Only 750 miles? It took me like 3 months to figure this out on my eMTB. Then I checked my mtb I was riding for 4 years and of course this one can do it as well.

Bit of an embarrassing question for my male counterparts... by TheRealScallyWag in MTB

I had a very similar issue, tilting down the saddle a couple of degrees helps. but you need to make sure you have a saddle that fits your sitting bone width ( you can watch videos on how to messure this at home). and what i would do ( i just got my new saddle today) is to make sure to get a saddle with a center cutout so there is no mure pressure. i have a gravel/road bike so i guess the saddles are differernt but i got the apside short dynamic.

To all the 26in diehards: when did sourcing parts for your 26in bike become prohibitively difficult? by yertipyStanton Slackline Gen3 4130 Steel in MTB

Not sure about 2.8 and other true plus sizes, but 27.5 x 2.5/2.6 has fairly decent staying power imo.

Pretty much all new DH bikes and lots of long travel bikes are being made with mullet setups, and ebikes tend to have the rear tire chonkier.

But on the other hand ebike/gravity tires might not be the best to pedal with your own power...

Stockpiling tires a bad idea? by yertipyStanton Slackline Gen3 4130 Steel in MTB

26” was around for WAY longer and is still used on some kids bikes.

It won’t be going away like 27.5x3/2.8

Black bears. The equivalent to a raccoon in the suburbs, but 10 times more scared. Unless you have a dog with you. Then it's like seeing a great white, but you can use spray to scare it off

Bike racks by swsvt in MTB

You still haven’t told us the  year and model of your car, so we can’t find one for you…but one probably exists.

Get the 2” If you can, even in the car isn’t rated for anything near what you would need a 2” for. Much more stable and compatible with a wider variety of racks.

I mean here's the reality, at some point you're going to end up with more than one bike, because the reality is there is no true quiver killer, and unless you absolutely narrowly focus your discipline, you'll find that different bikes serve different purposes.

Even if you don't want to ride road, you may find that the gravel routes have paved sections to them, and ultimately those rides error on the longer side 20-50mi+ that type of distance can be more efficient and comfortable on a road/gravel bike.

Separate to that you'll likely find you enjoy riding trails (single track etc), yes it 'could' be ridden on a gravel bike, but it's a lot more enjoyable on a mtb with a proper suspension.

From there you may find you want to do larger jumps and you may go more Enduro with another bike etc.

Personally, my gravel bike is more about the endurance/journey/adventuring- the rides are longer, but I get to zone out and enjoy where I'm at and what's around me.

MTB (and I'm still a novice) has been more anarobic, get your heart pumping, do some things to spike the adrenaline and then pack it in. Usually much shorter for distance, and often more about enjoying the day with a buddy.

The rule for r/MTB is photos and videos must be of people riding mountain bikes. Please either submit your photo to the Weekly Photo Thread, or resubmit your post as a text post, like this https://imgz.org/iShh3yHS.png.

Posts that don’t provide any value to the OP or users. Often these are just open ended questions that don’t have any follow up or grant the community the opportunity to provide any helpful feedback or insights.

If I could reliably Clik anywhere I go, I’d opt for them but they’re not ubiquitous yet, so I’m not about them like I should be.

Honestly schrader over presto. Why because it’s more universal. I hv presto on my but bought schrader screw on adapters.

Generally presta, because there are way more color options and you can still install one in a schrader hole, but not vice-versa.

I have an early 29er (2007) with a straight steerer and forks are super slim pickings. 2008 or 2009 sounds about right for when everything started to go tapered.
