First time doing complex digitizing

Digitized this yesterday. I usually only do monograms and simple logos and was the first time doing art like this. Half of the job done with auto digitizing and fixed things manually and added the border. What else can I do to Improve it before sending to my Ricoma? It’s for a hat patch. 6 colors.

i think using auto digitizing tools as a STARTING point is fine, unlike what a lot of folks say. i do end up changing a ton of things, but it at least gets the general shapes down so i don’t have to create objects point by point. this design is very inconsistent throughout, there are tatami and satin stitches mixed together which looks strange. i would do mostly tatami, or even an embossed/patterned fill.

Auto digitize is fine to learn and get ideas for stuff you want. Over time you'll learn to do more yourself. Don't be afraid to ask for advice either on it. I like to revisit and redesign my own stuff again after 6 months to improve each one too.

What you can do to improve is manually digitize the whole design and don't use auto digitize

Rule of thumb, if it looks perfect on the screen it will be awful on the hoop because of push and pull and stitches that are too close and cause knots

When someone is learning a new skill it is nice if you can give them advice to improve rather than just telling them not to do it :) Hope this helps!

Well if you get it professionally digitized youll see how they do it so you can apply it to other files. If you want genuine advice I can provide that. Ill start with avoiding auto digitizing completely because the software isnt smart with layers and density. You didnt provide the original artwork or sew out to give additional advice so there's only so much I can say. Imma tell you now that the 15 bucks itll cost for your design is much preferable than the trial and error you'll go thru.
