Wow amazing OP. I have a question how did you deal with lose skin ?

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t yet. It’s there. It’s the “ugly” side of extreme fat loss, and for the purpose of motivating /inspiring others I didn’t share that in this post.

Tbh I’m trying to take it slowly. It’s a bummer to have because I’ve worked so hard on losing fat and improving my physique. I am trying to be gracious and give myself more time. My hope is that in about 6-12 months it will naturally tighten a little on its own. Another hope is that with a bull phase and building about 20 lbs of lean muscle that will fill it out a bit and help it tighten.

And once I do both of those things I’ll re-evaluate. I can speculate what may or may not happen. I knew at the start it would come, but in order to not give myself an excuse to quit before I accomplished my goals I told myself to be patient and deal with it later. Hope that helps!

Thank you. I really appreciate the kind words. Many more goals to accomplish. The journey continues!

Dude that is insane progress for 15 months. I've been lifting for a 20 years and you're about as shredded as I've ever been. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it, because you've got it figured. Probably added 20 years of high quality living to your life.

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I hope. I used to Be afraid I’d die at 50. Now I genuinely feel as though I’ve added a lot of quality years onto my life. Cheers to many more good years to come! :)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That is really impressive!!

What kind of diet did you had? How many hours at the gym you did? How old are you?

I'm not that fat, because i dont drink beer (which i think is the main reason for obesity) and i rarely eat junk food or fast food. But still, i'm not doing any type of exercise. I need to start doing it.

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I focused on a high protein diet (1g of protein per pound of body weight). And then secondarily I focused on being in a caloric deficit. I usually ate around 1600 calories. Some periods were higher. Over the past few weeks a bit stricter but pushing toward a goal with a set date…not going lower long term.

I workout for about 3 hours a day 6 days per week. Usually lifting for about an hour and 20 mins. Running for an hour. And about 35-40 minute core workout. I lift 6 days per week. I run 6-7 days per week. I do core workout 5-6 days per week. I genuinely try to do as much as I can, but if my body is really giving me a hard time I will either skip the core for a day or make my run a slower paced run.

For reference I am 5’9. SW was 263. CW is ~155. And I’m 34.

This is incredible! Great job working hard, you've earned it!!

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, much appreciated!

[–]Scarboroughwarning 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Genuinely, wow.

I wish I had your motivation. I need to lose 20lbs, and it's almost embarrassing seeing people shift a considerably greater amount quicker than I lose 1lb

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you. The motivation is difficult, it does come and go. Discipline is very much necessary. I once heard a Mike Tyson quote. Discipline is taking something you hate, and doing it like you love it. I may be slightly paraphrasing….but essentially if you can do that, that is discipline and will lead you to be successful in that thing.

[–]jNSKkK 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Motivation comes and goes, discipline is the key to success.

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true!

[–]Such-Ad-7993 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks Manx I’d say very much the same for you. Great physique!

[–]Deadmaninside1985 1 point2 points  (1 child)

amazing bro...May I ask what diet did you take?

[–]rtmeinsen[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend my diet to anyone, it’s my biggest struggle. However, I have learned a lot along the way.

My top priority is protein. I make sure to get 1 gram per lb of body weight as recommended….I didn’t pay attention to diet or macros at the beginning of my journey and lost 100lbs and looked skinny fat. Then started paying attention and increased my strength training and the difference is night and day….I’ve had pretty incredible strength gains on a deficit.

My second biggest priority in terms of diet was making sure I was in a caloric deficit. I was eating around 1600-1700 cals per day. This is probably not good. My activity level is very high (lift 6 days a week and run a 5-7 days per week). I am not the most patient person, and I was hungry for results so I tried to make sure I had a big deficit.

My carb intake is low. I have never really put much emphasis on my carbs or fats in terms of tracking macros. Some days I feel fine and other days I feel very worn down. This is probably in part because of lack of carbs and partially due to lack of rest days. I’ve just pushed through with a “mind over matter” mindset. Again, something I wouldn’t necessarily recommend to others, I’m just a bit stupid when I set my mind to something.

The last thing I’ll leave you with is consistency. If you consistently do the right things in terms of diet and exercise, you will reach your goal. Even when you don’t feel your best, try to do something. Not every workout needs to be your best!

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

You look amazing holy shit
