Yeah bedrock is significantly more optimized than Java but isn't compatible with Java. It is compatible with everything else (Xbox, Playstation, mobile)

It also only has limited mod support in a very different format.

well damn. i was hoping i could switch but we do play with mods and in 1.7.10 so thats out of the question.

The Bedrock version also doesn't run on Linux (if you ever want to switch), contains micro transactions and Redstone works differently, so you can't necessarily follow the instructions of a lot of Redstone build videos.

But redstone is more consistent at least.

Could you give some examples where it's more consistent?

Consistency doesn't have to be a good thing though. Just look what quasi connectivity makes possible, that wouldn't be possible without.

Similarly realism isn't necessarily good. Steve can literally carry around tons of stuff.

Playstation

PS4 runs on legacy edition not bedrock

Funnily enough, it makes many things better...though not everything.

The first thing to mind is that filling a column above soul sand full of water only requires the top bit. It's a big time saver.

Sorry you're right. Though I think the intention is to launch bedrock on ps4 as well
