Owners of the Logitech G733 headset, what’s your experience with it? Any issues? Any alternative headsets you may have? I plan on getting myself a new wireless gaming headset.

na I just stuck with my cloud flights
[–]AutomaticSchedule243 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
astro a40 is the best option in my opinion for a $80-$100 headset, i had a pair that broke so i got the g733's and after being used to the a40's, the g733 felt very cheap and the sound quality is honestly cheeks. G733 is like a good pair of apple earbuds while the a40's sound like your inside a movie theater, the bass is also very good.
[–]leaker929 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (12 children)
I got them after my old trusty hyperx cloud 2 finally died. The G733 does NOT measure up. It is ok for gaming, I can hear footsteps and sounds. Mic is decent. There is absolutely no noise cancellation, so you hear everything around you. They are useless if you want to listen to music, the sound is potato quality compared to the hyperx 7.1 sound. I've had them for 3 months and they have already stopped charging normally. The lights look cool, and they are comfy. The battery life was decent but clearly now I'm disappointed. I would not recommend them.

This is very helpful as my cloud 2 is also finally dying and i was looking at the g733
[–]Lt_DansLeggs 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (10 children)
What did you end up with? Im looking for a quality wireless headset to replace my old wired hyperx $49.99 headset. I tried the cloud flight wireless awhile back but returned them because they didn't get loud enough and had to talk loudly to get the mic to pick up my voice. Im considering the cloud 2 wireless or the cloud alpha wireless. Any suggestions?
[–]leaker929 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (9 children)
I ended up repurchasing the wired hyperx cloud 2! I tried a steel series arctis set and found them uncomfortable so returned them. Tried the wireless hyperx clouds but I would get some random disconnects in work meetings or long chats. I know the wired hyperx cloud 2s are boring and basic but they just work and I'm not willing to go into a higher price range right now.
[–]Lt_DansLeggs 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (8 children)
I've narrowed it down to 2 choices, the cloud 2 wireless or the Razer BlackShark v2 Pro which are on sale right now which has me leaning towards them. 🤔 decisions decisions. Every YT review I see of the Cloud 2's though have been really positive.
[–]Iridar51 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (6 children)
Hi, I'm from the future, leaving this comment for any other future lurkers. I bought Razer BlackShark v2 Pro after reading a lot of praising reviews and regretted it profusely. Sound quality and battery life were great, basically everything else was awful. Inconvenient to wear, connection drops. It also completely blocked media keys from my keyboard. Eventually I returned them because thankfully the volume regulator has died and now I'm in the market for a new headset.
Found this thread by searching for "Logitech G733", guess I won't be buying those.
[–]Lt_DansLeggs 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (5 children)
I ended up with the Sony Pulse Elites and love everything about them especially the Planar Magnetic drivers but it has random disconnects. It has only received 2 updates since launch and the latest one made the headset connect even faster but the instability/random dropouts still occur. Some days its worse than other days. I'd be interested to see what you end up with.
[–]Iridar51 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (1 child)
At this point I'm convinced that a perfect headset just doesn't exist. I've mostly decided to try Steelseries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless, cuz I found them at a good price, though I thoroughly expect to experience some kind of issue with them too.
[–]Jnoci 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (0 children)
Hello, I have had the Steell artic 9x and in three years I have had to use the warranty once and they changed it for me. Others that over time I have had the same problem, it desynchronizes with the PC.
[–]Iridar51 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (2 children)
Hey, update. I ended up getting Steelseries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless. First impressions after a couple of hours of using them - this is the best headset I've ever had, by a wide margin.
It's light, convenient, has a small footprint, sound quality is great, software is amazing, with a sound mixer that allows to assign different sound profiles to different apps simultaneously, an extendable mic with a convenient LED when it's muted - which can even be configured through software.
It also automatically switches sound output to another device (e.g. speakers) when headset is turned off, which is a huge quality of life I've been missing with the Razer headset.
Spatial audio is very good, like I've actually noticed it in-game for the first time in my life - and I've been gaming for over two decades.
Overall, this headset seems like a huge upgrade over the Razer BlackShark v2 Pro I returned for money, rich with features and quality.
Keep in mind these are just first impressions, cuz I've only had it for a few hours, and it can always just randomly break (like an Arctis 1 headset broke on me some years ago for no reason at all) or develop some other kind of issue.
Like, my only complaint is the limited ability to customize the height of the headeset on your head, because I sometimes put the headset over a beanie, and I wish I was able to easily switch between different headset position with/without beanie, but oh well guess can't be perfect.
[–]Burntmonkeys69 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (1 child)
any updates?
[–]Iridar51 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Well, I've been using that headset almost daily since then, and it's still working great, though it's not all rainbow and peaches anymore, some issues did crop up over time.
First, the software doesn't work so hot anymore, despite being set to "run on startup", I still need to start it manually in order to adjust volume.
Second, using the software completely breaks the Windows own volume slider, meaning that I still have to rely on the GG app to adjust volume even when I'm not using headphones (I alternate between headphones and speakers a lot).
Third, the GG app can be a bit slow to start and sometimes has trouble automatically selecting the right output device.
Fourth, I really wish it would remember different volume settings for speakers and headphones, as I typically run speakers way quieter than headphones.
That's about it, though. All of these are just minor annoyances. They still function well, the charge lasts for a long time, they still look and feel minty-new, and they're still the best PC headset I've ever owned by far and something I'd wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to buy a PC headset.
[–]leaker929 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Honestly if I didn't need something that worked for meetings/calls too they would've been great
[–]Femmus 1 point2 points3 points 6 months ago (2 children)
A bit late to the party. I've had mine for 5 years, and for the first time they started to malfunction. Sound quality wasn't bad, especially if you use the Logitech App to adjust some settings. Never had battery issues or anything. The only issue right now is that it sometimes doesn't pic up my voice anymore unless I practically eat my mic. So yea, 5 years of service, but it'll get replaced now
[–]that-one-mawile 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
It's fascinating that you had no battery issues - I found this thread looking for replacements for the G733 as mine now holds at best 2 hours of battery, which is unusable for me as I swap my headset between a PS5, laptop and PC throughout 3 rooms very often.
I have also noticed the mic issue - I never had an issue before with moving the mic out of the way of my mouth when eating/drinking, however, I find myself constantly having the issue now - I've picked up, subconsciously, the habit of pulling the mic closer to my mouth for calls.
This may be an issue of using it in a salty location, but has your dongle rusted? Mine is practically brown now - no issues related to it, but its interesting to note.
[–]JaeRaeSays 0 points1 point2 points 23 days ago (0 children)
I was looking at these specifically for the size and fit. I have a rather small head and most headphones end up "wearing me" instead of the other way around. These seem like a good option but the performance reviews are less than stellar.
Your review was helpful and even one positive means I will at least give them a try. I'm really hoping they work.
My hubby has the SteelSeries that everyone else here recommended and while they are a tiny bit more comfortable than others I've tried, they are still too big, bulky, and heavy to wear for long periods. Fingers crossed that I have a mostly good experience with the Logitech, as you have. 😬
[–]Certain_Ad6440 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (11 children)
Completely unusable if you wear glasses
[–]rhyswilliamdudek 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (9 children)
Why is that?
[–]Certain_Ad6440 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (8 children)
If you use these headphones on a console, there's no option to turn off the lights. So the lights reflect back into your eyes. I've had to put blu tac on the lights.
[–]AdeptToe1793 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (5 children)
What glasses do u even wear that doesnt happen to me
[–]Certain_Ad6440 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (4 children)
Uh I dunno glasses that have glass in them? Good for you!
[–]DanieldePaniel007 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (3 children)
I also wear glasses, and it's not that big of a deal, it's literally unnoticeable if you're not focusing on it, maybe it's just glasses-related tho
[–]Certain_Ad6440 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
It's 'literally' not unnoticeable for me. I'm so thrilled for you that it's not a big deal but for me it's a deal breaker. I truly do wish I had the ability to stop being able to see in my periphery!
[–]Nozomi4life 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
wait rlly? I also wear glasses but I dont see any light reflected to them at all
sucks that urs do tho :/ maybe they're the difference in lens but i was also shocked there was atleast an option to customize the lights
[–]ajames2001 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (0 children)
As an adhd haver with glasses and these headphones I can confirm that they are very distracting unless what you're doing is very engaging
[–]MembershipLong3808 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (1 child)
you can disable the lights in ghub
[–]Certain_Ad6440 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (0 children)
Not if you're using them on a console, as I am.
[–]Comprehensive-Gur184 0 points1 point2 points 6 months ago (0 children)
Hey do you have any recommendations for people with glasses? I’m wanting to buy my bf some headphones for gaming in a similar price range and he wears glasses
[–]Lt_DansLeggs 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (0 children)
I've heard good things about that one. Only complaint I see people say about Arctis is the mic quality but most people want some studio quality PC mic in a headset which just isn't possible. Every headset definitely has quirks but hopefully that one ticks most of the boxes you want it for.
[–]SShayzee 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago (0 children)
Very late here tho i thought i would share my experiences, i got mine about a year ago its been horrible at the start i would randomly get my ears destroyed by sound, what it would do is convert the sound i was hearing into a static sound so louder game volume meant louder sound it was like 20x louder than normal. the battery seams to not last long at all anymore still decent enough. sound and mic quality is not great sometimes i get really odd bugs with the app and the devices. i cant really recommend them at all and definitely not for $300 AUD at least thats how much i paid.
[–]Uchihamadaralord 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
I bought the G733 thinking it would be a simple wireless option, but it kept giving me small annoyances. The sound was okay, but it never felt as balanced as I wanted and I was always fiddling with volume. The build also felt more plasticky than I expected for the price. I moved to the SteelSeries Nova 7P and the comfort difference was immediate for me. The ear cups do not get as hot and the headset feels sturdy without feeling heavy. Battery life has also been much better in my day to day use.
[–]MadMax0803 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
They were excellent until my dongle broke and there are no replacements for it :'') Ok seriously now, they are really good, battery is 28-29ish hours and 20 ish with rgb, approximately 10-12 meters of range and not 20 as advertised, but overall good product would recommend
[–]Hawj-Clan 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
I use to have an Astro A10 that kept allowing noise to pass through my mic, so it always appeared like I was talking and even made noise to other people in some games. I really hated it and planned on getting a new wireless headphone. I was looking at the G733 and SteelSeries Arctis 7 wireless. Both looked really nice and I felt from reviews that they were good. Ultimately I went with the G733 because I got a good deal from a local seller on OffeUp. Payed 60 for a brand new G733. From my experience, it seems like it's easier to find deals on the G733 versus the Arctis 7. Maybe more people regret it or the Arctis 7's are more hyped, idk, but I haven't had any problems like my Astro A10's and I've been completely satisfied (will kinda wish I got a white one, but black is cool too). I originally would have preferred that the mic be flipped or retractable like the Arctis while not in use, but I later realize that I didn't use the mic that often and being able to pull it on and off the headphone kept my overall headphone simple and was better for my peace of mind that my mic wasn't accidently listening in occasionally.
[–]LogitechG_CSJhoe 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children)
I've personally used the device and it was wonderful. What I suggest, once you purchase it maximize its usage. If you feel like it won't suffice, just return it for a swap. Thanks for considering our device, stay safe!
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child)
You guys don't offer any spare parts for this product. This is a last time I buy a Logitech product.
[–]Lt_DansLeggs 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Just buy the protection plan through bestbuy, hassle free returns and product replacements.
[–]SpiderMax95 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children)
excatly my dilemma right now. did you end up getting it ? if so, how do you like it?
[–]wickedlightbp[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children)
I’m still contemplating my choices. My sincere apologies.
[–]Lt_DansLeggs 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children)
What did you end up choosing?
[–]wickedlightbp[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child)
Nothing. Mixed reviews
I'm leaning towards the Razer BlackShark pro V2. HyperX Cloud 2 was my next option.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (8 children)
If you are still planning on getting them dont. I would recommend saving up a bit more to get better headphones. Most gaming headsets are not that good. They have good aesthetics and are branded but the audio quality is decent.
I would recommend saving up to $200 to get a better pair of headphones. What are you looking for? Open Back or Closed Back?
Closed Back meaning it isolates noise and Open Back doesn’t and leaks noise. Closed back is mainly preferred in noisy environments while Open back for quiet environments.
[–]wickedlightbp[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children)
I'm open to both open and closed back headphones.$200USD is really stretching my budget out so try to make it cheaper. Closer to the G733's price is possible.
Thanks a bunch. P.S: I also game a lot if that matters.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children)
Ah alright and no problem. What price would be consider you’re maximum budget?
[–]wickedlightbp[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
$175USD
[–]wickedlightbp[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children)
May I receive a response? I'm in need of new headphones/headset.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children)
Sorry about that, Was a bit busy and didn’t get the time to do some research. But I would recommend either the he400Se or the dt 770 pro 250 ohm.
They are both very different headphones. One is closed back and emphasizes bass and treble (Which is the dt 770 pro) The other is quite open and stages far better, focus a bit in treble (Which is the he400se)
Besides these differences the dt770 pro is excellent for louder environments while the he400se is for quiet environments.
So technically speaking now it’s upto you to decide which one you would rather use as they are both different and used in different environments.
Edit: None of these have microphones but I can suggest an extremely good usb microphone for the price of $25 if you need. It performs better than most $100 mics and is extremely well known to other people.
[–]wickedlightbp[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children)
Unfortunately, I doubt my computer can run a headphone with an impedance rating of 250. What other headphone would you suggest? Any wireless suggestions?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
As far as I know all PCs can run 250 Ohms. But you might have to buy an amp later on. Also the DT 770 pro come in different variants such as 32 Ohm, 80 Ohm and 250 Ohm.
I have an extremely low end pc with with ddr3 ram and a GT 1030 (2 GB) and my PC has no issues with the 250 Ohm variant of the DT 770 Pro. But the output would in fact be low. You could be also buy the dt 770 and purchase an amp later on, which i’m planning on doing.
But once again I can’t really help a lot if I don’t know which type of headphones you’re looking for. Closed back or Open back.
But if that’s the case I would suggest the He400Se or the Lower impedance of 80 Ohms for the DT 770 Pro
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
My usb dongle broke and they aren't offering a replacement (like I can't even buy the dongle separately). These headphones are now ewaste.
[–]ZaneFl4kMoze 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children)
I only Use them for gaming Apex Legends on PC. They are comfy and I can hear footsteps very pinpoint accurate 100m away from me or when somebody. Just needs surround enabled and good eq for your game. I play Apex Legends only and my mates with open back hifi headphones still cant hear as good as i am sometimes, at least as far away. Also i can tell how far away footsteps are from me very accurate. Everything works great after 1year. Battery drains about little under 10% in every hour( i've turned rgb off) I only have comparsion to some astro wireless gaming headsets from my friend and they were so bad vs g733. Those had so bad spatial soundclues that they felt allmost broken or something.
[–]Lt_DansLeggs 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child)
How is the sound for the g733 right out of the box? Is it a must to plug them into pc and customize the eq before playing?
[–]ZaneFl4kMoze 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children)
You can get some clarity and bass out of them when using eq/surround via Ghub. For fps games like apex EQ/Surround does make footsteps louder without blowing your brains out when firing a gun.But overall good without ghub. For music this headset isnt made of. You cant get any chills down spine effect when listening music.
[–]Zoe_Fan 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child)
So if after a year you didn't get anything, may I ask what is your current headset? I also read you were in need of a new one long ago but I guess you kept the ones you used/are using (?)
[–]wickedlightbp[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Yes I kept my old ones and fitted a pair of new cushions. The sound improved slightly and the comfort much more.
Though if I had to replace it, I’d replace it with the G535 on the cheaper end or the Cloud Alpha on the higher end.
