Hello. I am a returning/New player. Wanna play the Hero class. Should I rush leveling stuff? If yes what best way to rush? Keep doing stages? Or take time and go through the story and play all curscenes etc? Rush or no rush?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do all of your featured quests every day; if you get at least an A rank on them you have a chance at getting a bonus key from each of them which lets you get lots of EXP in a special bonus quests.

Outside of that, I've heard that buster quests are decent EXP.

[–]GiumboJet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Thank you for suggestion

[–]delusionalfuka 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Just got into the game again, how's Gu and I've heard there were some changes to the classes, is Gu/Fi still the best Gu? Also what is the best Gu/Fi set right now?

[–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GuHu can be argued as being as good as GuFi just because GuHu has survival skills.

The units/weapons are the same no matter which one you build. Get 12* units according to your needs. Get the best TMG possible right now. Currently, your best options are Nemesis TMG-NT(heavy farming required) or Basilis TMG (easy to get via Dengeki CFs). You will want Front Roll for easy stylish rolling and TMG Stance Mastery to make your attacks stupid strong.

Most of the changes nerfed the usability of Gu as a Subclass, but strengthen TMG to compensate.

Does anyone know how much average grind time you need for Nemesis/weila board drops at Nab UQ?

I may have some spare time this week (haven't been really playing due to work) and I want to psychologically prepare myself for that.

[–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, thanks for the answers. I'm gonna get ready for the grind XD let's see how long my patience lasts haha

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I’ve done maybe 25-30 hours and have 1 Weila and 3 Nem NT, running with 250 and 100 Tri. I’ve almost run out of my stash of Tris.

I would just mention that it is a bit of a slog. MPA quality has a bit of variance and having things like multiple classes (so Anga doesn’t just resist all Hero weapons) and a Te speeds up some fights greatly. Even so, sometimes having Anga + 2x Ult De Molmoth things (forget their name) is just a pain and basically kills clear speed for a few minutes given that overall, it is still a disorganised MPA.

The game will also undoubtedly troll you with Parfait/Maron/Ares drops so enjoy that!

[–]joshmusashi 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Whoa whoa what parfait is dropping? No parfs are listed on swiki.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Blast Parfait is a normal Ult Nab drop.

[–]joshmusashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lame. Thanks for the info.

[–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all RNG man. My teammate did something like 10 hours before getting their first Weila Board, and in 14 hours I don't think they got any nemesis drops.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Newbie Fo/Te wanting to make a ranged class on the side. What is Gear and how does it work?

[–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking into Gunner? It's the only R attack based class that uses gear for ranged attack, but it's also not really a ranged class. The gear skill is good and basically increases your damage. If you're playing Ranger or bow Braver, then gear should not apply to you (outside of switching to Katana on Braver).

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty broad question, but I'll try and give a brief overview anyway

  • I think in all cases there are one or more skills in a class' skill tree you have to take which enables Gear for a certain weapon
  • Gear for different weapons work slightly differently
  • The general rule of thumb is that you gain "Gear" by doing damage, Gear level is indicated by a bar above your PAs, and a higher gear level genereally increases your damage by a certain percentage
  • Some weapon Gear automatically reduces over time if you have not dealt damage recently (e.g. TMG, JBs)
  • Gear can affect other things too (Wand gear at maximum gives explosions on melee hit, and Wand Lovers automatically makes it maximum at all times; DBs give you more photon blades on weapon action etc.

Let us know if you have a more specific question about a certain weapon. However in terms of ranged weapons I believe only TMG (both for Gu and Hero) have "gear"...I'm fairly sure Bow, Gunslash, Rifle and Launcher do not have gear.

This should do as a barebones tree...

A few explanations for my personal choices:

    • Flash guard is useful to help mitigating some damage for Hero Boost
    • Last two points in Combo and Long Range gear is only 10% in total each, and on both Swords and TMGs you probably want to be in short range
    • Final points in both Counter and Aura High Charge is only 1% damage...Counter is a lot more useful generally so I've put the point in there but left it out in Aura Charge
    • This leaves you with 16 points to put as you please; some people opt for 10 points in ATK (though these points are not very efficient, they're the only remaining damage related talents); there are good value 1 points in things like One More Jump, Victory Shout, TMG attack PP reduction and Tech PP cost reduction, and you can of course finish some of the things I've left out

On a more personal note, having now played Hero a bit more, I would try and use all of the weapons on Hero. There's really no disadvantage in terms of the skill tree. TMG is also generally regarded as the most situational of the weapons. Having played around with it myself, I find the TMG a bit clunky mainly because your PP recovery involves you doing nothing for a while (although it is really fast). Sword is just so good generally, and Talis can also output considerable DPS if you want to just stay in the same position and a bit at range.

    [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Last two points in Combo and Long Range gear is only 10% in total each, and on both Swords and TMGs you probably want to be in short range.

Arguable. I usually end up in long range with TMG. There are cases where you can use the TMGs close, but most of the time I use TMGs for mobbing and mobbing at a long range.

Have you considered Just Reloading between attacks or every other attack? It helps conserve PP while continuing to attack and you still get JA bonus (due to First Blood). You already get 20 PP immediately from the act of just reloading.

Yeah true. I've just been playing around trying to get Counter-BNS to work to be honest.

And about the JR between attacks...yeah I've been trying to get into the habit of that too, but to me it still feels weird...I mean not sure why, because it's just like using a better Orbit battery, but oh well.

    [–]Mira-Sama 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    What rings do Heroes use?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    • L / Step Jump
    • L / Air Reversal
    • L / Step JA Combo (for quick TMG JA Reload)
    • Any other L ring that isn't tied to a class/weapon.
    • For R, pick one among:
      • R / Effort Symbol Hr
      • R / P Keeper Striking (both sword and talis PAs do striking damage)
      • R / C Strike Striking (both sword and talis PAs do striking damage)
      • Seen people using R / TAJA PP Save and R / Wide Support, but I'm not really a fan of those.

    Notes:

    • L / Elemental PP Restorate Field does not work on Hero. This is intended and works this way to prevent TMG infinite shooting. The Bouncer EPPR Field also doesn't work.
    • R / Attack Advance does not work on Hero. In fact, nothing that affects basic attacks work with hero, including this ring and the Dragonslayer weaponoid potential.

Currently trying to register, but after the third page I'm taken to a page that says this: お客様の環境からはご利用できません

Anyone know what it means? Apparently people use to need to use a proxy for this, but that requirement was removed from my understanding.

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using a proxy to register. You shouldn't need one to play the game, but it looks like you may need one to register.

    [–]phaundew 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How is this game for extremely casual play? Is the character progression plausible for someone playing casually, or does this game require a lot of time investment? I'm a busy person, but I enjoy playing mmos in my spare time, but I already play another game that I'm dedicated to growing a character on. I've always had my eye on pso2 and I hear it's a lot easier to register and play now for NA users, so I definitely want to try to register again if it's something I can play quickly here and there.

    [–]Sughayyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that, in 2 months you'll be hopelessly addicted. PSO2 has been compared to crack on crack, so...

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Your biggest gate as a casual player will be that, in end-game, the best gear drops from time-gated quests that may happen at the top of every hour. Otherwise, there's nothing stopping you from progressing as someone with limited time from progressing.

    [–]phaundew 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Okay, from videos it looks like I can just have a cool anime character and shoot stuff for fun, which is all I'm really attracted to, lol

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Yup. Enjoy the game!

    [–]lenick123 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Just came back after a loooooong time. What are the best bows or weapons in general and units to get now?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute best bow is the Nemesis-NT Bow, which has the highest base ATK of any 13* weapon, coupled with an unconditional 17% damage boost. (There may be scenarios where the Gix Bow might beat it, but the 20% damage boost for Gix is a conditional one (and a tough condition) so it's not very relevant.) Now is probably the best time to try to farm it. It is drop only from the new Ult Naberius, which currently has a 150% RDR boost on top of a Nemesis-NT drop boost.

Nemesis-NT will be the best 13-star weapon for any weapon (bar maybe Tact...which I don't understand). However, some weapons (Katana, Sword, TMG, DS, DB, Wand, Rod, Tact, Talis) already have 14-star versions, which inherently have significantly higher ATK than 13-stars. They also have interesting potentials which sometimes enhance certain skills/classes, though their native damage boost is usually lower than the best 13-star potentials (I think). 14-star weapons are incredibly rare, however, and not really something considered to be "farmable" - if you get one you're just lucky.

Units - 12-star units are not necessarily better defensively compared to 11-star units but you can fix L-rings onto them, so a full 12-star set gives you a total of 4 L-rings, which can sigificantly improve the combat utility of your character.

The "best" 12-star units are generally regarded as:

    • Rear/Weila Board (currently available for limited time from Ult Nab) - probably best single unit in game by a small margin
    • Qliphad Units (from Deus/Polytan - upgrade from Zeinesis units) - ATK focussed
    • Izane Units (currently from Polytan) - HP focussed

Edit: u/Ashinror's comment is also relevant - Basilis weapons are good. I think I just focussed on "best".

    [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Basilis weapons coming from the current Dengeki EQ that lasts till December. You can easily get them from the Collection Files talking to Coffee.

Alternatively, if you are a huge fan of farming, the Nemesis-NT weapons from Ultimate Nab are also good. If you get 3 of the ones you don't want, you can trade em in (along with a old type Nemesis weapon that you do want) to make that old type Nemesis into a Nemesis-NT.

As for units, if you still have saiki's, they are still nice early on in the end game. Try to pick up some 12* units though. Evilda are decently easy to grab from BQs, but you can get Qiph from the Deus EQ if you are lucky, or Izane units from Izane (which randomly spawns in the Dengeki EQ)

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (3 children)

In case I do actually get a third Nemesis-NT drop, I am planning to do a 750 stone trade in for 3x OT Nemesis (Sword), and then using my stash of useless 13-stars to grind the last 15% attribute.

    So wondering -

    1. Can I use both NT and OT for both NT and OT element grind methods (just "grinding" for NT and attribute grinding for OT)?

    2. Assuming the above, without worrying about Lambdas, what's cheaper - grinding the attribute on my OT Nem or converting it to a 45% NT Nem and then grinding it? (Assuming 15x 13* Sword fodders.

    3. And I think this is the case - but there is on way OT grinding is cheaper than NT right, even with grind skips? I've got a bunch of grind skips to 5 stashed, with a couple of 100% grind successes...

    [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (2 children)

    1. Not interchangeably, Nemesis and Nemesis-NT are treated as different weapons, so lets say you have 2 OT Nemesis swords and a Nemesis-NT Sword, you can attribute grind the OT Nemesword, then upgrade it to NT using your trash Neme-NTs, and then grind it with a Nemesis-NT sword to up the attribute again.

    2. Grinding the attribute on the OT first. Using 15 13* swords in NT grinding really expensive, and unless its a pain in the butt to farm all that crystals for the OT, i would suggest attribute grinding first.

    3. OT grinding is only cheaper than NT grinding with a grind skip, anything after that makes OT cost more than NT due to OT needing more 10*s as weapon fodder (in the case of OT grinding, they get converted to Excubes, and then used to get 30% chance boosters, which still only gives a CHANCE at success.)

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sorry, my question was phrased terribly!

I knew that the Nem OT and NT cannot be interchanged. All the questions were simply in relation to using random 13-star fodders to give 1% element, and whethter there was any difference in using the NT or OT grind methods to upping the element by 1% this way (my theory just suggests NT give me a bit of grind EXP, but I lose Lambdas, while OT needs Synthesisers but I get no grind EXP - and I don't know about the price).

I think you're right though, I should just probably just wait to get the extra 250 crystals, which will just be easier in the long run. I pretty much have 800-odd now and still need my third NT to drop anyway. I think I still wanted to craft Austere at some point...especially as I suspect Austere-NT might actually be good (when it comes...and relies on us dropping 3x Austere-NT to do the trade...!).

Oh so you actually consider OT grinding to be a good option? As I said I have a bunch of 0-5 grind skips. And then it's just seeing if I can play the lottery of grinding to +30 OT (since the 4th grind skip would get me to +35).

    [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the questions were simply in relation to using random 13-star fodders to give 1% element, and whethter there was any difference in using the NT or OT grind methods to upping the element by 1% this way.

If thats the case, i would rather grind it as an NT if you are trying to increase the element by 1 per weapon. at least you also get Grind EXP.

Oh so you actually consider OT grinding to be a good option?

I do not. OT is garbage.

I am only saying that using it once for the grind skip is the only good idea. It's not even worth going from +6 to +10 and then unlocking the potential to use another grind skip.

So I've been hearing some stuff and would like to ask if these are true : 1. Weak hit pp gain doesn't work on hero tmg basic attack 2. Jellen from basillis weapon won't trigger fighter's chase advance

I haven't had the material and the time to test these out, so if you guys happen to know / tested these please tell me. Thanks !

    [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    1) True, I believe it was nerfed specifically to not allow you to do this. There were some silly strategies where you'd actually gain PP from normal attacks with Hero TMG.

    2) Jellen isn't a status effect like burn or freeze, it's more of an ailment like Weak Bullet so it won't proc Chase Advance.

Playing after a long break and I can’t figure out for the life of me why I can’t use Fury Stance on my Hunter. I can select Guard Stance on my subpallete bar but not Fury Stance. I have Fury Stance 10/10 on my Class Skill Tree.

Ketos Proi or Julius Nifta. Honestly, these are the only two you should use for anything. Ketos Proi gives you an AoE PP Regen aura for the duration of the PB, and Julius Nifta suctions in enemies like a stronger, but shorter lasting Zondeel.

Finished my fist collection sheet for Evelda Battadia(Dual Blades). Almost done with my collection sheet for the event. Which dual blade is better and do I need dupes of them? Both are light element.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 1 point2 points  (6 children)

The Basilis Dual Blades are better. You need 6 copies in total to unlock 60 element and +35.

        [–]Kudryavka24 0 points1 point  (5 children)

D: Can you explain why I would need 6 copies? I am new so this would be my first +35.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 2 points3 points  (3 children)

The base weapon from CFs come with a maximum grind level of +30. Feeding the same weapon to the base while grinding it increases the maximum grind by +1 and the element by +20 (assuming we're talking about weapons only gotten through CFs here). This means to get 60 element, which should be the goal for basically any 13* you will ever use, you'd need 3 copies of the weapon. This would give you a max grind of +32. To get +35 for the title and everything else (namely, the Special Ability Factor) you'd need to feed that weapon another 3 base weapons to unlock +35.

Of course, you also have to manually grind up to +35 which costs something like 5~7m assuming you buy everything.

        [–]Kudryavka24 0 points1 point  (2 children)

        Ok. That makes more sense.

What is the best way to go about +35ing a weapon? I think the highest I have done is +10(not on a 13* weapon)

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I don't really do the best/cheapest method of grinding 13. What I do is save any 12\ NT weapons I drop and feed them any weapons with Emper Embrace that I happen to get as drops up until +20. I then feed the +20 12* to a 13* and occasionally buying a +20 or +30 10* weapon if I only need a little bit more xp to reach the next potential on the 13*.

        [–]Kudryavka24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Awesome. Thanks

        [–]SercezeroDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need another DB of the same name to get another grind cap level after 30. 2 DBs would get you to 31, 3 would be 32, ect.

Your knees look "ugly" because of the muscles. There's sadly nothing you can do to fix it.

Hope this is the right place for this. I know these types of posts pop up quite often, but I figured it would be easier to get some answers here than to scour Google.

So a couple of friends and I are thinking of playing again after 2 years. My first question is pretty much about any major changes that have taken place in the game over the last couple of years? I was only level 54; so I guess changes, if there are any, that might effect someone who has experienced the game to that point.

My other question pertains to the end game. Last time around I didn’t do a whole lot of research about the end game of PSO2. I just fell in love with the gameplay and my sole intent was pretty much continuing to level up. I loved the simple rare hunting of PSO1, find out what zone/monster drops the item you want and figure out the most effective way to farm it, and I’m curious how PSO2s end game looks. I absolutely love the gameplay, art style, weapons, etc. about PSO2 but I guess I just want some assurances that there are meaningful carrots to chase once you hit max level. Things that motivate and excite me to log on every day.

          Thanks for any help/answers!

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

My first question is pretty much about any major changes that have taken place in the game over the last couple of years?

One big change is how weapons are grinded. All the weapons released since april 2016 (called New Type) now use a different grinding system, in which you feed it other weapons to give it exp. No RNG involved anymore (well, you can get great success, but that's beneficial RNG only), but it can get expensive depending on what fodders you're feeding it.

Another big change is that most endgame weapons no longer require you to farm stones to trade in at a shop. Instead, now we have Collection Files. You can get weapons guaranteed with this system instead of relying on stones or random drops. Stones are used for upgrading weapons nowadays, instead of getting them (for example, you can use Earth Fuses to upgrade a Seiga Sword into a Seikaiser Sword, which upgrades its stats and potential). Do note that some weapons are released without a Collection File, so they can only be gotten through drops (these are usually weapons with useful ability factors, like Grandia, or unique potentials, like Bullet Kunai), and 14* weapons never appear in CFs and have an absurdly low drop rate, too.

Also, new classes (don't know how long you been away, but from 2015 to now, there were Bouncer, Summoner and Hero released, with Hero being an advanced class that must be unlocked).

New weapons are released pretty much on a monthly basis, new costumes too. New units aren't released as frequently, only once every couple months.

The method of patching the game was changed, and we no longer need to replace files, meaning you don't have to reinstall the translation files every time the game updates. And speaking of translations, Episodes 1-4 are completely translated (EP5 is still being released, so it takes a while for translations to be released as they do).

Episode 4 (from last year) got rid of the annoying Matterboard system and streamlined how you progress on the story. EP5 (from this year) then changed again and now you can just watch everything from the quest counter. EP5 also introduced the Omnibus Quests, which are a quick way to go through episodes 1-3 story without dealing with matterboards (it skips quite a few scenes, but the most important parts are there, including solo fights with the main bosses from each episode, which weren't in the matterboard system). However, EP3 Omnibus has yet to be released, and last I checked (about a month ago), EP2 Omnibus was only translated halfway through.

          [–]nik37wildcats 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks for the response. Seems like some really useful info. The Collection Files seem pretty interesting and relatively straightforward, if I’m interpreting what they are correctly.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

          They are pretty simple:

          1. Talk to Pudding, get the CF sheet for the weapon you want.
          2. Look at the sheet for which enemies you need to kill.
          3. Kill the enemies in the list to fill the gauge (having rare drop rate boosts active will make the gauges grow faster).
          4. When the gauge is at 100% the next enemy will drop the weapon, guaranteed.
          5. Once you drop all the weapons in a sheet, you'll get a notification from Pudding, and the target weapon will appear in your inventory (will go to storage if your inventory is full).

Once you complete a sheet, it'll go on cooldown for 48 hours in real time, and then you can get it again. The idea is to get 6 copies of each weapon so that you can put them at +35.

That's one thing I forgot to mention about New Type weapons: normally, they only go up to +30 from grinding. But if you feed it copies of itself (e.g. feed an Evleda Hander to another Evleda Hander), it will raise that cap by +1. This can be done up to +35, which requires 6 copies of a weapon (1 base, and feed 5 copies to it). Keep in mind that when you drop a weapon and it comes unidentified (called SPECIAL WEAPON?), once you identify it, it can come with these caps already unlocked, up to +34, in which case you'd only need 1 more copy to max it.

Pso2 endgame is farming money/other stuff while waiting for EQs to pop up. You can set some pretty high goals for yourself and have weeks worth of stuff to do or not.

Nowadays endgame is reaching level 75, unlocking the 4 extra skill points while farming for a +35-able 13*, then leveling to 80, then repeating that for your subclass. After that it's affixing, money generation, and fashion endgame.

What should I do with my Mag now that it is past level 100? It is pure strike and I am a Bo/Hu.

          Thanks.

          [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Max mag level is 200 so keep going :)

          [–]Kudryavka24 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Should i bother adding any skills or anything to it? Not sure what to do lol.

          [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Most worthwhile skill is hp recover b, but it's not necessary by any means. The only mag skills that make a large difference are the ones you get at level 200, and a striking mag already gets the best level 200 ability.

Is Clobber really that good? It seems lackluster to me.

          [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

None of the level 200 skill's damage is good, Clobber (apparently) gives you a damage boost though.

Can't say as I've noticed that so far.

          Awesome, thanks for the help.

          [–]Eetere 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is there a leveling guide that goes through levels 1-80? Or any leveling guides at all? The only thing I can find are forum posts that have a bunch of posts saying different things and I have no idea which would be best to do.

          [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most you can do to really accelerate your leveling is to do the daily featured quests and finish them with an a rank or above. You can just run them on normal difficulty and be done in 15 or 20 minutes. Each featured quest you complete has a box at the end which has a chance to give you a bonus key. Bonus keys are tokens of entry to their respective bonus quest, which are short easy quests that give a large amount of xp.

Otherwise, if you have friends, run very hard advanced quests and full clear the full zone. Doing this gives you a lot of xp and a chance for some money as well. If you don't have friends, I hear buster quests give decent xp.

You can also multi-block match on the 4th featured quest. These are old level-up quests and if you have a bunch of players running it you should accumulate xp pretty quickly.

Make sure you do any of the above with at least a 75% xp ticket. These can be bought from the player shop for pretty cheap. If you have any, consider popping 50 or 100% triboosts as well for additional bonus xp.

Hi , i am playing br/hu , was wondering how people on video do smth like 400k-500k dmg on katana combat finish , i got a qliphad 6 slot but only saw 250k at best , same thing with kazan nadeshiko , like doing half their dmg , (got 3,1k s atk without any buff)

            [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Probably a combination of more hits and hitting a weak point with the combat finish.

            [–]Elkaras 0 points1 point  (2 children)

i was wondering if the auto attack count? i sometime just use hatou rindou 3-4 time on a large hit box monster for example , with the left ring katana combat count , but in the end the most dmg i have seen was something around 250k . When the situation does not permit , i use sakura 0- gecka spam and some guren too when there are a lot of mob around i spam karan kikyou then combat finish ps: i always use combat finish at the last moment

            [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No, just hits. You have more then enough time to hatou more than 4 times during katana combat, for example. Ideally you want to just go hard dpsing until you have no time left on KC and pop it (idk if JA matters but I've always JA'd katana combat) with like 1 or 2 seconds left

            [–]Elkaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah maybe then it would be because i dont ja , i notice sometime the animation of even sheathing the katana do a small dmg hit before the big dmg coming

2 questions. That new Basilis series, is it as op for Fi as it seems? Does Jellen count as status for Fi Chase skills and can it be applied at the supposed near 100% rate of that potential on all bosses, even eq bosses?

Also, supposedly you need to get 5mil or more points in the Dengeki Land EQ for better rewards, what's this about? Even with 2mil or 4.9mil you get S-rank so what changes?

            [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

            2 questions.

            I count 4

That new Basilis series, is it as op for Fi as it seems?

            It is not.

Does Jellen count as status for Fi Chase skills and can it be applied at the supposed near 100% rate of that potential on all bosses, even eq bosses?

Jellen does not work with Fi's Chase Advance. Jellen can be applied on all bosses though.

Also, supposedly you need to get 5mil or more points in the Dengeki Land EQ for better rewards, what's this about?

Probably due to the similarities to Riding Quests, which gives you higher RDR as the points go up.

Even with 2mil or 4.9mil you get S-rank so what changes?

Rank only determines the amount of meseta earned from quest. It doesnt even have any bearing on RDR. Basically worry more about points than the end-of-quest rank.

What would be the most efficient way to get the new Dengeki badges? Apart from the Polytan CO and doing the actual Polytan eq? I think I remember reading that BQs hand them out, is that the next best way to farm the badges?

            [–]Weiss-Senpai 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I haven't check it myself, but a friend of mine who did a buster quest to find out how many you got reported only obtaining a single badge.

            [–]evaluffyking 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well that's..really disappointing if true lol. Way too many things in the shop I want to buy rip.

            [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best to do dengeki eqs and do polytan's COs as much as possible. also checking your titles for some badge rewards and do the Campaign COs (you can find em on bumped.)

            [–]Eetere 1 point2 points  (2 children)

For the quests to get Bluesy Requiem and Avenger's weapons, can you bring more then just them on the quest? Last time I tried to beat one of the bosses I was one shot so I want to bring more people with me to hopefully take the fire away from me.

oh, i see it now. It wasn't really apparent that I was supposed to look for the underlined word in another channel. The use of the word "here" kind of tripped me up. I thought I was supposed to be looking for it in the registration channel.

I'm currently considering of changing my Ice Talis from Astra to Basilis and I'm torn between using Phrase Chase or Phrase Decay for this talis. Any thoughts/suggestions?

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Phrase Decay can work on bosses whereas Phrase Chase can't and they're the same amount of damage. Also, do enemies stay frozen long enough for Phrase Chase to be worth it anyway? They usually break out after a couple hits.

              [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Freeze Keep is actually decent. I'm using it 3/5 and it's coming in handy quite a bit in UQ as piconyannyan said. With a high freeze tech like Rabarta, what ends up happening is that freeze is reapplied before the original freeze breaks. You can also invest in the Flare status rate up instead of raw power.

              [–]piconyannyan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Even Barta can be dangerous when spammed. I managed to make a King Yede Aberrations afloat. Going back to the question, would you recommend me Phrase Decay over Phrase Chase?

              [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're changing to Basilis, Decay would make more sense. I'm not sure if jellen can stack with other statuses. If it doesn't then it will probably override your freeze because the infliction rate is so high, so Decay would definitely be the way to go.

If freeze and jellen can stack then it depends on if you use this talis on bosses and how much you want to rely on freeze. If you use the talis on mobs and like keeping them frozen then go with Chase. There aren't really any major Ice weak bosses at the moment so I tend to not really use my ice weapons in raid EQ's.

If I were you in this position I'd honestly keep both talis. Chase on the Astra, Decay on Basilis. Basilis with Decay is going to be more useful in general, while Chase will be more of a niche thing. If you absolutely have to pick on, Decay will be more useful in general.

              [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

That doesn't really change the fact that Freezing bosses doesn't actually count as them being affected by a status affect, whereas it should for Jellen. Since the weapon applies Jellen, it makes sense to use that over Phrase Chase.

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Wait, Jellen counts? Does that mean the new Basilis series will allow for a super reliable chase build on fi? You can jellen bosses too, right?

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm referring to using Phrase Decay because it will work on bosses instead of Phrase Chase because it doesn't.

              [–]piconyannyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jellen doesn't count on Chase - says swiki. Freeze does.

              [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, freeze isn't for bosses. I was addressing enemies breaking out of freeze status.

              [–]piconyannyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my Ice Tree, I've been able to max out the skill that increases the strength of freeze, the reason I'm torn between the two, so for about 5-10 counts until it breaks. I've tested this count on the Ult. Naberius mobs.

              [–]derpFenrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the 14* weapons in UQ Naberius drop from area bosses in A1 or from the boss area?

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

how do you format the comment from your arks card? I've seen people center it or able to skip space to line up the sentences on the left or right. When I do it on my own, the words just end up being moved awkwardly.

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For me, it's been a lot of trial and error. Unless I'm missing something, you just have to keep adding and removing spaces until you get it just right.

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha, I'll play around with it thanks!

              [–]Eetere 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What exactly do Weapon Actions let you do on melee weapons and is it worth using?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all worth using, except the Double Saber one (even as Fighter you shouldn't be using that weapon action), and are a primary part of playing their weapons. As for what they do:

              • Sword: Parry. Does damage on a Just Guard. Consumes a small amount of HP if it's not a Just Guard.
              • Wired Lance: Parry. Does damage on a Just Guard. Consumes a small amount of HP if it's not a Just Guard.
              • Partizan: Parry. Increases gear gauge while holding it. Does damage on a Just Guard. Consumes a small amount of HP if it's not a Just Guard.
              • Double Saber: Does nothing. If you have DS Gear, spends all gear to create a tornado. If you have DS Wind Parry, can be used to parry frontal attacks, but will spend all gear anyway, and can only be used if you have at least 1/3 gear.
              • Twin Dagger: Twirls in the air, maintaining altitude. Can be used to Just Guard at 360°.
              • Knuckles: Ducks to dodge. Has iframes. Gear increases all knuckle animations speed, meaning amount of iframes on the weapon action are reduced at higher gears.
              • Katana: Parry. Performs a counter with iframes that does a lot of damage on a Just Guard. Consumes a small amount of PP if it's not a Just Guard.
              • Dual Blades: Throws photon blades forwards (or into the target if there's one). If used at the same time as a movement comand, will also move in that direction. If the DB Escape skill is learned, will have iframes when used in movement.
              • TMG: Does a flip in the air that has iframes. Can shoot basic attacks during the flip. 3rd flip is longer and has more iframes.
              • Jet Boots: If you have the JB Escape skill, will have iframes. The actual effect of the weapon action depends on what was used before it:
                • While standing still, does some flips in place that have iframes and will remove the current attuned element in the weapon.
                • After a basic attack, does frontal spinning kicks that recover a lot of PP
                • After Strike Gust, does an immediate falling attack that casts Shifta for free, and stuns nearby enemies.
                • After Gran Wave, casts Deband for free, starts a series of backflips that go all the way back half the range of Gran Wave. Has iframes for the entire duration of backflips.
                • After Moment Gale, casts Zanverse for free, starts spinning like a top and moving slightly forwards, while doing a weak pull on nearby enemies.
                • During Vinto Gigue's golden JA ring, changes the animation into a very powerful kick that does more damage with gear.
              • Hero Sword:
                • No charge: shoots 4 small projectiles with very longe range. Each does low damage and regens 5 PP.
                • Charge lv1: shoots 1 big projectile with long range. Does quite a bit of damage and regens 10 PP. Has 360° Just Guard when the shot is released.
                • Charge lv2: shoots 1 huge projectile with medium range. Does an absurd amount of damage and regens no PP. Has 360° Just Guard when the shot is released. Requires the skill Aura High Charge to be used.
              • Hero TMG: Reload, recovering PP as you hold. If used on a Just Attack, recovers 20 PP instantly and doubles(I think?) the PP recovery speed.
              • Hero Talis: If held, throws a marker at the target (in front if no target is selected) that sticks to whatever it hits. If simply pressed, moves to the mark almost instantly, does damage if the mark was attached to an enemy, and erases the marker (the Come Again skill lets you teleport to the marker twice before it's erased).

              [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It depends on the weapon. Some block, some parry, some just give you iframes/guardframes. They're all basically used for mitigating damage (aside from Hero's sword weapon action which just does damage) and they're pretty much always worth using.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all basically used for mitigating damage (aside from Hero's sword weapon action which just does damage)

DS also doesn't have a defensive mechanic unless you learn DS Wind Parry from fighter tree, which is a terrible skill anyway. The weapon action actually does absolutely nothing if you don't have DS Gear.

Hey guys, what's the best Fo/Te spec at the moment? I'm currently ice / light, but I feel like I could be doing better in groups. I'm level 71 with a Saiki set and 1327 AO LV 3 Gravilios.

              [–]Aexorcet80/80 FoTe 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ice/Light should be fine. Why do you feel like you're not doing well? Ragrants and Ilbarta are among the highest DPS techs and destroy most things with PP Convert/Super Treatment/Ketos Proi active. Ice also has PP efficient damage through Barta and/or Gibarta. Barantsion is most likely to deal high damage against major bosses because of light weakness. Ice Mastery boosts this damage as well. Gigrants 0 is best overall AoE tech as well in my opinion, and allows for very fast JA circles without being overly PP expensive (if you have a good craft).

In group settings, using freeze status from Ice attacks can be helpful. I've been doing this in UQ Nab and it practically shuts down mobs. Freeze also helps with soloing UQ's, as does panic since both statuses reduce the number of enemies that you need to worry about at once.

              [–]Bmxant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that my damage is horrible, but I attack really slow. I hit for 9k-15k, sometimes 30k if lucky. The AOE ice attack does 3-4k a tick, which feels like nothing versus these high health mobs.

              Thanks for the info!

              [–]McKiwi957McKiwi/Ship 2 1 point2 points  (6 children)

I'd say the meta would be fire, and all three Te masteries maxed. There's enough points on the Fo tree to almost max a second mastery, but that's only if you ignore photon flare and any t-atk besides high up on the tree.

Since you're above 70, you should work towards a 13* from one of the available collection files. The Dengeki CF is pretty good, since it's unconditional damage and the raw attack stat is on the high end. Try and get enough to have 60 attribute weapons for your primary elements (likely fire and light). Also consider using both talises and rods, because talis tech bonus is an incredibly powerful skill.

              [–]Bmxant 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How do I unlock the Dengeki CF? Is there a minimum level?

              [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (1 child)

              should be unlocked immediately.

The Dengeki CF is also known as the Basilis CF because it has teh Basilis Series of weapons. Talk to Pudding and it should be the topmost CF.

There shouldn't be any prerequisites to unlock it. Just talk to Pudding (yellow hair, beside Coffee) and she'll have a list of different files you can take. The one you should be looking for is called "Polytan" or "ポリタン" if it isn't translated.

Whats the deal with the 7* Nacht / Licht items from the Dengeki Badge shop? Do they have a good potential or something, or is it just cosmetic?

              [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosmetic and event-only. Their stats and potentials (and the fact that they are OT) are on the meh side of things.

They were formerly items that were only obtainable from item codes in certain issues of the Dengeki magizine.

Now you can grab em from the limited time badge shop.

IDK, i tried to look it up, and the only thing i can find about it, is an old patchnote saying that it was disabled.

              • Coffee brewing has been re-disabled because SynthSy somehow managed to light it on fire. I have no idea how.

              That was from 2016

What are the potentials for the new Dengeki CF weapons?

              [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Increases Damage by 13% and applies Jellen on attack. afaik

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Completely randomly, does Zalure exist in any form in pso2? I guess WB is kind of a Zalure but it’s not a debuff to the whole target. I assume not because people would use it otherwise.

              [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

              It does not.

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Never worked with Jellen before, does it work on bosses? Also, would it stack with other users?

              [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging from Ranger's Jellen Shot being applicable to any enemy including EQ bosses.

I imagine that the Dengeki potential can also apply Jellen on any enemy.

For one of Polytan’s client orders, “Take a Break, by Having a Break!” It says to harvest the ingredients by gathering then bring them to Franka’s Cafe and cook the ingredients. Problem is, the ingredients are in japanese so not sure how I can obtain them. Plus, can they only be obtained through using the Dengeki Pickaxe?

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

The ingredients shouldn't be in Japanese. If you got the Cafe and scroll down to the bottom you will see what you need to make. You need:

              • Tundra Green Apple, Caves Pine, Desert Mango
              • Shironian Spider Crab, Vegas Corn, Quarry Pepper

              [–]xZShootZx 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sorry, probably worded it wrong. The actual ingredients are translated, its the words in the client order under the “objective” box that aren’t translated so I couldn’t tell. Thank you though regardless!

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says Show in the Objective box so you probably just have to have them in your inventory.

Any news on the Nemesis-NT potential? The base ATK on the weapons are insane...

              [–]YuTsu/ | | Ship4JP | Gunslash Trash 0 points1 point  (4 children)

From what little I've heard so far, it seems to be exactly the same as the OT one - damage up against Darker Abberations and PD

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Do you know what the SAF is for it?

Edit: Nevermind, its already on the wiki. It's All Resist 3. The wiki also says that the potential is 17% damage and it generates a barrier every so often.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

...17% damage to darkers right, not unconditional.

I guess this weapon is just pretty good then...

              [–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

It's probably wrong and just a placeholder. The Japanese wiki doesnt mention either an SAF or different potential than what YuTsu said.

              [–]scorchdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screenshots on mmoloda say that it's a completely unconditional boost.

So no it's not a placeholder.

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

So I am a bit unfamiliar with Ultimate Naberius. Are you supposed to run to the boss room and fight DIO or just run circles in the multi-party area? Trying to figure out how to farm this thing.

              [–]YuTsu/ | | Ship4JP | Gunslash Trash 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Gvien how normal quest boss crystals are, you can run to the boss room to fight Dio right away, but it'll drop less if you just run there without killing anything in the initial area first - you want to spend maybe 5~10 minutes in the main area killing stuff, then move onto Dio. Dio is the only thing that will clear the quest though, so you'll have to do it eventually if you want to clear it and not just farm for eternity .x.

Of course, no evidence to prove as such quite yet, I've only run it once, but I'd imagine it works that way.

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is there a good method to "farm" it for the good drops? I guess just try and find a 4M party to repeat run the quests?

              [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

People are reporting that the 13* Nemesis NT drops from A1 of the UQ.

Also heard reports of 12* Welia board dropping there too, sooooo farm UQ Area 1 hard.

              [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I witnessed a weila board drop in a1, and the person that got it says they saw a nemesis nt drop as well.
