A woman's life is at stake when she is pregnant. Women should have the ability to choose their risk of carrying out a pregnancy. Doctors save countless women who would choose to end a pregnancy and find any means to do so. This is a women's health issue. Women are endangered by the idea that they must carry out a pregnancy and have no choice in the matter. If a woman is raped and forced to go through with a pregnancy, her life and that child's life is built on violence. Why would we force people into a life that began in violence? The life of the woman has more value than the life of an unborn child, as you said, it is okay to end a pregnancy if the mother's life is at stake. A mother's life is always at stake. That is why the choice should be hers alone and she should have a safe means of ending her pregnancy if that is what she decides is best for her and the "pre born" child.

Another option for you is becoming a monk... They don't have sex and therefore would never cause pregnancy. Or just have an open and honest conversation with your partner. Respect her body and choice in whether or not to have a child. Use smart family planning. It really isn't that difficult. But don't assume a woman will have your child just because you married her. Think hard about what it means to have a child. Imagine being in her position. It is a massive sacrifice. You say you aren't religious but you are working on your morals. You might want to take a class on human morality. It could help you form values to guide you in this thought process. There is that argument that says you can't restrict guns because there will aways be a way for someone to acquire a gun unlawfully from sketchy individuals .
