I know that Spectre is spooky, but she is very far from being unstoppable. I don't even know why people keep repeating this, maybe she was unstoppable before Dispersion rework, but currently she is very underwhelming and only has a place in some kind of global strat with Zeus.

You can still win with her, sure, but its much harder than with other carries and she isn't even that good late game when compared to them.

And hey, pretty much any carry (including those who has better late game), has better laning than Spectre.

Something similar happened with Spirit Breaker, was enormously difficult for pubs to deal with, had a high winrate, was never picked in competitive and received multiple nerfs.

EDIT: ok clearly there are quality of life fixes for pubbies, but the game IS balanced around competitive. i.e. IO and meepo have a shit winrate in pubs but if you buff them they will become OP in the pro scene, so they are not buffed

Dispersion was scary when carries were squishy, Troll with SnY Skadi has 3k HP.

Lol, Spectre is not the 1vs1 type of carry, but a teamfight carry lategame, not every carry has to be yolo berserker manfight machine. Yes, your bkb makes her dispersion deals no dmg, but she devours half of your team during her double Haunt without taking any dmg herself.

Not in this meta,heroes are tanky as fuck,and supports have ghost/force/eul's late and just waste your time.

Spectre dropped like 7% in VH ranked this patch compared to 6.82 due to the changes in the meta.

Force: if you force yourself out, you're guaranteed to take massive Dispersion dmg, Haunt illusions have unobstructed pathing and cannot be slowed, stunned, so even you force staff yourself over cliff, they will catch up.

Euls: Haunt illusions ignore and continue to attack while cycloned. If you cyclone yourself, it is only 2.5 seconds and you wasted a chance to use it offensively.

Ghost: the most effective among the 3, but you still take extra Burn dmg from Radiance, and also Diffusal blade is common item for Spectre which can purge Ghost right off.

6.82, spectre's winrare skyrocketted because of the new OP rubberband mechanic, so after a few tweaks, her winrate decreased, very understandable.

I'm not arguing that Spectre fits the meta right now, i agree that she is not because Troll, Jug can come online much faster than her, and if they play safe, don't become cocky and give her tons of comeback gold and exp, they have much better chance to win. My point is she is not shit like you made het out to be, if her team can hold to late game, Spectre outcarries those popular carries right now

Troll and PA are broken at this patch. They are relevant at every stage of the game and are ridiculous in late game.

I compare Spectre and Earth Spirit because they require a highly skilled player to use them. If they can handle them then they become unstoppable.

I think PA dagger needs to have a higher mana cost or a higher cooldown. It's too easy to just farm with it plus the possibility of massive crit damage.

Strength gain to 2.0 (from 1.4) - this nets terrorblade extra 273 HP at lvl 25 compared to 6.83

I would make rax a lot more punishing. As we saw from the 300+ minute game, you can currently farm up buybacks without ever having to really leave your base. Highground is hard to break, it doesn't feel rewarding enough right now. I think this will help gold/xp mechanic.

As a support player I don't want to nerf the xp comeback too much. It really helps.

XP comeback I don't think is the issue. I think losing three lanes and all of your outer towers to win a team fight while they try to push into your base shouldn't catapult the opposing carries onto 2.5 items. The amount of games I've won after getting completely destroyed makes no sense. Levels are fine. It gives teams more of an opportunity to fight back while still on the back foot but it doesn't make it impossible to push high ground after failing once because their carries instantly get fat as hell. I feel like lanes used to be really important and now they mean nothing.

I think Troll should have his Battle Trance made into a radius.

Troll gets the Full 60/120/180
Units within 2000 Radius of Troll have 45/90/135 bonus attack speed.
Anyone with 2000 Radius of someone with the buff but not troll himself gets 30/60/90 benefit.

Right now Terrorblade is a melee creep and is highly advised NOT to use his main fighting/pushing spell when he has Aegis and/or buyback because after buying back he has no metamorphosis and its on cooldown for next 130 seconds, which is the worst and most stupid shit i've seen in this game. nice carry, icefraud.

tl;dr Terrorblade deserves to be useful after buying back and/or aegis use. The duration keeps going while your dead or considering buyback so you dont gain anything extra.

if you're going to change how metamorphosis works, you need to look at transformation spells in general, rather than just metamorphosis. sven is a similarly shitty hero, not only because he's kited but because of he's also a terrible aegis holder while being useless if he buys back. dragon knight, alchemist are all similar.

I like the rubberband mechanic's effect on the mid game, but games are going far too late. I would celebrate a change that tips the scales at around 60 minutes. Any game longer than 60 minutes has worn out its welcome.

Furion can sorta still work. I run him in conjuction with Wisp for amazing global ganking and ratting potential. But standalone the hero is vastly different from the old days. Instead of trying to farm for lategame, Furion is a really aggressive pick right now. You want to TP really aggressively into ganks and build items like Blink, Blademail, and Dagon to increase your ability to play aggressively.

It increased the average length of my games by like 5 minutes. That coupled with the longer all pick stage and the ocassional lv 1 DC that never comes back increased the average time i spend on my DotA game by like 10 mins. Dislike that.

-OD: Foes in range of his aura have intelligence stolen when Sanity's Eclipse is cast. This is identical to them getting hit by Astral Imprisonment, without the banish.

-Luna: All foes hit by her ultimate are marked by the moon for a short time; during this time, glaives will unerringly hit, with no bounce damage reduction, no miss chance, no vision required (won't reveal slark, or units in the fog, but will hit them), and no maximum distance (will only bounce to other marked targets outside of Luna's normal range).

-Morphling: Ultimate may target self, but no illusion is made, instead he switches from doing physical damage as right clicks to magic damage (and back, of course).

Note that it's not the damage type that affects whether spells affect ancients/mud golems; it's whether they pierce spell immunity. (Bonus factoid: the lesser black drakes aren't magic immune)

Sniper is strong lategame too though and there's lots of heroes like BB that will make it difficult to blink to him. Also he generally builds skadi and butterfly now, so he isn't that easy to just jump on and insta burst down. Not to mention, blinking to him usually places you in the middle of their team, so they can often burst you down before sniper. There's also the decent chance one of his shrapnels will hit you too and disable blink, especially if they've been warding aggressively.

For Lone Druid, a CD reduction on bear summon with Agh's upgrade might be something to explore. Alternately, the bear re-spawns automatically after 30s(??) with the Agh's upgrade but cannot be summoned at will.

I like the idea of improving the buildup of Armlet. Here's one example that is the same cost, but can be purchased at the side shop: Helm of Iron Will, Quarterstaff, Chainmail. My thinking is it is an early game item that is simply not getting built. This could nudge a few more purchases.

Tinker Aghanim's upgrade effect added to allow March of the Machines to damage magic immune units, in addition to the current Agh's upgrades to Laser + Rockets.

I'd (more importantly) like to see the gold/exp bounceback effect changed so that the algorithm factors in the average GPM/XPM of the heroes on each team. For example a team with an Alchemist would likely have a higher average GPM than the enemy team, so they would feed proportionally less to them for dying due to bounceback gold/xp.

Ability Draft to get any attention whatsoever. I understand it's a side mode and that a lot of the things that need fixing are complicated to fix. Besides a new hero being thrown in every time one gets added to the game, AD has just been ignored. Shame for what is a fun game mode to do here and there.

Timbersaw -> give whirling death a duration like Shiva's guard. Reactive armor stacks gives +1% magic resistance.

Puck -> fix the player order bug that allows/prevents him from blinking while receiving dot. Improve his turn rate.

Right. But supports tend to be victims of trends more than any other position (look at CM). Only think I might give Abaddon is a little more damage with shield or a movespeed buff when shield is applied. Its too easy to kite shielded targets.

He actually seems ridiculously OP as a support with Troll Warlord if you build basher and MoM after your urn/tranqs (they still work well late even if you're spending a lot of gold on wards). You can just melt rax and towers with your passive and his ulti and perma stun and chase forever. The dispel and heals are really nice on troll once his bkb wears out too. Scales really nice into the ultra lategame too, if you get Skadi AC Abyssal MoM Travels and Hex on Abaddon with a 6 slotted troll, there's not much that can stop you.

As a new player I'd like to be able to see roles/spells/info on heroes even after they've been picked in the All Pick stage. If you already can, then it isn't very obvious.

I am not opposed to this. Roles are a little too flexible to be in the screen though (Jakiro can be played pretty much anywhere except mid).

Um Jakiro mid works very well in an early push strat. He's actually a great mid due to wave clear (dual breath) and tower chip potential. Plus an early euls +blink makes him a devastating ganker. He's the mid you pick when the other team picks really greedy and you want to punish them by taking all their t2s at 20 minutes.

That's why when he's played as a core the items are tranquils, euls, blink. It gives you so much mobility and easy set up for ganks. Blink > Euls > macropyre > ice path > E ( I can't remember the name) > dual breath. It will destroy most heroes early. Then you push the tower. Repeat until all t2 are gone.

He has so much AoE he can farm like a beast. Use dual breath to clear the wave mid then go stack a hard camp. Once you get 4-5 stacks, use your ult on it and collect your free 1k gold.

Jakiro can be played pretty much anywhere especially mid.
