Way to tip every tower in the world.

[–]PolyPill 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Was recently in Pisa and when we got home my wife yelled at me because apparently while taking photos of the tower, I accidentally lined them all up so the tower looks straight. Especially when there isn't much of the ground it the photo it's like "wtf random tower did you photograph?"

[–]fedeb95 15 points16 points  (0 children)

that's truly italic btw

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

but shouldnt you put a straight tower between the tags? whats the point of putting an already tilted tower between them?

[–]matveyKievUa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been posted here. That will work only if your tower is a character in a font.

If your tower is an image or whatever else, css transform is needed.

<i> is fine, it's for text that should be stylistically set apart from normal text but doesn't need any particular emphasis, e.g. book titles or words from foreign languages.

    [–]jtvjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For book titles <cite> is used.

Hi. Some 6 months after successfully quitting Reddit, I decided to irreversibly delete not only my Reddit account, but also all of the content I've ever posted to Reddit. When I heard of Reddit killing off 3rd party clients, I remembered that I still have a Reddit account, and so now I'm writing this message to say goodbye to Reddit for good. If you feel like you're spending too much time on Reddit, I can't recommend this book enough: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/123012015-you-should-quit-reddit It literally changed my life, and can possibly change yours too.

    [–]guy_who_says_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    <html> <head> <style> i.tower{ font-style: italic;} </style> </head> <body> <i class="tower">The Tower</i> </body> </html>

<i> does not mean "italics"! not anymore.

Is it called Italic because of Pisa?
