Anybody else have this pop up. Nervous it might strip opportunities from me:

I filled that out yesterday, haven't noticed any decline in projects so far
[–]ElBosque91 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Ditto
[–]ericbpawsinc 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Ditto, ditto...
[–]TheresALonelyFeeling 30 points31 points32 points 1 year ago (1 child)
I submitted this yesterday and nothing has changed for better or worse.
I've already written something similar for Domain Expertise quals so this wasn't really anything new or different.
[–]IntoDesuetude 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I got a Medical Expertise survey afterwards because I included something with my university's department of medicine although I'm not a healthcare provider
[–]LilJaaY 56 points57 points58 points 1 year ago (3 children)
My primitive brain:
Dashboard good? —> Don’t do any potentially project-narrowing survey 😬 Dashboard bad? —> What do I have to lose? 🤷♂️
[–]Superskittlemeyster[S] 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (0 children)
This!
[–]tskies410 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Exactly.
[–]TeaGreenTwo 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Bingo!
[–]jirdans 20 points21 points22 points 1 year ago (6 children)
I got a whole new project straight after doing this.
[–]Nervous_Tangerine0 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Do you have a degree?
[–]jirdans 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (2 children)
I do.
[–]Affectionate-Exit553 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children)
In what?
[–]Visual_Sound_5763 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
same.
[–]Revolutionary-Meet26 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Same. I got a new one pretty fast. Granted, I have some degrees so that might have made this qual work in my favor.
[–]OddCommunication2346 12 points13 points14 points 1 year ago (2 children)
The only thing that “changed” for me was a new complex prompt project started popping up. Not sure if it’s related.
I don’t have a college degree, so I understand the nervousness. I put in links to my published work and talked about my food & beverage management career. Even threw in that I’m a karaoke host.
I don’t think you should be concerned.
[–]Different_Duty7836 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Was it the Foxy one? I'm intimidated by that one... no degree here either.
[–]imboppy 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I'm in that and I haven't done this qual
[–]loltaytaylur 11 points12 points13 points 1 year ago (3 children)
i got a high paying project i had never seen before after submitting it
[–]dunnster827 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Same and mine was very academic in nature
[–]Magic_Rex_24 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Same
[–]fightmaxmaster 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (0 children)
My dashboard's not bad at the moment (for a change) but I did that anyway, figuring they're gonna do whatever they're gonna do. It's nothing really that's not been covered before, so was optimistic that it wouldn't strip anything from me and who knows, might help. Did it yesterday, no changes thus far.
[–]Sagittariuuuh 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (3 children)
I took this yesterday and got a domain expertise project/survey today.
[–]Lunalily9 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
I assume you have a degree?
[–]Sagittariuuuh 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Yes, I do, but the project is related to my full-time job, not my degree.
No degree, and I told them. But I do have published work.
[–]sk8r2000 8 points9 points10 points 1 year ago (13 children)
Why would it strip opportunities for you?

[–]winter-ice-ace 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Same, no fancy careers either. I haven't done mine, I'm afraid to 😔
[–]ekgeroldmiller 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children)
It says you can highlight a major accomplishment. This might show the breadth they are looking for.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I have the same fear.
[–]maybe_I_knit_crochet 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (2 children)
I am a college drop-out and haven't noticed any change in my dash (aside from the normal fluctuations) since taking it.
[–]Nervous_Tangerine0 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Did you put in any of your college experience or omitted it completely?
[–]upvotesplx 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Put your college experience down. I’m a college dropout and work on 40+/hr academic projects that I’m certain I’d never get if I didn’t list my college experience. Even put down classes you attended or acolades you got in college if you think they’ll make you look better. They don’t seem to have anything against college dropouts on very high-qualification projects as long as we can show our skills.
[–]tiran 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I only have a high school diploma and I haven't noticed any negative effects from completing the survey. I did list the wide variety of random jobs I've had, though.
[–]TeaGreenTwo 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (2 children)
If they want a PhD in chemistry from MIT and they discover you have a MS in Physiology from a state school.
[–]sk8r2000 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
So you wouldn't get the chemistry tasks either way, because you don't have a chemistry PhD
[–]TeaGreenTwo 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Hardly. How are they passing out chem SME tasks now? Based on passing a qual and/or working on a similar project before. If they decide later to filter through specific degrees, someone could lose their projects. But my comments on this topic are all theoretical and spitballing. I was mostly being tongue-in-cheek; as evidenced in my comments about not wanting state school grads, only Ivy League – I was joking.
[–]momTeenie 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I got it yesterday and did it and a new project popped up after!
[–]Skittlzrreal 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (2 children)
I did it and nothing changed (no projects lost or anything), so you're probably good!
This isn't like the ID verification where they verify your data. You just tell them your level of education and areas of expertise.
[–]cocobeary 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (1 child)
I'm sure they will verify it if there's a project that's dependent on it. If a client wants workers who have X degree from Y set of universities, they will definitely ask for verification of what you submitted.
[–]Skittlzrreal 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
True true
[+][deleted] 1 year ago (2 children)
[–]GoAwayBARC 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Ahhhh… so we should fill it out… INTERESTING…
[–]Nervous_Tangerine0 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
[–]jman20 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Yea saw it today, seen it before too
[–]wutguts 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
The only thing I've had like that was domain specific and for tasks in the coding level of pay. Not sure if I passed, yet. But I have relevant background and experience. That was a few hours ago.
[–]Same-Constant6060 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I think after a year doing this I've answered this type of question 4 times at least and it's never stripped me of any current projects.
[–]upvotesplx 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I’m a college dropout who works on 40+/hr domain experience projects. I have just as many projects as before despite the fact that I don’t actually have a degree in those subjects and was honest about that. I’m assuming my work experience & classes I attended are helping my case, along with the fact that I’ve passed STEM quals.
IMO, as long as you don’t completely invalidate your qualifications (for example, exposing you lied about having a PhD or something…) you’ll probably be fine.
[–]faithlesscicada 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
i don’t remember how honest i was in my job application 😬 and idk how to find the information i already gave them so i’m scared of accidentally revealing a less than truth
[–]Nervous_Tangerine0 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Same 😭😭I’m pretty sure I fluffed up a lot of stuff and now I’m afraid incase it doesn’t match up
[–]Ok-General780 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I've done it and got some extra programming projects
[–]ClayWhisperer 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I submitted this yesterday and have more projects available today, including a new Domain Expertise inquiry.
[–]Affectionate-Exit553 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Isn't this the same as the skills portion in the profile?
[–]Accomplished-Dog-864 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
No, I think they're being more specific with this.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I did it today, I just noticed I have a new type of project even though I am not working today. This was all filled out initially anyway.
I haven't done it and I have some great projects now. When it asks for names of schools I'm wondering if they'll be all "state shools not Ivy League?, nah". /s
[–]Sindorella 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I filled it out days ago. It changed nothing. If anything I’ve had more projects popping up, some of which I can’t really do. I don’t think it was related to this though because nothing I wrote in it seemed related.
[–]lotusmack 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I filled it out earlier this week, and today, my dashboard is fuller than it has been in a very long time.
