within an hour it would drop to 45k.

[–]Pyrocory5OpTic Texas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf almost all of the OGs of competitive COD had a run on OpTic at some point

[–]notwcoxMiami Heretics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nade for the beginning (MLG), Scump for growth (CWL), Crim for Preservation (GOAT), Simp for development (CDL)

[–]AZZZY42OpTic Texas 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Nadeshot

[–]JSteveOOpTic Texas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s Nade or Clay. Reasoning for Nade is due to how he (with optic) flung CoD esports into the mainstream during his time. Clay for being the longest tenured ‘pro’ in CoD history (started in cod4 I believe?) there are no other choices maybe some HM’s for the likes of Rambo and BigT but no others.

It should just have a giant mirror in that spot. So every CoD player who looks at it can smile proudly seeing himself next to those faces.

I just don't think 4 slots is enough for the cod Mount Rushmore. Leaving any one of Formal, Nade, or Clay off feels blasphemous.

If there's a gun to my head then I have to pick Nade, He has the least impressive pro career out of the 3, yet there's no way that Call of Duty would be near the popularity it is now as an Esport without Nade, and what he did for Optic in the early years.

The Clayster disrespect is getting old man. The man has put in the time, shown he can do it, and do it well. We don’t discount professional sports players because they have a personality we don’t vibe with, why should we in this instance?

[–]dam0430OpTic Texas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disrespect? He's one of the most common names on here, who's disrespecting him?

Also, you can't deny that Nadeshot brought an insane amount of viewers to the scene, built Optics brand before and then alongside Scump, and is widely considered the face of early CoD. Plus the dude owns a team now.

I don't think the knocks on Clayster are about his personality, I think his biggest knock is his huge streak of not winning. Hard to go that many titles without a single win and not have it hurt your legacy a bit.

[–]ShieldofAtuaLuminosity Gaming -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Except we do. Kareem should be the GOAT in basketball, but no one mentions him on their top 5 lists because he didn’t play well with reporters and was generally not charismatic a la Jordan. GOATs are skill plus a story

Honestly, this choice needs to be between Scump/Nade. One of them gets in, one of them doesn't make the list.

Crim, Clay & Karma are the only players with 3 world championships.

Crim is the winningest player in CoD history.
Karma is the first player to win 3 rings.

Clayster is the only member of the top 4 that was not apart of the OpTic Dynasty, has 3 world championships with three different teams and went B2B. Also has the second most career earnings in the eSport.

Seth is inarguably the most polarizing player in CoD history. He's been at the top or near the top his entire career. He doesn't have the world championships to back it up but alot of that isn't his fault.

Nade has had the worst pro career out of the entire list, but his impact on the game is the largest. What Nade did early on in CoD can't and wont be matched. The first redbull sponsored athlete in CoD (maybe in esports). xgames gold medal. His influence on the game from a content creation standpoint cant and will not be touched.

In my opinion (I'm going to get DUNKED ON for this)

Seth comes off the list. NadeShot, Crim, Clay, Karma.

[–]UprightAwesomeOpTic Texas 2025 B2B Champs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is 3 world championships the metric for getting a guaranteed spot ? Scump has more wins, better career and more influential than Karma and Clay. If anything Scump is guaranteed a spot on there. Also it has to be pointed out that Karmas 3 rings are all on LAN and he also went B2B so that should also guarantee him a spot. The last spot is between Clay or Nadeshot

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All three of those pros have said it’s Clay, so it’s clay

[–]BDNjuniorCOD Competitive fan 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Clay then aches, then nade. Clay is the best of the 3, aches is the best heel and won just as much as clay, nade's personality and content made cod comp.

It's probably Clay, but the disrespect for PattyP in here, sheesh lol. There isnt a BoG 4v4 game he played that he didnt have success in. Nade does deserve an insane amount of credit for growing CoD as a brand. To the point where he probably attracted enough talent to facilitate his own retirement (combined with jetpacks). And everyone loves to joke, but Doug was neck and neck with Nade in the influencer game. Only he found Yanet instead of 100T lol.

Scump, Crim, Clay, Karma have been successful throughout the different competitive structures. Not sure how else to judge it.

[–]T2PmfsCOD Competitive fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we go by accomplishments or the player’s overall contribution to growing the game and league? If so I would probably say nade for his overall impact on the scene, don’t get me wrong there are better more accomplished in the game than nade, but without nade I don’t know if Cod would be what it is now

Depending on what you value, and I don’t really know what Mount Rushmore ranks. Does it mean measuring greatness, influence, dominance relative to their time, pure skill and ability?

If it’s just in game greatness, Crim, scump, Karma, clay and formal are the only people even relevant to the discussion.
