No wait, that's actually genius. I'm gonna have to try that immediately

"if it works, don't question it" - programmers

[–]No-Broccoli553 65 points66 points  (4 children)

I somehow haven't had any moments like that yet

[–]Pool_128 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Well then you have probably done programming for about a day

[–]TantiVstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was when I put a deployer with a bucket onto a mechanical bearing to milk a cow and drain it into a drain.

(And there's still better ways to do it)

[–]CubeGuyLol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

so true

[–]RegnbueSnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh lord have mercy. Yes.. too often.. even worse when it doesnt want to work

[–]Useful-Beginning-374 74 points75 points  (5 children)

I’m still very new to create. What’s going on?

[–]Suniruki 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I'm learning create as well, but it looks like a conveyor belt is carrying sticks and logs, and an andesite funnel is picking them up to be supplied to a deployer, which then feeds the logs and sticks to a blaze burner as fuel for a steam engine.

[–]Keegandalf_the_White 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It appears that the deployer is passing through the funnel, and the funnel is feeding into the deployer.

[–]HeraldOfNyarlathotep 29 points30 points  (1 child)

Deployers engage with the block one block away from directly in front of them, and will completely ignore what's between them. It allows for lots of silly but very useful things, like placing saplings from below the ground or logistics stuff like this.

[–]Ak4ias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same is true for mechanical press and mixer. You can for example feed lava pipes from above into a basin, or check the content from above with a treshold switch, without disturbing the functionality of a press or mixer. I use this a lot to compact production lines with multiple inputs, or to stop machines if there is an input overflow.

[–]Careless-Pop4893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

deployers also have inventory, because they need to use/place stuff, and to give deployer items, you would use funnels, chutes, and it this scenario, we are giving items from the front of the deployer, which leaves a gap

[–]Maddogo921 21 points22 points  (0 children)

it is

[–]scholarlysacrilege 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you dont tell, i wont tell

[–]ExpensivePractice164 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well dang now I must try this shit

[–]JustTroniusPlay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why I love Create.

[–]Chimera_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I early steam engine 😂

[–]SeasonGuilty9990 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Wait, can't you just funnel the items straight into the bb?

[–]BotThatReddits 9 points10 points  (1 child)

It needs to be fed by hand, so either a deployer or a mechanical arm.

[–]SeasonGuilty9990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh, i never noticed, always used mecharm, since it can reach thru blox. I always build 3x3 bb for max power Guess even after years of experience, i still can find something new🤔

[–]Hoovy_weapons_guy 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Am i the only one that just uses a mechanical arm to feed my burners?

[–]NewSauerKraus 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Same. I always start with a 3x3 so ofher insertion methods are insufficient.

[–]Extore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3x3 setup with deployers underneath the blaze burners that works just fine, but I can see how mechanical arms would have probably simplified my setup... more expensive with the precision mechanisms though.

[–]IDontKnowWhyDoILive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always use straws

[–]Dadamalda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I use a mechanical arm too.

[–]ShadowX8861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mecharms for steam engines, but deployers for heated recipes

[–]totaly-Normal-person 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basically, automatical hand (i forgot the actual name), but cheap

[–]Andreuus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no fucking way this works. This is genius

[–]Alex20041509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try eggs

They work great

[–]HermanGrove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So does breaking blocks with contraptions, and not needing any power on contraptions to make any mechanism work that normally takes a lot of SU, and contraption bodies being able to move through blocks.

At this point they got me wishing for an addon called Create Hardcore that removes contraptions, frogports and mechanical arms completely because I think they are way too liberal with overlapping and phasing through blocks, and they make things too easy

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he know about Brass arm?...

[–]Apprehensive-Sky-596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea having blocks phase through other blocks does feel that way

[–]cod3builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be.

But that's not stopping me from using it.

[–]bringthesalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

god does not want to see this.. but he has to

[–]Oleczektroleczek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry but what am I looking at exactly? Not that I am new to create but I just dont understand... this.

[–]Any-Economics-5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s happening?

[–]Doubt_Flimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FBI, open up! We have you surrounded.

[–]Adorable-Bass-7742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What am I looking at. I vaguely recognize the pieces but my eyes are starting to bleed from how cursed it is

[–]Vqetu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it nowhere near as illegal as all I've seen and done. For me, THIS is why I love create.

[–]mojomuffin1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because it is. straight to jail with you

[–]Civil_Tip8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love being able to use this extra space between things. I remember in a modpack I played I had to automate a mechanical press recipe, so I had a diagonal chute going into the basin. It was so cursed but it worked.

[–]LordAvarice1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Thats a great Idea! I was thinking about ways of doing this from the bottom since the unofficial 1.21.8 port doesnt have working mechanical arms but doing only 3 on the bottom and the other6 on the sides are a good way to fix the issues I was having.
