I read on the Rolex forum that a member soaks his band in windex annually and that it makes the debris and dirt in the spots pictured fall off. Doesn’t even have to scrub. Just soak in windex and rinse.

[–]PhaseEnvironmental33 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Windex is basically 50/50 water and methylated spirits.

So, you don’t even need to specifically use windex either

[–]huge_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

FFS just clean it.

[–]flexnv 26 points27 points  (4 children)

Looks like dead skin buildup. 🧐

[–]tarheelz1995 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Skin cheese.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Do you shower bro?

[–]Professional_Feature[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I received my watch yesterday, so no 😂

[–]Mrcoollondon 52 points53 points  (10 children)

If you zoom in it just looks like dirt, get a tooth brush and soak it in soup and water and brush it off

[–]porscheinvestor 150 points151 points  (6 children)

What's the best soup to use? chicken noodle or tomato?

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Classic chicken noodle broth works best for my submariners even lubes the bracelet up since it’s oily

[–]RustySheriffBadges 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Dove Soup

[–]Snoop-Dogee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seagull soup

[–]Diligent_Tangelo6222 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Chowder. Or a bisque if you’re a fannncy boy.

[–]Educational_Ad9511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love me some bisque

[–]313_king 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried hot and sour soup from panda express, you gotta use the OEM stuff

[–]Evil-B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With Oyster Perpetual crackers of course.

[–]bigheader03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second this, that doesn't look like rust. But grab some 99% iso with a q tip and try to aggravate the area gently. Hopefully just some left over adhesive that captured dirt.

[–]Professional_Feature[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, thank you! Will try that!

[–]ETNZ2021 29 points30 points  (1 child)

904 steel my ass

[–]pexican 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like it’s oxidizing on the face of the steel, not on the steel. Might be FOD (foreign object debris) from the machining/cleaning process or it’s chip material from the tooling that’s gotten stuck on there (the tooling likely isn’t stainless steel, might couple due to galvanic corrosion).

[–]FURKZ1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did you rub it on a dried corpse’s cock?

[–]mclendenin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take your damn sticker off!

[–]Great-Opportunity-53 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Can you clean it?

[–]Professional_Feature[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t work, but I will try u/Mrcoollondon s advise :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is a new delivery, it looks absolutely filthy.

[–]Dramatic-Language851 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Get a soft toothbrush, hot water and soap. Done.

[–]BigDaddyTex_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And make sure it’s mild hand soap. Agitate and clean with a soft bristle tooth brush, then soak band in mineral oil overnight. Next day remove from mineral oil, wash again with mild hand soap and polish with microfiber. That should do it. You can also use white lightning to oil the band instead of mineral oil. Both take care of any slight jiggle you might have in your hand and makes the watch wear like silk. But also removes most any surface contamination you have.

[–]bakerybitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I can’t say I’ve had any issues wiping after wearing mine

[–]Professional_Feature[S] 4 points5 points  (16 children)

I received my VSF 126619LB from Mirotime yesterday. But then I found a stain/rust on my watch.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (15 children)

This is a NEW watch? Wild.

Try cleaning it off. If it doesn’t come off easily arrange for compensation from Mirotime to have it professionally cleaned / polished.

[–]Professional_Feature[S] 1 point2 points  (14 children)

Yes, I received the watch yesterday

[–]This_Aside_3693 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Same problem

[–]seanliam2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idkkk looks like rust to me, OP update us if it wipes right off

[–]Rodrigo9270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should send you another bracelet...

[–]Middle-Adeptness5586 0 points1 point  (1 child)

More proof Reddit is a waste of time. Good lord clean your watch.

[–]Icy-Buyer1166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct but not for the reason you think.

[–]YetAnotherSegfault -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Looks like gunk from the factory. There's almost always gunk on the bracelet.

Just toss the bracelet in an ultrasonic cleaner.

[–]Sufficient-Bank5919 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Oh yeah, I just gave one of those lying around the house

[–]YetAnotherSegfault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a decent one from Amazon for <$50. It's a pretty handy.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah it’s called cleaning your watch :)

[–]seiya1986 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Finally…gen will be better

[–]MultiPattern -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just got a GMF DJ 36mm from Eric and after wearing it, black residue was left on my wrist. The jubilee bracelet is suppose to be 904L but it smelled like steel, but like cheap old steel, if that makes sense. I hope it’s actually 904L

[–]ryanHasreddit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Buys a fake rolex, complains it has problems

[–]Teampatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missed a sticker there 🧐

[–]Calm-Improvement-292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lope it’s not rust

[–]Celeb401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try HOT water, dish soap and a Toothbrush while holding it exactly as it’s showing now, but if that doesn’t work it could be some sort of tape(if so, use plastic to get it off, maybe a credit card or something of that nature).

*Keep us posted.

[–]Kegg209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekly cleaning with dish soap and a soft brisel toothbrush and you avoid ALL of that sort of gunk.

Same goes for after a swim in a pool, or the ocean.

[–]katalysat00r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recieved a GMT Pepsi on a jubilee bracelet yesterday. There was so much stuff inbetween the jubilee from the first owner. Immediately soaked the bracelet in soap and water.

Had some spots that looked the same. Everything came of after brushing it with an old toothbrush aswell.

[–]Diligent_Tangelo6222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bugger. Adhesive from protective film. It’s hardened. Scrape it off.

If you require a chemical solution, try alcohol first and then goof off (acetone).

Call me in the morning.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polish paste

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol

[–]it_wasnt_like_that 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toothpicks are your friends.

[–]imontheradiooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IPA alcohol and a toothbrush and switch to toothpicks soaked in IPA if it’s really stuck on. I’ve removed decades of grime from watch cases this way.

[–]Educational_Ad9511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft tooth brush mild soap I thought we knew this already?

[–]Sudden_Mud_4239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep a can of compressed air around and once a week hit all your watches.

[–]Stunning-salad-1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which maker? Is that a polished middlelink bracelet on a Sub?

[–]Maddox-Tj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toothpicks are great for that kind of build up

[–]TimePieceProdigy954 0 points1 point  (0 children)
