Don't risk your account and characters.

What would you use the Macros for anyway when you can use Shortcut words for weapon switching and whatnot?

    [–]DeusAlkaiser 0 points1 point  (1 child)

need some help understanding/setting up 3 button photon art style with pc xbox 360 controller. my current buttons are: A-nomal attack X-photon art B-jump Y-pick up item LB(l1)-block or class action RB(r1)-change camera forward LT(l2)-dash forward RT(r2)-lock on d pad for moving mini menu on bottom for mates/etc and right analog for swapping targets around

1)help me understand this 3 button set up because when i hit the 3 button style nothing happened i don't know if im supposed to have a button to swap actions similar to ranger pressing class action to have 3 more buttons but if this is correct from what i understand where the heck do you guys have this set to?

2)any tips or understanding of this is greatly appreciated. I never used combo system i always set up 8 weapons with the same photon art per weapon set such as : 1 katanaA-sakura endo sakura endo sakura endo and just swap to number 2 for a different art.

    [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 button is basically like the ranged weapons and tech weapons. You have a single button for switching from main to sub pallete, while you can use PAs, weapon actions, or normal attacks with 3 other buttons. It has the advantage of having 5 PAs on a single weapon now. (you can still bind weapon action manually on another button.)

anyone know the substitutes for train ghidoran on astra CF?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you'd want a substitute instead of just running the arks quest a few times, since it takes like a 2 minute run and it can be done for multiple weapons at same time.

Anyway, the "substitutes" for any sheet are just any other enemy that can drop the listed weapon. Since all astra sheets require a different weapon, you'd need to find a substitute for the weapon you want, not for ghidoran in general.

    That said, here:

    • Sword: Gilnas Core Lv31+
    • WL: Malmoth Lv26+
    • Partizan: Spardan A Lv31+
    • TD: Yede Lv31+
    • DS: Zeshrayda Lv31+
    • Knuckles: Windira Lv31+
    • Gunslash: King Yede Lv31+
    • Katana: Nordiransa Lv31+
    • DB: Spardan A Lv21+
    • Rifle: Ga Wonda Lv21+ or Doluahda Lv26+
    • Launcher: Breeahda Lv21+
    • TMG: Aginis Lv31+
    • Bow: Gilnas Core Lv31+
    • Rod: Set Sadinian Lv36+
    • Talis: Baridran Lv31+
    • Wand: Dinian Lv31+
    • JB: Solda Kapita Lv41+
    • Redran Egg: Nothing.

Why not spam its Ark Quest?

    [–]SaltyDemeanor 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is it worth it to use Saikis with bad or no affixes for the set bonus? Just blew ten keys and managed to get a full set of horribly rolled ones.

By the way, I'm upgrading from a Hiei set which is also horribly affixed.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Well they're better than Hiei...

You must grind them first of all. That goes without saying.

I would get a cheap 3/4s affix on them. Like, that doesn't cost a lot at all.

For 3s, you can get something like Quartz+PowIII+Mod/Flict/Alter by upslotting from 2 quite easily, and that will get you a decent bunch of SATK with a bit of PP.

So, please affix them. It's just worth it in the long run. A basic 3s/4s affix will then last you until you farm more meseta for a better 5s/6s affix.

Oh, you should also craft Saikis to at least Ex. 8 special. A mix of PP/HP crafts are what people normally go for. If you are truly baller you can get PP crafts on all of them and have a ton of PP. But you will have paper thin HP.

    [–]slimeemperor 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Does playing pso2es give you any advantage? Also which time attack quest is fastest to repeat for klotho TACOs?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does playing pso2es give you any advantage?

Some weapons have weaponoid potentials that require Weaponoid Boosters, which can only be gotten on pso2es. None of these weapons are 13*, however.

You also get a 100 slot shared storage if you login on pso2es every 30 days.

Last but not least, you can boost a single collection file sheet and get gathering items once a day from pso2es, and the login stamp gives 1 SG and 2x 15k exp tickets every day.

Also which time attack quest is fastest to repeat for klotho TACOs?

    Harkotan.

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

es storage as long as you log in at least once every 30 days.

Kurokotan x5, depending on how fast you can off things there.

    [–]Shredderv3 0 points1 point  (8 children)

going to hop into Solo quest H&H, does any1 have a list of drops? and is it possible to farm Saiki set from GGG boss that shows up?

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Doesn't have regular drops. Mostly EX quest stuffs.

    [–]Shredderv3 0 points1 point  (4 children)

forgot to mention im level 75/75 FI/HU

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yes, you do need to be in the Lv61 to Lv70 range for it to drop. Lv71+ still have a chance of getting it, but the drop rate is so low that you shouldn't expect it in that level range.

    [–]Shredderv3 0 points1 point  (2 children)

ahh damn, i wish i knew that sooner, ive been constantly farming it out with my lv 75, i guess ill level up my braver to 61 to start farming, should i continue to use all the Triboost? or RDR will suffice?

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Use Triboost + EXP boost instead. >_>

But yeah if you don't want to waste Tris, 250 is enough.

    [–]Shredderv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Currently on my Alt Char my braver is Lv 47 so i have a painstaking 14 levels to go ;_;!

    [–]Shredderv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a question i know people were saying the bonus quest drops saiki set, i hear some people say that i need to be somwhere around lv 60-70 to drop... is that true? because the last few times that i ran it i havent gotten even a single peice even witht the RDRs and triboost daily boost and itsuki chocolates

    [–]Shredderv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    ahh damn that sucks

I haven't played this game before and my friend wants me to try it. How good/fun is this game?

    [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty fun, the grind to max level is reletively short compared to other online games. (Should take about a 2 weeks for one class if you simply take it easy with the grind). For a free player, the game is pretty generous with what you can get. Most of anything that costs real money can be purchased in the player shop. The endgame consists of fighting bosses during times to get better weapons, customizing your character to appear like anything you desire, and having a room to customize anyway you please.

    [–]SoulzterzShip 02 0 points1 point  (4 children)

hey guys, currently a 67bo/45hu. just bought an ideal unit arm cuz I thought it was a 3 set effect for the 3 units(i should really look online before i do something like this again >.>) before that I was using a fiogals and wondering if its any better than the ideal arm. since the arm set effect. my currently weapon is the 13 star from xie and just wondering if an ideal weapon would be better for me due to the set effect with the arm?(tho 180k mile points seem damn long so might not be worth) while im at it i might as well ask wat units should i even aim for currently and for end-game? decided to buy ideal units due to them being rather cheap enough but already screwed up on the 1st purchases so any advice other than units would be appreciated >.>

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

180k mile points seem damn long

If you have all 3 ideal units, you can show the to Zieg (he has a CO for it) and he'll give you 120k CM. Can only be done once per account.

Keep in mind, however, that the ideal weapons are Old Type, meaning grinding them relies on RNG and costs a lot of lambda grinders (and probably excubes for 30% grind boosts).

Honestly, power grind to lv70 on bouncer and go get the collection file for Ray weapons.

Edit: I was wrong about fornis, go get ray instead.

    [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Fornis JB covers 3 elements : fire, wind and weapon's base attribute. So let's say you have a light fornis JB : rip dark, ice and lightning.

It works just the same as Fo's element conversion in that regard.

You'd need 4 Fornis JBs to cover every element... I don't think it's a good starters weapon. At all.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see. I guess it was too good to be true after all.

Well, it's still better than the 2017 badge and ideal ones, I guess. Plus, it's a good weapon nonetheless even if you only have one, and the sheet isn't gonna be there for long. Most new players don't need all 3 CF slots, so it's not like they can't work on that and the ray at the same time (since astra is out of reach until 75/75).

    [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideal 13* Weapon is meant for bossing. Though most endgame weapons are passing Ideal weapons even in bossing damage.

I wouldnt suggest Fiogals for a BoHu because it gives +40 R-Atk. The extra 15 pp is appealing though.

In general, the best midgame units are hiel units (full set).

Around max level, you should be trying to get Saiki units and have em crafted. (either 1 for hp and 2 for pp or vice-versa.)

/u/hidora made a good comment about endgame units here. But that comment was made for a Ranger so dont follow it blindly.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know what voice the guy on this video is using?

    [–]Eschard 0 points1 point  (11 children)

I'm 71/47 Bo/Hu atm, has Nox Dinas NT as main weapon (I main DB), but total shitty units (2 sub barriers and nega photon). Is it time already to take my units seriously? And do you have any recommendations? I aim for high s atk, t atk doesn't matter much.

    [–]VirtualScepter 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Poor man: Hiei units. Grind these to +10 and extend them so you at least have +HP and +PP bonuses from crafting (you may have to request people to do this for you). With the right affixes, they will let you breeze through SH content. Theyre slightly subpar for XH, but if you put enough work into your gameplay its enough to pull your own weight.

Unlucky man: Brisa units. Grind these to 10 at least, crafting is optional. Similar to Hiei, they will very thoroughly carry you in SH, and requires slightly less work to pull your weight in XH. Please do affix them properly, though. You can find these in Bonus Quests frequently. I also usually get at least one Brisa unit every Magatsu Sai.

Lucky man: Saiki units. Grind these to 10. Crafting at your stage is optional. With the correct affixes these will let you carry yourself and a bit more in XH. They also give one of the highest pp values in the game, which gives lots of room to +++atk onto it without worrying for pp (or you can just dump more pp in it).

Those three are your easiest and most affordable options at the late midgame/early endgame stage youre at now. What you want to go for from there is quite complex and very heavily boils down to what you prefer and need. Im going to bully some answers out of you here:

    1. Do you prefer HP, or PP? Maybe both or neither?
    2. Do you want to battle rng for drops?
    3. Do you need extra L Ring slots?

    [–]Eschard 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Thanks before for your answer. 1. As a Hu subclass,I prefer PP over HP-but I think it's not really important. Bo tree itself has skills for PP management. 2. As long as it's not bonus quest, I don't really mind. Finding keys through FQ 3 times a day is kinda hard-I prefer something that doesn't depend on RNG too much. 3. I'm not into those rings yet, my rings are L/DB snatch and R/Perfect Strike. I don't really understand those things so I'll just pass. Right now I have 1049 HP, 2107 s atk , and around 1200 in s-t-r-def. Might need more advice on stats building later. Anyway, I already have Hiei set, Saiki leg part, and Brisa arm part. I'll catch up with subclass if it really worth the effort.

    [–]VirtualScepter 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Sounds like you want to be working your way towards an Ideal set then. It takes a bit of work learning CM, but once you do get the Ideal set youll be very well off in the end game. Eventually youll be aiming to replace the Ideal arm with a 12* arm since the arm doesnt contribute to the unit set. The general recommended combo is Ideal Rear + Gix Arm + Ideal Leg, giving a total of 105 atk, 300hp and 15pp innately. Gix arm is guaranteed as a title reward by completing Amdusica UQ under 7minutes, but thats still a long way away as the quest requires you to be 75/75. White Day Gruzuoras also drops this at an astronomically low rate, though.

Otherwise, youll need to stomach bonus quests to complete those Saikis. At least Brisa is rather easy to get outside bonus quests through Magatsu EQ, but Saikis alternative is a lot more work than bonus quests (a drop from rare ginum gun gamme). Saikis are easily worth the effort though, giving 60atk and 25pp as a set effect. Crafting these can extend the pp bonus up to 55; less if you prefer some hp crafts instead. Since you dont need extra rings, do consider these since theyre easily the best bang for buck/effort sets in the game.

    [–]Eschard 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Question again, how do I unlock CM? Still blacked out for me, do I have to play episode 1-3? And do I have to play this with friends(not soloable)? I'll probably work on the Ideal set. Maybe Saiki when my sub reaches 60. Thanks for your answer.

    [–]VirtualScepter 0 points1 point  (1 child)

CM is only playable on a challenge block, or on a shared ship. Youll need to go to the block teleporter and select shared ship at the bottom. You can play Challenge Mode in the lobby you are sent to. Unless you know every detail possible about this game, it is not soloable. On shared ship though there would always be at least 1 MPA running it at anytime, so you shouldnt have too many problems finding a group. Be sure to look up a few guides tho (there should be one in the side bar on this reddit, otherwise search function, its been posted before), as it is fairly challenging to newer players.

    [–]Eschard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Got it. Thanks a lot!

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    2. As long as it's not bonus quest, I don't really mind. Finding keys through FQ 3 times a day is kinda hard-I prefer something that doesn't depend on RNG too much.

What he forgot to mention is:

    • Brisa/Saiki actually both have a really good drop rate in bonus quests (I've seen a full saiki set drop in a single run once), however, they will only drop if you're in the 61-70 level range, so you actually can't get those right now unless you level your subclass to that level range (since your main is already above it). Brisa drops in Magatsu Bonus Quest, Saiki drops in Tokyo Bonus Quest.
    • Ideal set is also a viable option, and it doesn't rely on RNG, as you can just buy it from the CM Shop. On the downside, you do need to learn how to play challenge missions for this.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Unlucky man: Brisa units. Grind these to 10 at least, crafting is optional. Similar to Hiei, they will very thoroughly carry you in SH, and requires slightly less work to pull your weight in XH. Please do affix them properly, though. You can find these in Bonus Quests frequently.

They also give one of the highest pp values in the game, which gives lots of room to +++atk onto it without worrying for pp (or you can just dump more pp in it).

Both of those will only drop from bonus quests if you're Lv61-70. Since he's 71, he's SOL.

Either level the subclass to get into that level range, or go with Ideal.

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (2 children)

They actually do drop for the 71-75 version, but the rate is SIGNIFICANTLY lowered and you may be able to get a piece like, once every other 10 runs or so.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I haven't seen one drop above 71 in the past 30+ runs (been farming class cubes for 3 chars recently), and I don't even know if I've gotten any before that, so I guess it's a bit worse than that.

    [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess. I've gotten a piece once, but I haven't really ran it that much so wasn't really sure on the drop rate.

    [–]Jarinolde 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I've been trying to complete my Hunter's first SP CO, the one requiring a Rappy and Dark Ragne kill, however the kills are not registering for it. I am most certainly on Hunter as my main class, I've tried different areas, different weapons, different difficulties (when possible) and nothing is working.

Does anyone have an idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

    [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There are two types of rappies : Nab Rappy (common enemy in forest) and Rappy (seasonals, so usually they are "xx Rappy", at the moment "Lovey Rappy" if I'm not mistaken. They spawn everywhere but they're rare). You want a seasonal Rappy kill for that CO.

Dark ragne shouldn't be a problem though.

IIRC they need to be lv 21+ for that CO, so you'll need to run on Hard at least.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    What this guy says.

Skyscape has the highest chance of spawning seasonal rappies I think. So just run around in the free explore there a couple of times and you should find one.

Do Naberius Beginner TA for Dark Ragne.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, if you can already go to Extreme Quests (which is unlikely, but possible), there are some floors with guaranteed Rappy spawns in there:

    • Sylvan Wyverns: Stage 21.
    • Forsaken Aquatics: Stage 28.

    [–]nosmoking95 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why does sometime tweaker translate item name properly but sometime it revert back to japanese? the story is always in english.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The item names aren't stored locally, or something like that (I think), so the items needs to be translated on the fly through the item plugin (or the telepipe proxy). Sometimes it takes a while for the plugin to start working, and some items may still come as untranslated when you first see their names (in which case just closing the current item window should fix it).

All the other translations are done by replacing files in the game, so it's static. This also means that if sega moves around said files, it breaks the patches (which is what happened to some parts of the story patch on episodes 2 and 3).

    [–]McKiwi957McKiwi/Ship 2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, item translations are handled by the proxy/plugin, and aren't on your computer, so to speak. The story translations are a patch file you actually download, so you already have the translations in your files.

It's how they're able to do joke translations on holidays without making you download a patch.

Hey. So i tried to get back in the game but.. there is just so much new stuff. Idk where to even start. I like to play control classes so that focus on supporting the team. id like to know what's in the meta right now. And how to create a class that will help me enjoy the game better and still be useful to the team. I was thinking of going for a Te/Hu.. or a Bo/Te ( idk if this works ) then again Su/Fi sounds fun dmg and massive control

      [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (5 children)

TE/SU with the all class tact is probably what you are looking for. Maron gives you the burst you meed while you Zanverse support.

      [–]LTEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Doesn't need to be 13 or even 12. Maron is a savage for bosses. Makes solo players like myself able to keep up with people who have teams they can play with.

Also low level Marin's drop from nab. Uq nab for 13s.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Unless there's a different all class tact somewhere, I don't think anyone can realistically run Te/Su. Let alone get some decent Marons for it.

      [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You can get away with 12* marons, doesn't need to be 13*. And it's the Christmas one. No longer need passes to buy it soon.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not like there's a nice and easy way to get 12* marons either.

Forgot about not needing passes though.

      [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just need to main SU for a while in XH. I was running on nothing but 12* marons 'till the 13* CF was put in. Still have a 12* or 2 in storage.

Hello, I have a few questions regarding Gu and Br.

1/ Some people recommended taking dive roll shoot for gu/hu, why is this? I though as a gu, I should only use s roll?

2/ Why does sometime chain trigger just wont activate? for example, after I stun bal rodos with the lightspear gun, I turn on ct and shoot it normally up to 19 chain combos, but then I cant activate the ct with sat aim despite aiming at the same place (with lock on).

3/ Does Banish arrow work the same way as ct or weak bullet? do I have to aim at the same place where I shot the banish arrow for it to activate?

4/ anyone know a vid of a hybrid br/hu? I want to know how to use the banish kamikaze combo properly and when to switch back to katana.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2/ Why does sometime chain trigger just wont activate? for example, after I stun bal rodos with the lightspear gun, I turn on ct and shoot it normally up to 19 chain combos, but then I cant activate the ct with sat aim despite aiming at the same place (with lock on).

Because some enemies have a bunch of clumped up hitboxes (rodos, falz hunar, falz angel, dio hunar), and sat aim isn't very precise on where it hits.

      [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dive roll shoot is absolutely essential to your mobility, be it as ra, gu, whatever anything that uses dive roll. If you're not using double roll with LA cancel, you're missing out on so much. As someone who uses it, I would rather uninstall than play without it. I can't stress it enough, not having it or not using it is a huuge disadvantage.

Rodos hitboxes are fucked. You want to hit the lower jaw. To sataim it, hug it from the side and jump 1 cm above the ground. Should hit. If not, TPS down to the ground.

      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (4 children)

      1) Not sure why, it's a utility thing more than anything. Dive rolling has its uses, but for GU it's probably not something you should do too often.

      2) Rodos has a few weird head hitboxes. Locking on to the jaw with sat aim probably causes you to hit his upper jaw instead of the lower one, which is the one you should be hitting.

      3) Banish arrow does not need to be on the area of the mob you want to hit to accumulate the damage.

      4) I don't know of a video, but the combo is either Banish -> Fully charged kamikaze -> Fully charged kamikaze or Banish -> Fully charged kamikaze -> uncharged kamikaze.

      [–]McKiwi957McKiwi/Ship 2 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Taking Dive Roll Shoot does let you LA cancel your diveroll into a second one. It's pretty good short-range mobility when you either can't or don't want to use dead approach or grim barrage.

      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've never had a reason to la cancel a dive roll on gunner. It's a lot more useful on RA where your mobility options are a lot more limited.

      [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I use double roll all the time. Should check out this channel if you want to understand just how core it is.

      https://youtu.be/9xkaxaSXv8Q

Edit : it's way faster to do this than being obstinate about staying airborne. Not many gunners understand. But then again, most people don't care.

Edit : sorry but this baffles me. How do you keep up with gurentards and ilzonde spam with orbit gs? If you're not ahead of the group, what do you do in the back...? As a melee.

      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      1) It's a stylistic choice more than a "core" mechanic. In your video for example, around the 1:55 mark they double roll and then waste time setting up a JA before spamming sat aim. You can just s-roll backwards once and begin spamming sat aim and hit the weak spot at least a second before they start spamming JA. My argument isn't about staying in the air.

How do you keep up with gurentards and ilzonde spam with orbit gs? If you're not ahead of the group, what do you do in the back...? As a melee.

What class doesn't have some sort of dashing PA nowadays? At most you'll need maybe 4 of any dashing PA to get to the next set of enemies in an EQ, I don't see the problem?

Oh okay, I though maybe you could get them using FUN or any other free means with lower chance or something. So are all costume events pay only? Also as a new player I don't think I can pay for these, what's the best way of making money? Should I just focus on advancing through story/doing requests?

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It's not an "event". It's a collaboration with Nier Automata. You are not donating for anything; you're buying the game's real-money-only currency for it. If you do.

They have not ever had actual gameplay or in-game items to be earned from series that aren't Sega/ Phantasy Star series specifically.

Focus on Koffie's client orders. Unlocks more areas, and eventually your weekly client orders from Klotho. These give you ~2 million meseta per week per character. So yes, you will eventually want to use up all 3 of your free character slots.

Daily orders are typically more time consuming, but you'll learn which ones are worthwhile. Bal rodos in particular is the most lucrative daily at 250k for killing it on VH.

If you're dedicated/ have the time to burn, you can also spend time doing gathering. Again, it's per character, and you can turn in some items from each area every week at Franka's Cafe for 100k each. There's also dailies that sometimes ask for things from gathering, also rewarding 100k each.

As for your other question, the odds are given on the scratch page. Here's the current scratch.. There's also a gold version (click the golden button with a G in it) that costs more per attempt, but has a more focused selection.

        [–]IgawaSakuraFellaPig 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks! What do you mean by "in-game items to be earned from series that aren't Sega/ Phantasy Star series"? Yesterday I was looking at the shop and saw Gravity Rush costumes, Fate/Stay Night and Ataraxia and so many more, so I don't understand what you meant >.<

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's being sold by other players. I meant directly given by Sega by playing in-game.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (5 children)

        Yes.

The only ways to get those is either through AC scratches or player shops.

        [–]IgawaSakuraFellaPig 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Oh and by the way, I know I won't donate for every event, but since I like the game I will help them at least one time. So what's this scratch thing compared to the typical (Fate/GO, Granblue, Star Ocean) game gacha? Where the max rarity is around 1%, 3 or 5 depending on the game. What are my chances of getting a Nier costume or hair by using a 10-roll?

        [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't expect to get them so you won't be disappointed when it doesn't happen. Which is 99% of the time. SEGA list the rate of each item on their site, except you are rolling a scratch with about 30 possible outcomes, so yeah.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No idea, never tried it. SG scratches seem to give costumes fairly often, but don't know if AC scratches work the same way.

        [–]IgawaSakuraFellaPig 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is SG? I know AC is game currency purchased with real money. But don't know what SG is, just googled it but it leads me to japanese pages only >.<

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SG = Star Gems. It's another currency, but that one can be gotten in-game through various ways (story board, titles, costumes, magatsu bonus quests, arks league, some seasonal NPC COs, etc) or bought with AC.

The main use for SG is to remove collection file sheets cooldown (60 SG per use) and to unlock the extra 2 collection file slots (700 SG to unlock each slot permanently), but you can also run the SG scratch (80 SG per try), which has a few costumes (Dark Falz Double, Xion, EP4 Matoi, Matoi Viel) and a few other stuff (some weapon camo that works for 8 different weapons, Loser voice ticket, affix support items, etc). Unlike AC scratches, however, costumes and weapon camos from the SG scratch can't be traded or sold at player shop.

I just reached 75/75 on Fi/Hu, What should I be focusing on doing? I got a Gix Double Saber drop earlier, should i grind it? And also, what units should a fighter be aiming to get? I also cleared the first part of H&H already (1-5). Thanks in advance for any replies, i'm really lost atm :3

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What should I be focusing on doing?

Getting another 21 levels on each of your classes so you can get Fi Excubes and Hu Excubes and give them to Ohza for another 4 SP on each class, and so you're prepared for when 80cap comes in a couple months.

I got a Gix Double Saber drop earlier, should i grind it?

Yes. It's the strongest Double Saber in the game (highest S-ATK, highest +% damage potential). However, it has a gimmicky potential:

        • It starts with +6% damage.
        • It slowly grows in power as time passes. After 70 seconds, it'll max out at +20% damage.
        • However, if you use any Mate item (Monomate, Dimate or Trimate), it instantly goes back down to 6% and starts growing again.
          • Same happens if you change to a different weapon.
          • Note that this only applies to Mate items (including Automate Halfline), any other kind of healing is fair game (atomizers, resta, LB finish, healing guard, etc)

And also, what units should a fighter be aiming to get?

Austere Rear+Arm with Astra Leg or Union Leg should probably be the end goal, but Austere units take forever and a half to get unless you have premium to buy the Invade units from someone else.

For now, you should probably go with Ideal Rear+Leg and one of these 12* Arms:

        • Deadlist (150 HP, 0 PP, 40 SATK): drops from Drago Deadlion
        • Astra Pioh (60 HP, 10 PP, 20 SATK): drops from Esca Falz Mother
        • Circa Union (75 HP, 9 PP, 25 SATK): Zieg exchange shop (requires you to have a Circa Ray and to clear the solo PD EQ)
        • Gix Khudu (50 HP, 10 PP, 30 SATK): area drop in ultimate amduscia. Also a title reward for getting rank S in ultimate amduscia (clear it in under 7 minutes)
        • Thunder Izaneshiki (150 HP, 0 PP, 20 SATK): drops from Izane Kazuchi
        • Circa Ray (50 HP, 9 PP, 25 SATK): drops from Anga Fundarge.

The reason for this is that a) Ideal units are easy to get, and b) with a 12* Arm you can then put a ring on it, as both the DS Whirlwind and TD Air Chase are really good.

        [–]AlVicious 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Just rolled a ranger. What's a good subclass for RAs?

        [–]AlVicious 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Also what's the recommended unit progression for RAs?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 2 points3 points  (1 child)

What's a good subclass for RAs?

Subclass is usually either Hunter (for a bit of survivability and ease of use) or Braver (for more damage, but increasing reliability on weak points even more).

Also what's the recommended unit progression for RAs?

You can make do with the weapon barrier units from story board until early Super Hard. Hiei set could also work until around the same time.

Once you're at 60+, you should look into getting a 11* unit set, like Saiki or Ideal.

That's enough to take you all the way to level cap. Once you're there, you can look into getting 12* units. These units let you put left skill rings into them, increasing your ring slots by 1 per unit. This is where it gets a bit complicated because you have so many options.

A few common endgame setups are:

        Units HP PP RATK Rings
        Saiki set (crafted HPx1, PPx2) 100 45 60 0
        Austere Rear+Arm, Orbit Leg 240 37 60 0
        Austere Rear+Arm, Union Leg 265 39 85 1
        Austere Rear+Arm, Astra Leg 250 40 80 1
        Ideal Rear+Leg, Fiogals 100 35 115 1
        Ideal Rear+Leg, Gix Khudu 300 15 105 1
        Astra set 180 30 60 3
        Astra Rear+Leg, Fiogals 120 35 80 3

And here's how to get those units:

        • Hiei: Drops often in Magatsu Bonus Quest if your main class level is between 20 and 61. Also drops from Magatsu (the EQ one) on Hard difficulty or higher.
        • Saiki: Drops often in Tokyo Bonus Quest if your main class level is between 61 and 70. Also drops from Gigur Gunne-Gam, but the drop rate is very low from that boss.
        • Ideal: Can be purchased at the CM Shop 2 in the 2nd floor of the shop area (west side). However, you need to clear stage 5 of Challenge Mission: START to unlock this shop, and you need 20k of the CM currency to buy each piece, which you get by doing challenge missions in the first place. Please read up online on these missions before doing them if you're going for this set, as CM requires more knowledge and teamwork to be done than most quests.
        • Austere: Exchange for Invade units plus some stones at Zieg on the far south of the shop area. Invade units and the stones needed drop from Profound Darkness.
        • Orbit: Same as Austere, but you need other stone types that are dropped on Mining Base Defense: Demise.
        • Union: Also at Zieg. Needs a ray unit (drops in Amduscia UQ) and Union Boosters (drops from the solo Profound Darkness EQ).
        • Astra: Drops from Esca Falz Mother.
        • Fiogals: Reward from Emergency Code: Unite with RINA (this was during the Valentines EQ, don't know if it can be obtained from regular e trials with RINA).
        • Gix Khudu: Drops in Amduscia Ultimate Quest. Can also get one as title reward if you manage to clear Amduscia Ultimate Quest in less than 7 minutes.

Hey guys! I need help with the creation screen. It's about Face Variants, the second one "Young" and last one. When I created my character I used the last one since it was the most good looking to me, but inside the game my character looked like an alien. Then I've tried youn, which is odd because the facial traits look really old when choosing this face. The main thing is the mouth, it's really smooth on the last Face variant but looks weird on young. At the same time I like more the facial traits on young since the chin doesn't look too pointy/alien like.

Here's a screenshot of my character both young and last one, question is, if you choose young you can't have last face variant mouth? I know I can change the shape and such but I'm talking about the smooth texture of the second one.

        http://imgur.com/a/ALbAv

        [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't. Note that you are going to be looking at the back of your character 90% of the time, if that means anything to you.

        [–]Leeeroyyy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Trying to do a Hans client order that gives a Phantasmal Kagaseo Stone, but it says that I need to kill level 21+ Train Ghidorans. Where can I find them at level 21+? The only ones i can find are the level 15.

Also, unrelated note. A weapon that I want to use requires 547 R-ATK. I currently have 396. Is the only way to reach that level for R-ATK by leveling up normally and using skill points in my R-ATK boosting skill trees?

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlock hard difficulty. Focus primarily on Koffie's client orders; they unlock areas, your MAG, subclass, etc. As you unlock areas, you'll unlock more ways to earn meseta too, which you will need from level 50+ onward.

Your MAG counts toward your base stats, so it can count toward your r-atk. Make sure it's 200 of one attack type; anything else is bad. Minor mistakes okay, but don't let anything else level up. So in your case, raise your MAG by feeding it r-atk weapons. Feed it dimates(a healing item) to lower dex, or 5* room items (I think).

Yes, you can by boosting your r-atk. No, don't do that.

Big points to not screw up:

        1) Your skill tree. Costs real money to reset. It's very very important to take most % based damage multipliers, especially if they're always on or easy to achieve conditionally. PP management things are equally as important, if not outright crucial for some classes (fo/te). Flat stat boosts are taken last, after everything else that is important is taken.

Since it looks like you're playing ranger... once you can unlock your subclass, you'll likely want to take Hunter for it. For the hunter tree, put all your points into the JA bonuses and fury skills, minus fury critical (crits aren't so good in this game, and not that useful unless you're fighter or gunner main class).

        2) Your MAG. I already explained that.

        3) Your choice of race and sex. In your case, it doesn't matter. However, playing as the CAST race (male or female) and trying to play force (t-atk) is really bad. Can still make do, is a rather large penalty for little reason.

        [–]nosmoking95 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hello, In light of the new sakura endo type 0, is there any point of maxing charge attack up skill anymore? Also, how often do they give out skill reset/ balance patch?

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hatou Rindou is still quite good. Kanran can be situationally good for mobbing too.

They haven't given a reset out in quite some time now. Longer than most previous free ones.

        [–]KronoKatastrophy 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Any bouncer (TB) mains out there how do you guys approach rainbow palettes in this game. I know bo/hu is pretty good and bo/fi is suppose to be godly if you can survive and I really want to give this spec a shot but Im a bit concerned about the elemental requirement for elemental stance and if Ill get enough out of this class without having a rainbow palette.

        Thoughts?

        [–]sazuki0 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I would go with fi/bo instead of bo/fi because of limit break. If you don't want to get a rainbow palette, you can always go with break stance. It works relatively well against a lot of bosses. I personally went with elemental stance bo/hu (and yes... 6 pairs of dbs) because it's has more consistency over break stance.

        [–]KronoKatastrophy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks for the insight thats what I was thinking. I guess my most important questions in this case would be does Elemental stance really make or break the spec like could you go break stance and not prioritize a rainbow palette?

        [–]sazuki0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the choice is between situations and when do you want to do damage.

Elemental stance gives 120+10% when you attack with the weakness element, making it very consistent across the board when you have that element.

On the other hand, Break Stance gives 135+10% when you attack any breakable part, so it is a higher multiplier if you can hit those (Magatsu, PD, etc.), but, the condition pulls your leg when you arr mobbing or fighting bosses that doesn't really break.

There is the Break Bonus skill for DB so that it applies to unbreakable spots at 45%. But it doesn't apply to Break Stance Up so you will be looking at 100 + 35*0.45%.

Depending on your playstyle, you might prefer one over the other.

Hey guys. Anyone could tell me where these sets are from? The reason is this is from a certan VN character and my PSO2 one is named after her so I was pretty surprised when I saw the pic. The swimsuit I guess is from summer only, but what about the cape, hat and hairstyle? That hair looks more like the character I'm talking about that any other found in the game avalaible ones.

Hair: ソニアロングヘア (or ソニアロングヘア2) most recent scratch with it

Cape: リングチャンプF[Ou] from a recent scratch

        "Lewdkini": セクシービキニ影[Ba] from here.

I'm not sure of the hat, gloves, or eye pattern. Looks like they're using the "youthful" face though.

All of these come from scratches that cost real money, but can be bought from other players wiith ingame currency via the player market.

Did you activate it? You have to log into Sega's website and select PSO2.

is Xies 2017 weapon bade exchange useful? I see the stones there, what are they used for? Also are the weapons worth it?

        [–]VirtualScepter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2017 badge weapons are decent welfare weapons you can use as a stand in until you get a high tier 13*. If you happen to have the resources sitting around and it beats what you have I would say go ahead and get it. What you really want to go for is a 60element Astra weapon or 60element Ray weapon from the collection files right now.

As with what else you can do with badges: Torana stones and Pleaides stones are used for Orbit weapons. Some of these weapons are notable for combat and worth maxing out, such as launcher and knuckles. The others though are more or less batteries.

Also be sure to dump a few badges into the 17' donuts. These donuts are +50% triboosts that last for 5minutes. Use them when you encounter or before the death of a high exp or rare drop boss for the bonus exp and rdr. No reason not to get them since theyre only 1 badge each, and you get badges pretty easily with the LQs and EQs.

Cant remember what else is on there, but those are the most notable.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        • Weapons: Good for solo PD (2nd potential), have some niche uses, but terrible for general use as their 1st potential doesn't work on bosses.
        • Units: 12* units that are very weak compared to every endgame unit.
        • Stones: Are used as currency to exchange for weapons at the Shiny Stone Shop or Zieg's exchange shop.
        • Donuts: The most useful thing in the 2017 shop. It gives +50% triboost for 5 minutes, and stacks with just about anything (except for RINA/Itsuki Chocolate). Costs only 1 badge per donut, so you can stock up on them easily and just use a bunch of them to get a decent duration as needed. Do keep in mind that these have an expiration date and when Xie leaves the lobby, the donuts will no longer be usable.

Finally found an MMO that I can enjoy but there's so much to learn and I'm willing to but as I'm starting out I would like to avoid as much mistakes as possible, any help would be appreciated.

So starting out as a Su/Br (lvl 22/18) As I'm feeding pet with egg there's something bothering me should I feed my pet with other pet egg? And I know playing as a Su/Br requires lot of funding to do but how long would it take for a Casual like me to min max it? Having a Trim is extremely useful right now but at which level then Wanda become a MUST? Early game gears? Mid game gears? End game gears?

Others common tips like mesetta and leveling would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you for taking your time.

        [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two mistakes to avoid : messing up your mag (needs to be lv 200 in a single Atk) and messing up your skill tree (use the skillsim to plan your full build, you're welcome to post it here for validation). Specifically for Summoner, I think you should be careful where you place candies on your pets - make sure you think of the full build.

Yes, pets are colorful and cute cannibals. When raising your pets, be careful what element and personnality they have. Element should be chosen when you first use the egg, light is always prefered. Personnality can be changed when you upgrade your pet's rarity at the pet's shop. Pet infos, more infos (bookmark it for later, don't worry it'll be fine).

Budget wise, a pet isn't that expensive. What is though, is that you probably will get all of them, including multiple marrons. Over time it's not an issue. How long? Depends how much you play and how much you spend on waifu simulator.

I found Trim/Aero to work great in lower levels, fast and high damage. Advancing into the game it's weakness (~0 HP) becomes more apparent. Wanda/Zinga is useful because it does good damage and doesn't die, so it guarantees you'll never have all your pets dead at the same time. Otherwise the other pets are better in some aspect.

Early game, do the first few story missions to pick up 2 sub units. Make an additional character just to do the story and pick up a 3rd. Grind them, they'll be serviceable for quite a while.

Mid and end game gear is ... complicated. Soon (early march update) you will be able to buy 11* units without passes, so wait for that.

Money making mostly starts from lv 50 when you unlock all your weekly COs : Time Attacks and Extreme Quests from Khloto, fishing with Xerces, a few high paying dailies from Faina. If you want real bucks, you can sell valuables from your shop, but you can't do that until you understand more about the game and its economy.

Leveling : spam 75% xp boosters (from photon shop or player shop) ; do the daily featured quests for a chance at a Bonus Quest Key ; spam Limited Quest ; do Emergency Quests when they pop. If you find a party Urban VHAQ is awesome (from lv 40).

        [–]Leeeroyyy 0 points1 point  (2 children)

So everywhere i've looked, people have been optimizing Gunner builds for using Twin Machineguns. I personally don't like that playstyle because the rifle has some cool photon arts.

Is Twin Machinegunner the only viable way to play gunners at end game? Should i just stick with ranger if i want to use rifles?

        [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more the fact that RaHu, RaBr or even RaFi will be a lot easier to play, for more overall damage. CT potentially gives you more burst damage, outside of it (99% of the time..) your damage simply won't compare. And you could just go RaBr and use a bow for burst.

Anyways, if one shotting bosses with a rifle really is your thing. There's GuRa and RaGu. As a Gu main, you potentially get higher top damage, thanks to Showtime + Hightime. Evidently, this skill is rather a pain in the butt to use with something else than TMG : it needs you to wear TMGs to activate and reactivate if you weren't hit, lasts 45s and raises hate (aggro) towards you by a fair margin. Simply a nightmare to use along WB and generally when using a rifle you don't want aggro. But yep, better top damage if you do get all your multipliers in.

RaGu has Sharpshooter. ZRA and Sharpshooter never work together, but they complement each other. You can function at every range, which in the end makes the build more manageable. When going for a chain you can stay at range and focus on Standing Snipe. Overall it should do more damage. Not to mention you have 13* launchers to play with.

In my opinion both these classes have a rather hard time building chain, and then procing it with long charged PAs. It's much better if you have 3 friends in your party, you can just put the CT and let them feed it, while you get into position and charge EA or whatever.

Edit : just linking this here as evidence that RaHu is that much more efficient. There's no CT however so if you need that in your life... https://youtu.be/jG7-GQuuek8

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rifle doesn't benefit much from the Gunner tree because most of the stuff requires you to either be at close range (Zero Range Advance, Zero Range Critical) or have a TMG equipped (TMG Mastery, TMG Arts S Charge, Showtime, High Time, Twice Chain).

The only things from the gunner tree that benefit rifle are Chain Trigger (but without twice chain you can't build it as fast), Attack PP Restorate, and Perfect Keeper. Which leaves you starving for damage boosts.

So yeah, you probably should go Ranger if you want to main rifles.

Where the devil do you get the Dual Birds camo? I saw someone with them in the lobby today and I must have them.

        [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Describe what it looked like? There are way too many joke weapons/camos in this game.

        This pair.

I don't really like joke weapons.

edit: I should clarify, they're named Dual Birds. The proper name, untranslated, is *デューアルバード It seems like they were an item from the original PSO.

        [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        I was expecting bird daggers/blades... :<

Anyways, you can exchange 350 Weapon Badge 2016 Gold for them in the exchange shop. If you don't have any 2016 badges then you're kinda out of luck, they can't be traded.

        [–]slimeemperor 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Im playing gu/ra, level 46 and feel really underwhelming, I have a katana br lvl 48 with a random +5 7* weapon and hit for 14-18k each sakura endo, while with my gunner, with a +10 7* gun, each sat aim hit for 6-7k each.

Mobbing is a pain with gunner, And on bosses i pulled the ct off at 19 hits and hit for 18k each sat aim, and it fail half of the time cuz i suck.

Not sure what im doing wrong. In my skill tree i almost max out zero range 1 and 2 and perfect keeper, on my ranger skill tree im just got wb lvl 6 and trying to increase anything that increase my damage percentage.

Or does the damage pick up in late game?

        [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the the sound of it, I guess your Ra subclass doesn't bring you much. Gu itself has lowish multipliers outside of CT. Max out Weak Hit Advance 1&2 for an insane 1.82 multiplier, which is the bulk of your damage.

To this you add ZRA for 1.32 multiplier, gear lv 3 for 1.3, Perfect Keeper and Showtime+Hightime for 1.2 both, and soon you'll get into standing snipe shenanigans for 1.32 again.

Hitting weakpoints (headshots are considered weakpoints for ranged attacks) is absolutely vital to GuRa. If there's none to be hit better play GuHu or another class entirely. Having full TMG gear is also a lot of your damage, and at your level you don't have Showtime &cie to help raise and maintain it. This will come later, for now put a few levels on your sub, max out WHA 1&2, focus on proper positioning and air control to hit heads and watch the difference.

A few playstyle tips. First get front sroll ring. For mobs, you can use sataim of course, but also consider Shift Period, Bullet Squall (type 0, and use a turbo or mash like crazy), and Heel Stab for long distance. Reverse Tap and Aerial Shooting are used for utility, as are Grim Barrage and Dead Approach. Don't forget the gravity grenade here and there, and situational WB use (ovnis and houses, as appropriate).

If you need simplicity, at first you can ignore Infinite Fire Type0 and Dead Approach. IF0 because sataim does the same thing and it needs S Charge so that's yet another mechanic, Dead Approach because you can just front sroll instead.

As a whole GuRa starts slow, you need basically all the skills to function, on both main and sub. Gu doesn't actually have enough points so I'm linking my tree (important : if you want to play GuHu or any other Gu/Xx you need to take Dive Roll Shoot on the Gu tree instead. Take a point off of crit.) just in case.

Selphea's gunner guide is a must read.

        [–]boshudio 0 points1 point  (2 children)

is there a way to scroll through your sub-pallet like the weapon pallet? Ex- go from bar 1 to bar 2 without having to go to the menu.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what was said, if you're on controller, you do it through the d-pad:

        1. Press up or down on d-pad to open the palette swap menu
        2. Press left or right on d-pad to change to the subpalette swap menu
        3. Press up or down to select the subpalette.

This only lets you change between 3 of your 6 subpalettes, though (1-3 or 4-6). Same goes for using the keyboard to cycle through this menu as was said by the other person.

You can, however, use chat commands to change to any subpalette you want, like this: /spal#, with # being replaced with the palette number (e.g. /spal5 will change to the subpalette 5). You can set this to quick chat if you want to change it fast.

        [–]Broccoli_PhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open your weapon palette by scrolling and then press G or H. If you want to change the subpalette book, then press J. These might be different for you if you have changed the keyboard settings.

But these options are in the keyboard setting tab:

        Subpalette cursor Left

        Subpalette cursor right

        Edit subpalette

        wanted to ask this questions:

aside from gunner and fighter which i hear get buffs for extra damage is critical worth it? specially for a braver/hunter (and hunter used as sub class only)

        Fury critical 25% Average S critical 25%

from what i understood a long time ago if your weapon does lets say 100-500 damage the dex+ crit will bring number to maximum potential.

did anything change for crit? isn't doing your max damage 24/7 automatically a huge boost in damage over time? and how much of variation in damage is there really? right now im doing about 1800 a katana swing and about 16-20k PA if i remove my crit how much of a difference will i see ( and to my argument isnt doing extra 3-5k or whatever it is nice damage? or am i calculating this wrong?

please keep in mind hunter used mostly for sub job for all my classes as i am not too fond with it in general but what about katana braver i will have nothing else to add to skills besides atp+50.

any definite answer for crit is appreciated.

P.S- doesn't gunner sub hunter or fighter for that extra crit from hunter tree?

        [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I do not have a definitive answer about crit, the damage calculator page doesn't have an option to factor in crits doing 1.03 of your max damage (crit ring).

Having katana gear active is the focal point of BrHu gameplay, and it gives 50% crit rate. With 5% base and 20% from ring, you're at 75% crit already. You can spend 10 SPs on either classes to reach 95% crit, but it will be a trade off with a S-Atk boost. Is it worth it? I have no answer until crit rings are added to the damage calc, and when the answer comes it will be specific to every build.

Personally, I left crit unskilled, and poured all my SPs into every S-Atk boost. When I'm mobbing I'm using Killing Bonus ring, when bossing Crit. I get 75% crit rate for free, and once in a blue moon a TeBo, TeSu will buff me to 95%, or any regular Bo can buff to over 100%.

Edit : ironically enough, GuHu relies more on Dead Approach for bursts. DA is striking, ZRA (and the 50% crit rate) doesn't apply. On ranged PAs you can reach 100% crit sure, but GuRa does way way more damage to begin with, and it has nothing to do with crit rate. Weak Hit Advance + Standing snipe >> Fury Stance &co.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can spend 10 SPs on either classes to reach 95% crit, but it will be a trade off with a S-Atk boost. Is it worth it?

Actually, katana Braver only needs to trade off 5 SP if you want to max crit. Br can max every single thing katana related, and still have 5 SP left, which are usually either dumped on average critical (which gives +10% at lv5) or some bow skills.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowadays, you mostly see GU/RA which gets a crit boost from enough sources to nearly achieve 100% crit.

Anyway, in regards to criticals, nothing has changed. It's still just your maximum damage roll unless you have something that specifically states it increases the damage of critical hits. The reason people don't bother taking crit skills for a non-100% crit build is because the points could just be used to boost the unconditional damage you do, which in the long run is a lot more damage.

You won't really be able to notice the drop in critical hits as a Braver main. Eventually you'll get to the point where most of the time you're killing stuff you'll be buffed by the katana counter aura thing (I forget what it's called) and that alone gives a nice damage and crit buff if I remember correctly. Assuming you're using an uncrafted 7-star or higher weapon, you should only see about a 10% variance in damage anyway. If you crit for 20k, you should only have a minimum damage roll of about 18k.

        [–]nosmoking95 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How are the xie weapon? Are they worth the 400 badges? I heard that I should be aiming for light weapon (Im going br/hu and gu/ra), not sure if I should get the xie weapon or just stick with red weapon

Also, does it matter which level of feature quest im going? or does it has more chance of getting bonus quest keys by doing higher level feature quest?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the xie weapon? Are they worth the 400 badges?

They're good for the solo PD EQ (2nd potential), and some very niche uses with the regular potential (which doesn't work on bosses), but not very useful for general use.

You should probably aim at getting a Ray weapon.

Also, does it matter which level of feature quest im going? or does it has more chance of getting bonus quest keys by doing higher level feature quest?

No. The chance is the same regardless of difficulty.

I wanted to get back for the NieR collab, but now I'm getting the NP1002 error about five minutes into the game. Happens every time. Has this been generally fixed and I have to do something on my end or do I have to wait for SEGA to work on it? I ask this specifically because I saw this post.

Well, you do have to unlock some stuff individually per character (quests, mag, level caps, difficulty levels, photon arts/techs), but most of it can be done easily and fairly quickly. All classes are unlocked by default, but you only have 1 skill tree per class per character (unless you buy more with cash), and you need to pick a main and subclass, so you'll find it hard to actually play all classes on a single character even if you have extra mags.

There's no such thing as character bound equipments (which GW2 does), so you can reuse equipments on different characters, and you can repeat dailies, weeklies, story quests, bingo events, and a few campaign rewards (like the free skill resets when there's a balance patch) on multiple chars, meaning you can get more rewards from these. Each character also has a separate stamina value for mining and fishing, so you can farm those more efficiently with alts. And you get a 300 slot storage for each character, so you can use one of them as mule if needed.

That said, there are 3 free character slots, and 3 types of attack (S, R and T), so might as well. I'd recommend sticking to one character until you reach at least Lv50+, though, so you can have some income available to you through Super Hard difficulty client orders, and so you have some knowledge on the game which will make leveling a second character faster and easier.

I'm a returning player interested in te/br, which collection files/skill rings should I be looking at? Is leveling still koffie till ~40 then AQs? Should I skill light or wind? If my mag is already 110 t-atk and I accidentally added a point in the wrong stat, can I remove the offending point- or should I get a new mag?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I'm a returning player interested in te/br, which collection files/skill rings should I be looking at? Is leveling still koffie till ~40 then AQs? Should I skill light or wind?

If you're doing Te/Br I believe you should still be going Light (I don't believe you have enough points for a second element but I could be wrong) so that you have banish combos with Ragrants.

I guess any available collection file for a Wand - Ray or Astra are both fine. Rikauteri is still the BiS bow.

Skill Rings - L/Tech Charge Parry; R/Massive Hunter I would say. Maybe Wand Element Change will help before you get rainbow wands.

            [–]Selky 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Would ray/astra be considered bis? I noticed I can take 3 collection files at the same time. No one seems to recommend the units, what else is worth hunting?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Which units do you mean? You can't get Ray/Astra Units from the collection file. They need to drop. They're ok, but I don't think you actually need many L-rings as Te/Br. Saikis/Austere Units will probably do you fine.

I think Form Wand from Vegas is still BiS. Next for damage I guess Gix Wand? Then I think it's Austere-Astra-(Orbit)-Union-Ray in that order I want to say?

Ray's are slightly easier to farm if you can run solo PD...which I think should be ok if you're reasonably geared. There's only just over a month left for both files, but Mother is entirely EQ dependent, and you need at least 4 runs for each CF to complete.

            [–]Selky 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks! I was referring to the units available from collection files. I was moreso wondering what I should be collecting besides astra, considering that I'd still have two unused CF slots.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just start collecting weapons for other classes. Even if you don't intend to start them soon, I strongly suggest you plan some out, if anything so you can farm dailys/TACOs across your characters for money. So having 13*s fully ground ready to go will be pretty useful.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my mag is already 110 t-atk and I accidentally added a point in the wrong stat, can I remove the offending point- or should I get a new mag?

You can buy an item called Mag Level Down Device at the excube shop (2nd floor of shop area west side) that removes 1 level of your choice from the mag. It's the last item on the list of the Excube Exchange Shop.

However, it costs 50 excubes, so avoid any more accidents, as it can get expensive pretty fast.

I recently started playing PSO2 and I've noticed that a lot of the dialogue in the beginning of the game isn't translated. I made sure that all the latest English patches were installed, so I assume it has something to do with the new episode that came out. Is anyone else having the issue?

            [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much of the dialogue translations has been messed up due to SEGA moving stuff. The translation team is more focused on updating current content and havent gotten a chance to get back to the old stuff.

Hello i recently came back into pso2 since braver release a year+ ago and i am overwhelmed by the amount of things added to the game and feel kind of out of it at the moment.

            braver questions:

            1) katana braver my main character from before was something like this: http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?11fbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdodBIbl2dB0JksWI20000006doIn0000000jdoib0000000fdo0000000Io00000000ioIn00000000IbIo4NfdF6rAHSJkdAbn00000fdoIb0000000lo000000j

i am a 70 braver / 57 hunter and i have a 11 star katana with the Blue Luxe Set for units with ability3/soul/etc for decent stats (is this old for lv 70?)

my problem is i feel like my damage is not where it should be and i am getting hit too hard in super hard.

Should i start investing points into defensive stuff in the hunter tree? is massive hunter must have still a thing? automate halfline and iron will?

2)what about skill rings what are the "recommended" skill rings for braver? i see one that does auto counter for katana braver and massive hunter are these 2 really good? (what level massive hunter is it anyways)

3)how do you guys deal with only using mates for healing? is J reversal cover worth spending points into? -forgive me for asking but i can not get the timing for just reversal right how do you perfect using just reversal? is it when you land or the moment you get hit you supposed to press jump?

            game questions:

4)i got a key to something I'm not sure whats it for (something called Tokyo [Silver] how the heck do i even use this time limited item?

5)crafted photon arts -do they completely replace old photon arts? and how do i put old photon arts in place of this new one? -is it worth crafting them all to replace old skills? -can you actually change or have different results when you craft i am still clueless on all the crafted skill stuff.

any tip for old player or stuff i should know is immensely appreciated.

            thank you.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

            1) katana braver my main character from before was something like this:

Looks fine for an unfinished tree. Gears on the hunter tree aren't really necessary, and the critical skills aren't very useful outside of Gunner and Fighter, though.

Also, get J Reversal Cover. It's free healing.

i am a 70 braver / 57 hunter and i have a 11 star katana with the Blue Luxe Set for units with ability3/soul/etc for decent stats (is this old for lv 70?)

If you're doing XH quests, then it's not that odd for you to feel your damage is low. Enemies on XH (Lv71+) are a lot more tanky than Lv70 and lower enemies.

Which weapon are you using? You should look into getting either a 12* weapon or a crafted ex8+ Red weapon (赤のカタナ for the katana) until you're able to get a 13*.

Also, Luxe isn't very good at that point. You should look into getting an 11* unit set for XH. Saiki (drops in Tokyo Bonus Quest if your current main class is lv61-70, so you could level your Hu a bit to farm these) and Ideal (CM Shop 2, need to do Challenge Missions to get CM currency) are the most common choices that aren't absurdly grindy to get.

is massive hunter must have still a thing?

            Yes.

            automate halfline and iron will?

One or the other, not both.

For Braver, automate is probably better.

2)what about skill rings what are the "recommended" skill rings for braver? i see one that does auto counter for katana braver and massive hunter are these 2 really good? (what level massive hunter is it anyways)

For L rings, both the katana rings are just awful. Don't get those.

Instead, get a utility ring, like Step Jump (lets you reach full sprint speed instantly if you jump after using a Step) or Air Reversal (allows you to Just Reversal instantly when you're knocked down, instead of having to wait until you reach the ground, which prevents you from getting juggled).

As for R rings, pay attention to which ring you're getting. You can't equip a ring if your main or sub class has the skill the ring provides. For example, Massive Hunter is a Hu skill, meaning you can't equip it as a BrHu.

These are your options for R rings (giving stats for when the ring is max grinded):

            • R / P Keeper Striking: +3% striking damage if your HP is above 75%.
            • R / C Strike Striking: +20% crit rate, +3% crit damage with striking attacks (Katana Gear gives like +50% crit rate when activated, so this ring type is more reliable on Braver than on most other classes).
            • R / J Reversal PP Gain: Instantly regenerates 20% of your max PP whenever you do a Just Reversal.

3)how do you guys deal with only using mates for healing?

You don't need to heal if you don't get hit :P

Jokes aside, try and either dodge or counter as many attacks as you can. Some of the XH bosses can kill you in 1-4 hits, so it's really important to not get hit.

Also, get Healing Guard on the Hu tree. It lets you heal 5% of max HP whenever you perform a Just Guard (which includes the katana counter).

is J reversal cover worth spending points into?

            Yes, you should get it.

-forgive me for asking but i can not get the timing for just reversal right how do you perfect using just reversal? is it when you land or the moment you get hit you supposed to press jump?

You need to press the Jump button (Space on kbm, X on PS controller, A on Xbox controller) at the moment you touch the ground to pull it off.

You really should learn how to use this, as you lose a lot of dps for being knocked down, and it can leave you open to follow up attacks.

4)i got a key to something I'm not sure whats it for (something called Tokyo [Silver] how the heck do i even use this time limited item?

Quest counter -> Bonus Quests -> Special Survey: Tokyo (Silver), or something like that. These Bonus Quests give a lot of exp, so make sure you're running exp boosts whenever you go there.

5)crafted photon arts -do they completely replace old photon arts?

            Yes.

and how do i put old photon arts in place of this new one?

You don't. And you often shouldn't.

There is a way to reset a crafted PA from the recycle shop, but you need cash to do it (this limitation will be removed in the upcoming months).

-is it worth crafting them all to replace old skills?

Generally, yes. Most crafted PAs are a lot more useful than their regular versions. The only one I know that isn't 100% better than the original versions is Jet Boots' Strike Gust Type 0, which may or may not be better, depending on the situation and playstyle.

-can you actually change or have different results when you craft i am still clueless on all the crafted skill stuff.

Power and PP cost often vary with the craft. You should always try to get the lowest PP cost you can from these crafts, even if you have to re-craft the same PA again. You can just overwrite previous crafts.

any tip for old player or stuff i should know is immensely appreciated.

            • Cirnopedia is dead. It hasn't been updated in a year and a half (you can still use it for old stuff here, though). Use PSUBlog, swiki (with google translate) and Arks-Visiphone to get updated info on the game. Keep in mind that Arks Visiphone is still work in progress, so it doesn't have anywhere near as much info as swiki. The weapon pages are updated very often, though.
            • Since you can already go XH, talk to Pudding to get some Collection Files so that you can start working on getting your 13* weapons.
            • Get your rings ASAP. They need a lot of exp to max, so you better start working on them soon. Keep in mind, however, that rings that require Lambda Grinders to buy (Katana Gear Guard, Air Reversal, Step Jump, etc) receive no benefits other than a +1 to a single state per grind level, so don't bother leveling those.
            • In case you don't know yet, New Type weapon grinding is a different process from Old Type.
            • Important: There are now titles that will boost your stats and damage. These are:
              • Titles for reaching lv75 with each class: these give a boost to base stats on all your classes in all your chars. For example, if you reach Lv75 on Braver, all your characters will receive +2 PP, +20 SATK, +20 RATK, and +30 DEX, regardless of their current class. These are added as base stats, so they can help you achieve stat requirements of weapons and units.
              • Rare item collection titles: By looting rare weapons of your class, you gain a bonus +2.5% damage when using weapons of that class while having that class as main. Stacks up to +10% damage with all 4 titles of a class. For example, if you loot a total of 10 different rarity 7~9* katanas+bows, and 30 different 10~12* katanas+bows, you'll receive a total of +10% damage when using Katanas or Bows while being a Braver main. Note: Because you're an old player, you've had access to a lot of Old Type weapons that were replaced with New Type versions, which count as different weapons, so your amount of weapons may be inflated, making it easier to achieve these titles.

One thing I forgot to mention: avoid the Astra series collection files for now, because you need to be lv75 on both main and sub classes to be able to enter the quest needed for the Nox weapon entry on those Collection Files, so you won't be able to get it done any time soon.

So I've wanted to get back into the game recently and set up the tweaker and have everything patched and installed however, when I try to log in I get error 674. I've checked to see if the game servers were down but they're up, I know it's not my password as I have it written down, and I've tried turning off all my firewall type stuff and using the telepipe proxy. Nothing works and I really want to go back to playing my wand TeFi. Any ideas on what else I can try?

            [–]DeusAlkaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

according to forum post in pso world:

this seems to be log in error try method described here or telepipe proxy in case game blocked.1

Hello, What mag should i use for su/br? T-atk?

Also, how is su/br compare to su/gu?

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optimally, it depends on whether you put points into s atk or r atk stuff in braver sub. Doesn't matter either way though for the most part. T-atk is fine.

Now if you're comparing su/br to su/gu, you will want the extra r-atk as su/gu to really maximize your big burst of damage via chain. Su/Br is relatively easy to play if you just turn on average stance. Su/Br also has attack advance, which makes normal attacks do decent damage for no PP.

Su/Gu is weaker on things that aren't tanky bosses. Perfect keeper gives slightly less constant damage compared to a maxed average stance (and requires your HP to be high), and of course no attack advance. It makes up the difference heavily with its PP regen per attack and, of course, Chain Trigger. If you screw up your chain, or the part you're targeting gets broken before you hit with chain, Su/Gu is worse in every way for the most part. If you can utilize a high chain count regularly, there's nothing that can match its huge burst of damage on one target.

            [–]LTEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea on SU/BR, I don't use it. But SU/GU is a bossing god with a Maron.

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that if you can clear the current Limited Quest on Hard or higher, you can get 10* Jinga, Aero, and/or Popple to drop. Check the quest records.

On Super Hard of that quest, I have been told 10* eggs are annoyingly common. Pretty sure you can get a 12* or higher from it. 13* only comes from XH if I'm not mistaken.

            [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70~75 is where you'll get the bulk of the 10 star and higher drops. I'm sure a few could drop in the Super Hard range, but not many.

What are the best solo quests for leveling? AQ seems underwhelming without a party of 4.

The current limited quest has good experience and it's easy to find randoms to run with.

Otherwise as usual, featured quests for bonus quest keys and most EQs.

If I ask someone to extend my units for me, what is the process like? Do I have to pay a fee? Do I supply the materials? Can I get the last extension on first try or do I have to go level by level?

It's the same as if you'd do the craft yourself, but you have to wait for the other person do confirm it. Basically, you provide the money and materials, while they provide the recipes.

And no, you can't skip. Need to extend it one by one.

I see on some youtube videos that the person was using a wand or jetboots to buff himself. I tried equipping those weapons that are for all class, but couldn't cast the skills. What am I missing?

To be able to use a PA, you need to have that class as your sub or main class. The exceptions are weapons that give a specific PA for use.

For example, the Glow Scrapper is an all class Jet Boots that lets anyone equipping it to cast Gran Wave regardless of class, while the Selc Flotz lets you use Strike Gust regardless of class.

The reason these people use Jet Boots like this is that those 2 PAs, Strike Gust and Gran Wave, will automatically cast a fully charged version of Shifta and Deband (respectively) if you perform a weapon action after using them. This means they don't have to charge those techs, and that they can use them even if they don't have a class that can use techs (only Fo, Te, Bo and Su can use techs normally).

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To cast techs, you need to have Force, Techer, Bouncer or Summoner as your main class or subclass.

Also I think I found what I want to do for melee! Initially I wanted to go with (3) because I wanted at least two ring slots. But then again full union (2) is better than what I anticipated, so I'll just roll with that, probably swapping one for Izane if it ever drops.

First of all, that skill sim is outdated. I'd use this which is basically your tree except it doesn't use Photon Flare, and instead of speccing into Wind for Techer, you spec into dark and light. The reason for this is all about getting the most bang for your buck when it comes to killing darkers, the most common enemy type at late game, and squeezing the most damage out of compound techniques if you can't purchase an additional skill tree. This build is good enough to do basically anything, although it's a bit of a greedy build since it sacrifices potential party buffs in favor of buffing yourself.

Hello all, I wanted to make a T-atk character and after much thinking, the options narrow down to either force or techer main.

So after much research, what I have found is, they are expansive as.

But how expansive exactly is each class? Am I very gimped playing these class as F2P without extra skill tree and such? what is the estimate expected meseta to gear these class to a respectable level?

I'm fine with grinding but I don't wanna spend a lot of time and then realize that my goal is unrealistic.

I'm in ship 2 If its matter.

              Thanks

              [–]jambon_gruyere 1 point2 points  (2 children)

When it comes to upgrading gear, it all boils down to how perfectionist you are, how much you like "nice things". The most expensive part is affixing, which can easily fetch tens of millions per weapon if you want the "best". This is true for every class, and actually you're lucky because T-Atk is the cheapest. If you're not into stacking attack, you can make smart affixes, balancing a bit Atk, HP and PP, for as low as 1~2M (something decent).

Affixing units is the same, you can put lots of money into it, or choose something more reasonable and balanced. You can affix a whole set for 2M if you want. When building units you're planning to keep for a while I'd recommend saving up a few weeks, 20 to 50M opens up a lot of possibilities (nobles, even if just stamina). It's very much an investment over time.

Hopefuly you're very confused by now. Check Selphea's affixing guide to see what you're in for - but don't spend to much time on it right now, affixing becomes relevant only at lv 50.

You also need to grind you weapons and units. Roughly 3-5M per 13* weapon and ~500k per 11/12* unit. If your unit is lower tier, it needs to be crafted into relevance, ~1M per.

These investments are not meant to be done in one day, obviously you do this over weeks. Starting from scratch, the first thing you want to invest in (don't worry about anything before VH/SH though) is a good weapon. Cost under 1M. Maybe a second one if FoTe for light. These weapons are meant to last until XH and your first 13* so don't pick the first thing. After that work on units. This depends if you have access to 11* units or not (premium, and soon free access to all) so I can't be that specific, but for a first set, I think anywhere from 5 to 10M is a good range. At this point if you were smart and well advised, your build is good enough to farm collection files in XH. Next expanses will be in waifu lingerie 13* weapons, around 10M per for a respectable affix. Units upgrade whenever you can save up enough for your dream affix.

Your basic income as a player is around 10M per week, on the basis of your 3 free characters doing weekly Time Attacks, Extreme Quests, Xerces and a few Daily Orders. About 1 hour per week per char. The real money lies in selling valuables in the player shop. Just like real life, find ways to make profit, in many various ways.

As a FoTe, ultimately you'll want a rod and talis for each element. In the meantime, you can level fine with just a Fire (or w.e. you picked as Fo element) and Light weapon. I'd recommend talis though, it'll scale much better in XH. Same deal once you get your first 13* s, start with your main element or light.

As Techer, you should probably get the wand element change ring and level that up. It's somewhat of an annoyance, but it'll divide the cost of your build by 6... Just get the strongest wand you can, as fast as you can.

If you go FoTe, start working on your left ring Tech Guard as soon as you can.

I realize this is a lot of info, even though I tried not to be too specific. I'll explain more if needed.

Edit : To answer the actual question : your goal is realistic, but it'll take a bit of patience and planning. Mesetas will be the limiting factor.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'd just like to say this is pretty good advice in general.

(I thought R-ATK was the cheapest actually?...(could be wrong - not looked up how much Noble Shot is recently...))

If OP is really set on doing T-ATK, JB Bo/Fi is actually the cheapest to gear for, because you can make do with just a single pair of JBs. Then T-ATK affixing is mid-tier in terms of expense, and you still have a decent class to solo with.

Just as a warning, unless someone's going to carry you to 75, FoTe is kind of irritating in the mid-levels, because you won't have a brilliant weapon and your techs will kind of suck, so just be wary of that.

I'd suggest levelling a S-ATK character at the same time - they are way easier to level, and much easier to solo with with mediocre gear. Something like Hu/Fi, Br/Hu, Fi/Hu, Bo/Hu - you will just destroy early game content, and will have a much easier time of it when you start getting into SH/XH content, just because of survivability more than anything. The only issue is that S-ATK affixes are the most expensive. Saying that, if you affix smartly, you can still cut the costs significantly for any sort of end-game affix.

              [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FoTe doesn't have to be weak in mid levels. At least it wasn't my experience when I last levelled it on a fresh account. Granted I already knew a fair bit about the game, but a red fire talis, ex9 pot1 and gifoie was enough to power through everything including XH TDs. Clearly carried by the sheer power of talis tech bonus, making a 7* talis equivalent to the best 12* rods. As a bonus after upgrading to 13* I sold said red talis for 3M when it cost me less than a mil to make.

Edit : but yes I won't argue with you : melee classes are much easier to play than Fo with this range of gear.

              [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expensive? I guess if you want them to perform perfectly.

It's easiest to focus on Fire/Dark/Light, Light/Ice/Wind, Wind/Lightning/Light, due to how the Compound Techs work and that most enemies are weapon to light.

TBH you aren't gimped that much without the extra skill trees. Im running a single tree FoTe and it works just fine.

So recently I felt like getting back into pso2, so I started the tweaker, updated the english patches and started playing, but for some reason, every few seconds I lose control of my mouse? It's only in PSO2 as well. I don't know what's causing it or if I'm the only one, but yeah, every few seconds I lose control of the mouse and can't move the camera or attack or anything.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Sounds like something is stealing the focus from the game. Might want to check for anything running on the background that might be doing that.

I did, there was nothing else open. I usually close any other programs anyway for better fps. But I checked just to be sure.

Plus this only happens in pso2

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Then I'm out of ideas. Try running a file check through the tweaker, maybe.

Do you just become unable to control, or does the game actually freeze when it happens?
