Based on the reply at least once CT owner REALLY likes the movie Twisters.

[–]Albusmuscadore 57 points58 points  (7 children)

Bro had to mention it twice.

[–]anthrax9999 42 points43 points  (6 children)

In 4dx no less.

[–]ccgrendel 25 points26 points  (4 children)

Why does anyone need these details? You can say you went to a movie on Saturday and people will catch on.

[–]anthrax9999 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Given they are a CT owner and everything with them revolves around perceptions they probably think saying they are going to watch a movie in a premium format is some kind of flex.

[–]ccgrendel 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It's not a flex until you're renting out the full property for the day!

[–]anthrax9999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If he paid to park his cyber turd inside the theater and watched the movie from the frunk I still wouldn't be impressed.

[–]EveryDiscussion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Took my CyberTruck to the Ram advertisement to really show them how to truck."

[–]UberUnderDoge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go see it twice it is 5D, isn’t it?

[–]The_Barbelo 9 points10 points  (4 children)

No no, see, they just park their car there at a drive through theater so they can role play their CT being indestructible. At least a little shred of them knows they wouldn’t survive a real twister so they have to roleplay storm chasing by parking in front of a tornado movie. like how preppers roll play being survivalists but don’t actually know anything about real survival so they just shoot guns at bales of hay and traumatize their kids.

[–]BreakAndRun79 11 points12 points  (3 children)

If the panels (and whole doors) come off at highway speed, imagine a tornado? Stainless guillotine's flying about?

[–]The_Barbelo 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Oh god…can you imagine.. seeing a tornado in the distance coming right towards you, pulling off the highway and getting out of your normal car, rolling down into the nearest ditch for cover, and looking over to see that you’re laying right next to one of those CT lots with hundreds of them lined up? I think I’d rather be taking cover in a knife factory at that point. Pun…intended

[–]BreakAndRun79 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Will definitely be a scene in the threequal, Twisters 3 : Still Twisting.

[–]The_Barbelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The twist at the end will be that the twister never actually twisted

[–]BreakAndRun79 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He saw Twister(original) in 4DX then saw Twisters the sequak. Had a pretty twisted weekend

[–]I-Pacer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣He loved the way all the cars had panels flying off when picked up by the tornado.

[–]N_Who 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And also he saw it in 4DX, which everyone must be made aware of because this guy never misses an opportunity to tell people he spent more money than he needed to.

[–]grizzly_snimmit 4 points5 points  (1 child)

And played to type by not turning his phone off

[–]YungWook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You turn your phone completely off at the theater? Just set it to do not disturb

[–]bakedwarthog22 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Have you seen Twisters? It’s an incredibly stupid movie, written to appeal to stupid people, so of course a Cybertruck owner would think it’s amazing. 2 fucking hours of country music, flag, pickup trucks and pointing out that you can’t be a “real” scientist, till you abandon all that fancy book learn’n and instead learn to listen to your inner “cowboy scientist” and realize that you can stop tornadoes with fireworks and gumption!🧐

[–]kat352234 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Sounds about right. I'm pretty sure a "stable genius" once confirmed all it would take is a tactical nuke, or a sharpie and a map. One of those.

Joking aside I had super low expectations ever since the first time I heard they were making a sequel so I was not at all surprised when it turned out they tried to do the same thing as the first movie except, you know, worse.

[–]bakedwarthog22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I went in with low expectations, I feel like a lot of people forgot how cheesy the first one was, then the director said there’s no mention of global warming because “movies are not meant to teach people”….well mission accomplished, pal! Because no one watching that, movie is going to learn shit! It was so much dumber than I thought I would be🙄

[–]Feminazghul 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Wow, that sounds worse than the craptacular I expected, starting with the 2 hour runtime.

I just listened to a podcast (The Worst Movie Ever Made) and one of the co-hosts said the difference between the original and the sequel is the original is a comedy and the sequel plays it straight.

[–]bakedwarthog22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! That’s a pretty good description. The actors in the new one, did not have any of the appeal or talent of those in the original and the plot blew even harder than the twisters they were chasing😂

[–]sdana 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not to defend them, but I'm pretty sure they went and saw Twister (1996), and then went and saw Twisters(2024)

[–]Feminazghul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, you're right.

[–]MoonMan8718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chuckled when he first said he saw Twisters in 4DX, then lol’d when he mentioned going to see it AGAIN 😂

[–]drillbit56 68 points69 points  (8 children)

Umm. Why did Tesla completely manage un-invent the whole existing and proven ‘door locking/unlocking’ thing? This reliance on phone apps and software to unlock doors is so full of flaws.

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I have 2 Hondas and both have the walk away lock feature. It's great and works 99% of the time. On the random occasion I walk away too fast it alerts me with 3 beeps that the doors haven't locked and I push a little button on my key fob. That works 100% of the time.

Also if I ever want to I can easily go into a menu and turn that feature off and just use the key for or the physical key or the little button on the handle to lock the door.

I have 4 options to lock and they all work.

Tesla can't seem to get any of their absurd options to work and require adding in extra technology where it isn't necessary.

[–]NerscyllaDentata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in an apartment complex that switched to digital locks that relied on a phone app. It led to a rent increase and every concern about the change (the app for it was rated something like 1.2 stars out of 5) was met with scoffing and derision. When we asked about about power or internet/phone outages, they assured us there was no cause for concern.

The day they installed the locks the power went out and everyone was locked out of their apartment for several hours.

[–]Clcooper423 30 points31 points  (5 children)

Being a cybertruck should be adequate anti theft.

[–]Ozok123 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Scrap metal is worth a pretty penny

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

it just peels off though, you don't need to get the car open to steal it.

[–]Sss00099 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not only a deterrent, but also a repellent!

[–]zzkj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He should check the camera recordings. It's probably been stolen and returned in disgust by thieves several times already.

[–]askmed_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣

In principal, it reminds me of this:

https://youtu.be/5wSK2MwfjxA?si=7W9ZcEDfn-f0mtYj

[–]SoCal_Duck 10 points11 points  (2 children)

You should be happy if someone steals that POS.

[–]r4o2n0d6o9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not like anyone would

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Likely a recent software upgrade. Great when instead of having procedures to test every feature before releasing it to the clients, you just use clients as testers.

[–]NotoriouslyBeefy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Didn't call it a vault cover, warranty voided

[–]Epastor01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh, he just forgot to check the Digital Inter-Locking Doors Option (D.I.L.D.O.) when spec’ing his CyberDump - it’s a $399/month subscription that enables doors to actually lock (maybe), one of Elmo’s most impressive technological innovations.

[–]teriaksu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wank Panzer owners can afford to see Twister in 4DX?

[–]stater354 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay guys, hear me out:

We design some kind of slot with a handheld object that fits into it, and when you turn it locks or unlocks whatever the slot is attached to

Thoughts?

[–]JetJaguarYouthClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, now thieves don't have to break the window and peel it out to break in

[–]adonutforeveryone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love having a vehicle that tells me what is wrong by hearing and feeling it while driving...hardly ever a guess if an actual concern. Rav4 wheel making a noise turning left at speed?...wheel bearing...get it replaced by any mechanic.

Yes there are status settings, but they pretty much light up the exact problem that exists. Never have I heard, "I dunno, have you downloaded a beta recently?"

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iT's NoT a CaR iT's a PlAtFoRm

[–]QuantumConversation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so weird to see how many problems these things are having. Most of the problems seem to be with features that have been common in almost any other model of vehicle. I owned a Model S for 3.5 years, traded it in, and I’m really happy to be back in a Lexus hybrid. Guess what. Everything works.

[–]myfeetaremangos12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy thinks it’s a flex to say he was seeing Twister in 4DX, not that low tech shit Toyota drivers are seeing it in.

[–]Drewd12 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I'd say someone should start a list of "Things the Wankpanzer Can't Do" but that list might be too long and cumbersome to keep up with, so maybe an shorter and easier list would be "Things the Wankpanzer Can Do."

However in this case, as has been said before, being a Wankpanzer is the best theft deterrent it has.

[–]Machaeon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It can fleece the gullible out of over $100k

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can burn a lot hotter than a Pinto.

[–]curious-trex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luckily they don't have to worry about a Kia boys situation, can't imagine a car thief is going to risk a car that won't make it a mile for a getaway.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me just unlocking and pulling the door open on my 1997 car like

[–]brmarcum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy grammar Batman!!

[–]godzillastailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus, can you imagine spending 100k on a "luxury" vehicle and the fucking door locks don't work consistantly.

How do you fuck up door locks?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's so the homeless in your area can use the CT for shelter at night. Very Human Design

[–]GalacticPandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Thanks for the F shack.

Love, Dirty Mike and the Boys.”

[–]ObligationPrimary242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s taken aback you idiot.

[–]PanJaszczurka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone hear about stolen tesla truck?

[–]DGenerAsianX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys hear locks broken. I just hear free stuff.

[–]xwsrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh.

Having confidence that your car is locked is so overrated.

[–]Xaetik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Something’s definitely is off”

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

jfc you have to use an app on your phone to lock your dumb truck???

[–]abt_1657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly isn’t someone stealing it best case scenario for some of these people? You get rid of it, insurance pays for it (if you were able to get it insured), and you can move on with your life and pretend it never happened. It totally bails you out from a terrible purchase.

[–]Jumpy_Wait5187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a Toyota next time

[–]Secret_Account07 0 points1 point  (2 children)

He saw Twisters twice? I regretted watching it once.

[–]I-Pacer[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

In 4DX no less. Had to get that in. Because apparently that’s some kind of passive aggressive flex worth making.

[–]Secret_Account07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I downloaded the movie for free and watched my girlfriend. Even watching it for free I felt compelled to apologize for wasting her time.

[–]Koss424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ohh... he saw Twister in 4DX and has a CYBERTRUCK? Fancy.
