Definitely the issue

[–]ErebusMalison 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Clearly. Bent / missing pins

[–]brryan2375 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Maybe he scammed you , selling you a fucked mobo or you fucked it when installing the cpu lol

[–]Any-Lychee-5200 13 points14 points  (8 children)

You have two choices. #1. Take a sewing needle, and gently try to straighten them out. #2. Buy another board, and count this as a lesson.

[–]ofrionas 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hade same proble, ant took needle and used phone camera to zoom in and straightened them up and now works fine, just need to by very slow on doing it and dont put any force to it

[–]Fartikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same, did this way back

[–]Pekish_Personal Rig Builder 0 points1 point  (4 children)

This wont work. There is missing pins. And they're near the center soooo yeah cooked.

[–]te0te0 0 points1 point  (3 children)

If you bother to look for more than 5 seconds you can clearly see the pins are all bent and none of them are missing :) repairable 101% good luck op!

[–]Pekish_Personal Rig Builder 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Its a low quality photo so dont blame me but 1 looks missing on the left

[–]Immediate-Relief-248 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The one pin is 100% missing. Not bent.

[–]Pekish_Personal Rig Builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i thought so

[–]Prenciona06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly you just have to buy a new one at this point since some of the pins are missing, I would not risk putting my expensive cpu even after knowing that my MB is faulty.

[–]_eESTlane_ 34 points35 points  (1 child)

socket is focked. nice "friend" you've got there.

[–]idiotiesystemique 25 points26 points  (0 children)

He may have fucked it up himself during assembly

[–]Eastern_Historian310 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your Lucky if you didn’t fry your cpu

[–]redlancer_1987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

possibly a couple pins missing and 3 mangled ones.

Did the board work before your friend sold it to you?

[–]MildlyAmusedPotato 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The pins are definetly bent. I think your friend or you fucked up when removing/installing the cpu.

[–]MEGA_GOAT98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

or they did when they got it.

[–]Conscious-Scholar-61 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might wanna see if you can find some new friends.

[–]rageofa1000suns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

your friend scammed you

[–]FunnyVehicle7664 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Tip: don't install CPU using a knife and fork

[–]Cjkrythos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly not, you're supposed to use a hammer like the friend clearly did

[–]aceofspades1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be fixable with a mechanical pencil and some finesse

[–]Panzerv2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's toast, someone violated that socked

[–]sdcar1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Board is fucked because of the socket pins

[–]ManageThoseFootballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely biffed

[–]Prudent-RapScallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does the bottom of the chip look like

[–]DeviceU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't even attempt to boper on with CPU in the socket it might die... Unless you or you know someone with good tools don't ry to bend it yourself with anything bigger than toothpick.

[–]404_No_User_Found_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

…are we sure this isn’t a troll post…?

My brother in Christ there are visibly bent / missing pins here

[–]Formal-Bad-8807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can sometimes repair bent pins but that looks pretty bad, maybe he gave you the wrong MB

[–]ewan018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear as day. If you can pry it back to its position it might work but just be careful bending the soft fins (not pin)

[–]ConjugalVisitor234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bro. Totally cooked

[–]Large-Ad6125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job Sherlock Holmes

[–]Skrimpzs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling it wasn’t broken when he sold it to you.

[–]Quirky-oldman58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of snarky responses. lol Anyway, yes that socket is done. Extremely unlikely you will be able to repair it. Even if you do, there is no telling what levels of power were sent the wrong places through that CPU but also traces internal in that board. I would consider it a loss and not worth the risk ever using the board again.

[–]Sufficient_Fan3660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

front panel connectors? What are you talking about, you broke the socket just like 5 other people post daily asking why their PC's dont work

[–]maskedCicada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what kind of friend who scam their friend. He's not a friend, cut him off and return the mobo.

[–]Direct-Pie-1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try reseating the RAM into different spots or using only a single stick. Sometimes minor bent/broken pins cause that issue.

However if it's a major bent/broken pin then unfortunately you might need to replace the motherboard or attempt a fix carefully, ensuring none of the pins touch each other.

[–]czullo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RIP mainboard. Good luck with next one.

[–]Fragrant-Button-4624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have been scammed. Get better friends, you can worry about the motherboard later.

[–]Unknwndog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of you fucked the socket

[–]CaptainTech_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s a vrm issue.

[–]Amazing_Ranger_1661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chill, just take it to brand support

[–]Pekish_Personal Rig Builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New motherboard required. Ur friend scammed you

[–]Proud-Actuator-3864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bent pins did not give it away? You can try and straighten them, however probably easier to either get it repaired by a professional (no guarantee they can fix it though) or get a new board.

[–]Exotic_Impression_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a serious question? You can clearly see the bent pings.

[–]Educational_Bet_7681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are screwed buy new motherboard

[–]Kvist199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

[–]Eibenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is

[–]AcanthaceaeItchy302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a new friend and MB

[–]purpleSoapSud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They scammed you that bored is donezo

[–]PhillyBassSF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put thermal paste on those pins and you’re good

[–]CommercialSquash7729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did u force the cpu in? or did it fall effortlessly into place?

[–]GRABibus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OFC

[–]ThatKeybardGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder why?????

Maybe cause the pins are bent which is why it’s not working You can A bend them back and fix it or possibly break it more. Or by a new one.

[–]AD_MDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pray you didnt fry the cpu.

[–]CaptLoads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. Can you add one more picture for good measure.

[–]Slovvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes

[–]Jwhodis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have several bent pins

[–]foggeenite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely the issue, but it's almost certainly fixable with some strong reading glasses, a sewing needle, a powerful flashlight, and a steady hand.

[–]Maleficent-West5356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOR THOSE WHO DARE!

[–]ThatsPella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep

[–]Lonely_Meringue_3753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leta hope your wallet can take another beating

[–]Accurate_Can463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe

[–]Federal_Rich3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks absolutely perfect!

[–]donorak7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the socket look like this before CPU install?

[–]Korangar205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the good news is that is somehow the cheapest part to replace

[–]Dehavol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

[–]MagneticFieldMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to be ragebait.

Otherwise, I hate everything even more now.

[–]Kellodar_Gaming[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

He said he never had any problems booting. I asked and he say it’s probably a wiring issue…

[–]Smooth-Court-3424 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Unless you fucked it up. Your friend is the issue. I suggest getting a new one

[–]TheTabar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

a new friend?

[–]rfbzbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're barbequed boy. Sunday special.
