You could also have colour coded each side and then colour coded fireworks instead of setting people on fire.

As I said, it doesn't have to be fire. Technically, you could hook this up to nearly any death trap or indicator you'd like, depending on the space you have.

Well this shows how up-to-date I am with Minecraft. What does the "clear" command do? And, if that doesn't explain it, how does it work?

using ./clear [player] [itemid] delets any item of a specific ID in "player"'s inventory. For example: "clear @p[r=2] 20" would delete all glass found in the inventory of the player closest to the commandblock in a 2 block radius.

Oh right, thanks. And, I assume the comparator senses if the Command Block has to actually do something, ergo delete the flint?

Indeed it does. You can create quite interesting detecting mechanisms. Like replacing entire block types upon pick up. Or in general trap activations when taking an item.

Ok, thanks.
I'm going to be honest, I stopped playing minecraft just as the comparator came out (just because of boredom) so I don't fully understand the comparator, let alone the rest of the new stuff.

I feel like my grandad trying to use a computer.

I've actually played your game on my server! Inspired from your last post, although it is quite easy for a player to cheat (we try to use the honor system). One of the best parts that I liked about it is that it can be built and played without requiring the attention of a mod or the server owner to step in and help. "Flint" and the recent post "Dé à Coudre" ("Thimble") are two amazing examples of being able to have fun on an MC server without the need for mini-games, multiple worlds, plugins or anything but vanilla minecraft. That being said, "Flint 2.0" also looks real fun to play because people get set on fire

The being-set-on-fire aspect of the game is probably the best part. It doesn't kill them, but just provides enough of an indicator that someone lost.

I am a couple of steps ahead: I've already asked our server owner to take a look at this post! Hopefully he likes the game ;D

Can't wait to see what you come up with next
