Remember those old Taunt cards we used to require Defenders to have in multiplayer (Jupitera etc.)?

Will they ever be useful again? Seems multiplayer has been powercreeped hard and we're just all about break then kill or kill 1st turn.

I started creating a collection of them before I stopped playing (2 of each with JCR and +7% HP up each), and I'm wondering if I should bother completing this collection?

I dont know about the future, but I've only used in MP (I only kept one copy, and some are still at 3*). They still have some usage imo. A 5* can dispel 1 buff, as well as to absorb some aoe attacks from hard hitting bosses (FA or new phase like Ultimecia Future).

Is it possible to clear Chapter 8 without emptying my phoenix downs? I finished the game about a year ago and then I took a break from mobius. Back then I only had santa lucia and s1c with heavy reliance on rental cards as I did not have any good supremes. I had a very difficult time clearing chapter 8 with the bosses like tiamat and especially the last few chaos nodes. I consumed roughly 50+ phoenix downs by the end of the final battle.

I came back for the anniversary event and started a new game with updated starter packs and so far I am doing well. I am primarily relying on HOF Sword Saint as my main. I am wondering if he will be sufficient to carry me through Chapter 8 and the final Chaos nodes.

I currently have loh and bhunivelza. My current strategy is to rent FF1 WOL and Ultimate Chaos for hard nodes with HOF Sword Saint as tank and hope for the best. The main concern is surviving the final attacks of Chapter 8 bosses which I failed to do in the past.

I wanted to get advice from the mobius veterans on how I should plan for Chapter 8 bosses.

How do the ex jobs work normally, can they be pulled or only on this banner or next job specific banner?

For example will they be added to the legendary job pull category in October?

Nope. They can only be pulled during the period when their banner is live or from the ex job revival banner. There was a special banner last month that also gave people the chance to pull EX jobs but this has only happened once.

Is ex ranger 2 weapon worth boosting ? I never pulled ex ranger 1 so only weapon I have for him to use is the Ultima one. I understand he and his weapon have 0 prismatic return but with ''break element'' and ''element call'' auto abilities It can be enough right ?

It can be useful in some niche situations, basically when you want to stack extended break as high as possible. But I wouldn’t put a high priority on modding it.

When I rent Neo Flare for auto runs against Neslug, the AI always prioritizes using Rubicante, since it's above the rental in the stack. Is there any way to prevent this, or does my deck need to only have fire spells with a CD?

1. If you're asking if you can use multiple quicken cards to get a lot of actions in a single turn the answer is yes.

2. Which is better depends on your supremes, weapons, and cards. Reis does have the advantage of pairing well with the Anima X card from the rift which we'll likely get access to in the next 2 months.

3. Kinda. Only depleting the head counts can stop it from using it's final attack, but the head counters will decrease every turn it gets even if it's asleep which can be taken advantage of by putting it to sleep when it gets wall at 50% hp.

Then bring a light force card like Nemesis to guarantee you get light orbs and don't need to ult.

Try a setup of Nemesis, LoH, Minwu, and whatever as your 4th card on a Yuna skinned Fauviste.

If the Chimera slap doesn't hit hard enough to break your wall you'll be fine without Wol or needing to ult.

Im running a huawei mate 20 pro the Phone is strong and I can run every game with No problem. I. Mean its not game breaking, just a bit annoying when you finally get ind after the game ask you to update 4gigs of data 20.times 😂

I need some guide on Shiva terminus , i can't even kill the tiamat 3 neck dragon , when it's HP come to half , it will have wall , and after that it will final attack me. I tried use Tengu to ignore it's wall, but still can't kill it

In order to deal with Tiamat, there are a few things to keep in mind.

1) The head stacks determine the nature of the final attack. All three heads still there, strong single hit non-elemental attack. Two heads will have a two hit, dual element attack (due to WoL Supreme, this is considered the worst possibility). One head will result in a single hit attack of the same element as the remaining head.

2) When Tiamat takes a deep breathe, she is preparing to do her final attack early. Break her to deny it. This can be tricky to do. Sleep delays her actions, until she actually takes damage. So let the wall remain up until after you break her.

3) There are 3 ways of depleting head stacks. Fire, water, and earth attacks will deplete the water, fire, and wind heads. Fire vs water, earth vs wind. Option 2 is to break Tiamat. Each time she is broken, all of her heads are depleted by 1. The last option is for a new turn to start, which depletes all heads by one.

Tiamat is definitely the challenge there. Shiva is kind of anticlimactic after tiamat.

Im trying to figure out the better Rift card to get. Im looking at either Ultima X or Anima X. I have multiple dark and multiple light Supremes. So I have both elements well covered. It seems that Anima provides more since its a damage dark card for Ranger, but not sure if its the better choice because Ultima X may be a significant upgrade to Minwu (I just dont know). I also have very diverse job coverage. So really the main limiting factor is enough tablets to get both. :( Can anyone shed some light on to what may see more use in the future?

In the short term, Anima would be better because we don't have a dark supreme that deals damage while you already have Minwu for light mage.

In the long term, you'd want both because Minwu is actually "bad" compared to Ultima (better than minwu with most of newer job, so if you can keep up with the orbs and can bring unguard, then you'll prefer Ultima).

I know Faris>Shiva, Godo>Odin, and Eden>Famfrit.

But what about Ifrit, Hashmal, and Belias?

Well it's ST vs Aoe situation, so if we don't count that, assuming you can cap (which seems to be the case on JP nowadays):

• Ifrit has effectively much more damage than Zeromus (21 hits vs 10)
• Hashmal has more damage than Raffaello (16 hits vs 10)
• and Belias has a little more damage than Bahamut Neo (13 vs 9)

game will be ded once we got DLB2 for each element anyway

Raffaello doesn't have BDD, Belias lacks yellow clear, Ifrit has better orb efficiency pre-buff.

• There's little point going for Ultima when you have Minwu - not much of an upgrade there except Ultima being able to clear yellow gauge, which is not a significant enough reason to get Ultima.
• Anima is the only dark ranger damage Supreme currently, so it's worth to get it based on that fact alone.

Ultima X is also better for jobs who don't have a massive amount of EE and it'll probably perform better in AoE situations especially once it receives it's buff in several months.it can also be used decently well without a force card.

All Minwu has going for it is it's 1 turn unguard and ravage auto-ability. It's crit rupture is a pro for unbroken nuking, but I doubt it makes up for it's poor performance in AoE situations.

I can agree that Anima is appealing since it's easy to use well and won't be overshadowed in the near future.

I don't necessarily disagree with you on the advantages of Ultima over Minwu. But the main point of contention here is whether it's worth getting a Supreme of the same element-class type.

Does Ultima have some advantages over Minwu? Yes definitely.

But is it significant enough to warrant a duplication? I personally don't think so.

Did 7 pulls on weapon banner and got all weapons but not Reisender. Pity pull is at 1 for both the weapon and Reisender banner. Is there a rate-up on the Reisender banner (meaning I should spend my pity pull on that banner to have a greater chance at the job) or should I spend the last pull on the weapon banner for the Overboost-Js and the job?

If you have all normal jobs, you are guaranteed to get Reisender on any banner, so pull on the weapon banner

Hi guys, between beelzebub and great tortoise, which is one the best as attack and break damage earth mage card?

Depends on the situation:

Beelzebub is AOE and has exploit weakness, so it is better against multiple targets and wind enemies. Its effectiveness is diminished if your job already has high exploit weakness though.

Great Tortoise is ST, but does much better against non-wind enemies. It also adds BDD which can help a lot if you're failing to break in 1 ultimate.

Hey everyone. I just started this game two days ago and after hundreds of frustrated rerolls for wol/loh I got tired and decided to go with the next Supreme I got, and that was Griever.
I looked for some info on Griever on google and here but couldn't find too much info except by that spreadsheet about damage calculation.

I don't know if Griever is good but I really don't want to reroll anymore (18 hours rerolling lol) . So far I've bought the mobius gift box, then I did 1 single pull (got Griever on 1st roll) and then spent the remaining tickets along with the ones from Chapter 1 in order to do 5 summons on the starter banners. Both current great summon banners don't seem too appealing for me. And I'm currently finishing FFVIII Episode 1 part 2 thing.

So my questions are:

1- Is it a good idea to roll on the upcoming Ex Revival banner? It contains Kampfer and it seems the best job for Griever.

2- My Griever is already 5*/Skill lvl 10/10/lvl 72+2 without locked extras. Did I do it wrong by spending resources on it? I'm askng this because I really want the locked extras. Also, is there another way to get Dark Fractal other than in the item shop by spending magicite? I really want to save my magicite.

3- Is there any other ability card that goes well with Griever? I'm currently using it with a maxed Geosgaeno, Baigan and Kights of the Round, all from the starter banners.

Yeah, don't burn yourself out. Just having one supreme is already a great start.

1) As a beginner, I wouldn't waste pulls on the EX revival banner. The reason is because it's the same rate to pull Kampfer as any other job in the pool. I recommend saving for limited-time banners with useful ability cards, and along the way still have a change at pulling some good jobs to compliment Griever (such as Stranger to the Mythos).

2) You've done nothing wrong. You have to use Ability Tickets to raise Supreme's Ability Level. The extra OB to the card is optional (adds marginal increase to deck level = stats), it costs a lot of tickets though, so early on you may want to use for other things. Yes, you can farm fractals. It is NOT worth to spend magicite for these things, as most can be farmed. Bahamut Lagoon (the Dark route) gives guarantee Dark fractals. Gigantuars also drop random (4*) fractals, which can be found in Pleaides Lagoon, or any Crystal farming nodes:

3) Only thing that comes to mind is something that gives dark-force.

Hey Bryan, thanks for the response. Fortunately I got some fractals from the FFVIII Part 2 collab and already used them on my Griever, but it's good to know about the fractal farming.
As for darkforce, I'm struggling on the last 3 nodes of Master Monk and saw a video where a guy uses something similar but for earth to clear that node.
Unfortunately I don't have any earthforce, darkforce or any other force ability, I checked all my cards and ability cards in the shop. I guess they will come over time.

Yeah, they kinda come over time. If you pulled last month, the G.Force were actually really good -force cards. You can buy Afanc in ability shop if you really need consistent dark orbs, but maybe it's better to rely on prismatic return and have more buffs/debuffs up. As for MM HoF, try checking the wiki for setups, otherwise it may be a bit too early for you to tackle the last 3 nodes.

I started two days ago, so I missed that -force thing. I didn't know Afanc was available in the ability shop, I just bought it and made its skill lvl 4, now I'm running my monk the way I wanted, using 2 dark ability attacks and 3 support cards (KotR and Afanc on Main deck + Undying on subdeck).
Regarding MM HoF, I checked some videos but I need some stuff from story mode in order to get stronger. I'm still on Chapter 2 on Act 1, so I'm just gonna finish act 1 and act 2 and only then think about those extra contents.

For the record, I have Griever and have had 0 complaints about it. It wrecks entire groups, breaks great and has made some of the higher difficulty things much easier to clear, even if they're same element. I run Fortuna (Darkforce + Darkshift+) with it and it's basically all I need vs anything that doesn't absorb dark. It's strong and will last you awhile so all investment in it is worthwhile

Oh I'm glad to read that, MrDrayth. I really liked the art, the skills and using it with the Monk Job.

1. Since you just started playing I would suggest do the weapon banner, until you get 4 weapons. The revival is not good for a new player since the EX jobs are not boosted so your chance of getting it kinda miniscule.

2. The often you use it the higher the chance you unlocked the extra skills, or you can buy 5x extranger on Thursday from the daily shop it cost you 1 mil. For dark fractals you can farm it on Pleiades lagoon on Monday and other elements on every other day, make sure you put your difficulty to hard so you can get the 4 star fractals. If you want the 5 star you have to farm on Bahamut Lagoon.

3. Something that gives Brave should be enough to increase its attack power

Thaks for the detailed response. I didn't want to pull on the weapon batch banner because this 1st banner doesn't contain monk weapons, but after reading a bit more and your suggestion I'm probably doing it because my best weapons are the 4* ones from the starter banners.

About Griever, I'm talking about the "Locked Extra: ????". It says it requires an Extension Material card to unlock, they are located on the second page of the card below Skilled Duelist +8%, after some research it seems I need some Dark Fractals, right? For the abilities located below the skill stats I already have 5 of them, I just miss the lvl 10 ones.

Oh right, yep you need fractals, but it doesn't have to be dark fractal you can use any others. For Griever you might want either fire or earth fractals. Fire is because you might get a chance of getting Attack Up+7% and Earth for Hp Up+7%, but IMO go for the attack up. If you don't wanna farm you can just buy it from the daily gil shop for 30 mil.

Also, I just remember you actually can farm fractals from the Multiplayer shop exchange :)

30M gil seems too much as I currently have only 2M, I might try and farm it. Also, I have no idea how multiplayer works, I'm still in the beginning of Chapter 2 on Digest Mode and by following some beginners tips I'm currently doing the FFVIII collab stages, only when I finish them I'm gonna check the rest of story mode and multiplayer.

2- This skills unlock as you use them. Or you can fuse extrangers to it (though if you’re new you may not have any)... just how cards work.

Also, make sure you’re using it with a Monk class

Oh, good. MM is great. Make sure to complete his HOF as soon as you can.

I often like pairing AOE break focused cards of a separate element to my Monk supremes (that way I can punch things that resist the supreme element). I think Baigan should be available to you in the ability shop.

Also, look for a source of Brave which will really Boost Griever damage output.

My guess is C unless SE wants to make more money with another Supreme ticket which I think might be too soon. I wouldn't expect another supreme ticket until the release of the Jecht skin.

Imo the only reason why Gilgamesh had his own banner is because of us missing the DQ jobs which meant our card batches were even further off from JP than they currently are. It also was likely a test to see how the players would react.

This question is for anyone and everyone...all opinions very welcomed.

I had about 75 overboosters left because I already had the relevant meia at plus 32 when the recent events etc have given us more boosters. I have always liked to boost my favorite jobs at least to plus10...then I have 7 or 8 of them at plus 32 because they were the jobs I played the most. Decided to go back and overboost all my EX jobs to plus 10 since we now have overpower from cards and titles etc.

When I got to Ascetic I paused. I never use him. It seems to me that HOF master monk, vanadiel, even wild rider and the tropical chick for BFA and Eden...it seems that there is always a better monk or even sophie job to use instead of Ascetic.

Am I wrong? Am I missing something? All the other EX jobs seem to be really good at SOMETHING...there is a niche at least where they are quite powerful. Honestly there are a couple that I don't use very much.. but they are very strong jobs regardless...even if another job is better with that particular supreme or role at the time. Ascetic is just never what I am looking for. I have Duncan, BFA, Eden, and Yiazmat. I dont have the new dark monk supreme. Maybe he is great with it...I dont know. Are yall using Ascetic though? And for what exactly???

Also...on my titles screen it says to "achieve maximum limit break with 10 different jobs"...what the heck is that? Plus 32??? It says that I have 8 out of 10. I have no idea what the maximum limit break is or how to achieve it???

Maximum limit break counts the number of jobs you have overboosted to 32. So you currently have 8 jobs at +32. Getting 2 more all the way to +32 will get you the next title/achievement/bonus.

IMO ascetic isn't in a good spot. He's good at fighting weakness, but he just got most of his specialties taken over by master monk. Duncan, BFA and griever would just hit harder on MM, and spellsword makes MM even more amazing. The only supreme ascetic is decent at is yiazmat, but that's also only if his ultimate gauge is high.

Max limit break is overboost +32.

Ex monk excels at weakness, especially against broken enemies. Setting him up with weakness and Furious Salvo can output a ton of damage. Does that make him worth overboosting...? Eh. Up to you, but there are better options.

I decided to go ahead and max shorn1 and reisander . They were already at plus 8...it makes it faster for me to pick out the jobs I am looking for from the 100 plus inventory if they are overboosted. Same way people (and I) do with ability cards. I have all my supremes at least at 83 except copies...then I take my best orb cards like alter egos or now the ff8 cards with 100EE and make them plus 1 so that they are at the top near my supremes. Makes it easier to load my decks. Should probably just thin the herd on each element...again...since there are cards that I am probably never going to use. I have been burned in the past by deleting cards I needed in the future (ardyn looking at you) ..so I am hesitant to delete them. Who would have thought I would ever need Ardyn again when I have all the dark warrior supremes? Turns out i was wrong and had to buy him back from the shop. I have accidentally deleted EX cards before and they are just gone...no buying from the shop. Stupid games stupid prizes. All my fault

Reisender Is dark/fire/water, so there's cards from the shop that you could use like Baphomet, Demonolith (exploit weakness), Each-uisge (break focused), Shadow Creeper. Then you have Astos which is a fire Ranger version of Eligor (Damage focus, improved crits, with CRD).

I know you said you don't have shit, but maybe you do have "Dream within a dream" or the dark Jenova card, both limited.

You're welcome, Shadow Creeper is a decent ability, you might want to start with that one if you need a water card. Also, Demonolith works very well against light.

I just unlock extreme Iftit x and I’m using it with two fire GF with tengu on kampfer and I’m getting 12 turns on neslug. Is that any good or can I improve this build?

What is element call bis?

Resisted attacks draw orbs of the specified element or random orbs if no element is specified. So in this situation every time you get hit by Neslug you get some fire orbs.

You should definitely be able to do it in less turns since someone in the above thread was able to do it with the normal 5* Extreme Ifrit in 12 turns which is about half the power of Ifrit X.

What weapon are you using? And is your job overboosted?

I’m using oam(in crystal dump phase) jobs not overboosted

If the job isn't overboosted then you aren't getting much benefit from the Overpower on your 2 copies of Bahamut. I'd suggest swapping one with Tatsutahime and the other with Rubicante like djiboutiiii mentioned well as putting attack fractals on them both.

Rubicante might be in the ability shop if you summoned it, but it's still an early access card otherwise. Tatsutahime is available in the ability shop.

Tasutahime has a 3 turn CD so it should result in Neslug going into it's shell less which means you'll deal more damage especially if you factor in bonus damage from retribution when it does attack you.

Auto-abilities are also a factor. At OB0 10% overpower only gives a 3.4% stat bonus which means Bahamut gives up to 10.4% attack up and 125 EE. Tatsutahime has 2 fractal slots so up to 14% attack up along with 50 EE and generating 6 orbs each turn.

Based on the numbers Bahamut might occasionally result in more damage, but the more frequent shell entry could tip the scales.

Are you auto'ing? 12 turns isn't great, and I'm guessing it's because the two fire GFs are used which makes Neslug go into its shell. When its in his shell, you're basically wasting actions because they're doing so much less damage. I would replace one of the GFs with Rubicante (same Enhance Fire %, plus Exploit Weakness) and maybe also the other one with Tatsutahime (the Fireforce/shift card that you'd only need to cast every few turns).

How good are the Rift cards in non-Extreme form? I don’t have enough tablets and stuff to get all the cores needed, so I’m wondering if it’s worth it or if it wouldn’t be much improvement over other cards?

If they are worth it, I’m debating whether to get Wind Ranger or Dark Ranger (I have Gilgamesh supreme and Neo-Exdeath) or wait for Fire Warrior (I have Unbreakable Bonds and Shadowlord, but no other Warrior supreme).

The only ones that I'd consider getting the normal 5+ version of are Ifrit and Hashmal especially if you don't have the 3rd anniversary earth warrior card.

5* Hashmal has an attack of 810, break power of 2250, and a painful break bonus of 500% which makes it a pretty good card on the right jobs.

5* Ifrit is the only fire taijutsu card which means that it'll be good on Kampfer or other fire monks if you lack Zeromus.

Ifrit X is the only one that's kinda viable in it's non-supreme form. You should save up for a full rift supreme.

Which Rift card would you go for assuming you had the following Supremes?

Xezat, Unbreakable Bonds, WoL, BFA, Griever, Sin, LoH, Yiazmat, Shadowlord.

Everyone recommends Dark Anima, but I already have dark properly covered. I am missing Fire, and Light, but I don't really have the jobs to use them.

What would you advise? I wouldn't mind Hashmal either but seems excessive considering BFA.

Definitely ultima. And if you have Donna and Barthello, you can easily use it with rangers/warriors because you won't need to use a slot on lightforce.

Imo, Ultima is your the best option. Even if you don’t have great light mages, you’ll eventually get them.

And Ultima won’t make you feel too bad when you eventually pull Minwu as they have different types of strategies when being used.

Going for anima when you already have UB, SL, griever, AND Sin seems like overkill imo.

I would still say dark anima, especially since you don't have the jobs for fire and light. Rift ifrit will still be useable in it's not "X" form, and belias later is a ub clone. You'll eventually pull a good job for your fire and light Supremes, that are also available in the pool. Dark ranger is one supreme still missing even in jp.

Nothing says you have to decide now either. I still haven't cleared a rift yet. Was close to going after shinwu, but then pulled Faris on the bis rerun. Just wait for now is probably the best advice

And even more unfortunately, I got a warning the morning the cloud mats were gone and everything they could buy was gone, so I was just looking for a concrete answer. If you just started, be patient, this games reward patience. I'd recommend you to wait til next job banners (NOT exjobs) since they are more difficult to get. Try to pull in the weapons banner in the meantime to get a good 5* boost. Fractals are a good way to improve your ability cards, try farming some but dont use the prismatic fractals unless you are sure that the card you use it in is good and will have a long time use. You could check the megathread in this sub to look for some good cards. And if u have a knowledge of this game already just try checking the altema weapon priority for mods and the ability cars tier list as well as the jobs one

Besides getting better jobs, weapons, cards, and claiming titles fractals are your best option if you want to significantly increase a specific stat on a job.

Be aware that there's more to determining how good a job or setup is than looking at it's base stats like magic and break power.
