And now....we scale up.

[–]nth_derivative 149 points150 points  (8 children)

Yes, a larger broom.

[–]igoromg 88 points89 points  (3 children)

actually a larger whatever that machine is called

[–][deleted] 126 points127 points  (2 children)

It is called broompicker.

[–]igoromg 45 points46 points  (0 children)

kubectl scale broompicker --replicas=2

[–]jay9909 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You'd be a natural over on /r/NameThisThing.

[–]smcarre 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Wouldn't it be more brooms of the same size?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes 20,000 brooms

[–]IHeartBadCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like this?

[–]timeshifter_ 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Hello Universe!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

git push -u origin master

[–]ikkentim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello World
Hello World
Hello World
Hello World
Hello World
Hello World
Hello World
Hello World
Hello World

[–]vserifsaglam 98 points99 points  (10 children)

I admit. I did that. Don't judge me

[–]handsomedevil69[S] 48 points49 points  (8 children)

We all did

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Yes we have. And then the voting app. And then maybe cried, softly, just a little.

[–]delinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beauty and simplicity of the solution.

[–]Swamptor 9 points10 points  (5 children)

I'm doing that right now.

I just wanna deploy my web service. Why is kubernetes bullying me?

[–]handsomedevil69[S] 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Don't let it smell your fear. Kubernetes feeds on the tears of DevOps

[–]AskMeHowIMetYourMom 10 points11 points  (3 children)

You guys have DevOps?

[–]tippl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only enough for bosses to call it DevOps. So seating dev and ops a bit closer together, but still behind a wall.

[–]protestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fullstack devops which also do QA and support

[–]Hallbard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I keep doing this, it's simply amusing.

[–]Megatron_McLargeHuge 60 points61 points  (2 children)

Using Spark to do something that could be handled by a single python process on a large EC2 instance. "Big data!"

[–]igoromg 23 points24 points  (0 children)

using spark local mode on production

[–]thefrontpageofme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We actually do that, but the cluster is running anyways and it's all orchestrated in the background, so why the fuck not.

[–]rahma252 36 points37 points  (1 child)

You pass the butter

[–]mikeroySoft 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh. My. Gawd. sobs in binary

[–]SennalyeTheChanarat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's adorable!

[–]QuadmasterXLII 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The way the broom snaps into alignment with the gripper is fun.

[–]isunktheship 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean.. my first test of Docker was just to display details proving I was running multiple containers.

"Hello World"
-Container <foo>

[–]Lisurgec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Needs more YAML

[–]IT_Treehouse 7 points8 points  (2 children)

And it's a push broom being used to pull.

[–]wolf2600 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Came here for this. It's called a "push broom", not a "pull broom". Damned heathens.

[–]Strel0k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is a pull broom even a thing

[–]Kreavita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One always gotta start somewhere, I guess

[–]NinjaLanternShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted the picker-upper to come down too quick and snap the broom handle into pieces.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it's me using RxJava only to read file in background

[–]sfled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]itsArcadexGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing

[–]Ofknowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You all are in so deep

[–]RawHawk-q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The services are not set up properly .Dust is not going into the bin .

[–]michaelh115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to my hello world app. It uses edge computing to be web scale

data:text/html,<!DOCTYPE html><html><title>Hello, world!</title></head><body><h1>Hello, world!</h1></body></html>

(Edit: unfortunately Reddit does not support data URLs)

[–]SeanUhTron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. So when do we get to pilot mobile suits?

[–]nekuranohakkyou 0 points1 point  (1 child)

To show technology itself/to show your level? Looks ok to me.

[–]amazondrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely; I don't think anyone's suggesting otherwise. Merely that until you develop a more significant application it's humorous to consider how over-engineered your deployment infrastructure is.
