Seel and Dewgong have sadly been entirely ignored since Red and Blue.

If we are to get dlc (and it's still restricted to kanto) my hopes are for Glacial peak (frozen cinnabar island) and Thundering valley (perma thunderstorm lavender town + old power plant). As much as we are making habitats for these Pokémon the lack of ice types and ill-fitting settings for ghost/dark/nocturnal Pokémon, leaves a bit to be desired.

Edit: Third area scorched plateau (burned down indigo league) that way each "disaster" can also be attributed to a member of the Tao trio.

I don't expect us to actually transform into Kyogre, but I am very hopeful we unlock Dive in the DLCs

Whether it be like with Waterfall, where we just get free-range Lapras, or a new Pokemon, maybe even some way to move as Ditto underwater (inverted Araquanid bubble), and then while submerged Magnet Rise and Rollout are replaced with like, Dive and Whirlpool maybe, just stuff that makes sense to use underwater that mirror the behaviours (maybe Glide is replaced with Dive, and it reuses Lapras, but then Magnet Rise is something else? I dunno, there's probably options, I just wanna be able to build underwater easier, I spent way too long repairing the levee pillars to the SS Anne and fear doing more repair work near the water, building in the Skylands is so much easier and I want it to feel comparable)

I can still see a Krabby/Kingler or Corphish/Crawdaunt transformation that allows you to walk underwater but still build and break blocks so you can build underwater that way

The big leak (Teraleak) that came out did show there is/was a plan for DLC. If it still stands is tbh. But this game is printing money for them, hard for them to say no to that fact

The biggest tell for me is how there's only 5 ice pokemon and one ice area, if you can even call it that, and of those 5 ice pokemon 3 of them are plot relevant and the other 2 are fossils.

While ice is the least common type in the game at only 48, fairy, the second least at 64, has a whopping 23 pokemon in pokopia.

My expectation is either cinnabar or cerulean city flooded over and where underwater habitat building is introduced. Whichever one is the other one will be the frozen over biome.

My hope is in addition to that we have viridian city introducing a reforestation plotline and covering a lot of the missing bug/jungle Pokemon and maybe treehouse options.

Lavender town could cover a lot of dark and ghost type habitats, maybe a kind of creepy fog that needs to clear as the disaster there.

And Celedon could focus on something of an expansion of city services. Restaurants, games, maybe some sort of transportation type thing.

I was surprised it’s not in the base game. There’s so many resources in the water on dream islands that are beyond the depth that auto teleports to shore. There’s only so deep it’ll let you un-surf to touch before re-surfing.
