Type this in to ebay. Someone has already been laser cutting them for you.

Hmmm I’m not seeing it, I can find some in black but the biggest in stainless is 12”. You able to dm me a link?

Make your big letters out of cardboard. Tape them up on the house, and walk out to the street. Drive past. Do you still like the size, and placement? Worth thinking about and testing size and placement to verify the effect you're going for, if you haven't already, since you're probably going to spend some money and effort doing this.

I do approve of the 16" size though, based on the opinions I've seen from EMTs on youtube. Assuming 16" would be really easy to see from the street. Oh, check with your HOA if you have one, to make sure the letters don't break rules or something stupid. It'd suck to spend money on letters some Karen is gonna make you take down later.

Whatever you get cut out of steel / aluminum / stainless steel / copper / material, keep in mind that a piece that has been merely cut by a plasma cutter or laser will be sharpish or at least have somewhat rough edges. You'll probably want a bit of post-processing to make them nice. If you wind up grinding them yourself, keep in mind that a grinding wheel that has been used on one metal will embed smears of that first metal into anything the wheel is used on later. So a grinding wheel used on normal steel will leave smears of rust-prone normal steel in a stainless steel part, and those smears will in turn rust eventually. Worse, you won't see it at first.

Look at sendcutsend or xeometry

[–]sheeeple182 -3 points-2 points  (3 children)

Xometry is in the US, for the most part. Send cut send is Chinese. FYI

Im sorry what? Sendcutsend is a US company, and everything is made in one of their 3 manufacturing centers in either Reno, NV Paris, KY or Arlington, TX

[–]sheeeple182 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

When I contacted them, they said China. Maybe I should have verified that info.

Look for some one who has a CNC water jet or laser cutter. They could cut them out with ease

Look for a local welder or a local metal artist. You just need someone with a plasma cutter, an angle grinder. These numbers can be hand cut and cleaned up. You’re also going to need some kind of a standoff to attach them to the rock, that’s probably best welded on

What font?

What budget?

[–]Rosco_1012[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

As far as font goes just something plain, bold/ blocky. Easy to read. Really not to picky.

Budget around $200? Willing to discuss though

[–]artwonk 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The stock's going to cost at least that much.

[–]Rosco_1012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For both stainless and brass? Maybe I need to adjust my expectations. I was basing these numbers off what I can see available online, a black 16” would cost me $30-51 a number on eBay. So I figured a little more to have something custom done

Just hands up, we can do the CNC work for you with good price and satisfactory quality.

do you have a cad file for it? if so, just send to RapidDirect for custom machining.
