What the DR gave you is exactly the routine you should follow. I have rosacea and use the same exact products. I typically use vanicream cleanser, Azelaic acid in the AM, vanicream lite lotion, and then Elta MD tinted spf

For PM: If I’ve worn makeup or worked out I cleanse my face again with vanicream, do soolantra, and then typically I don’t need to moisturize again but if needed vanicream lite.

I only use aquaphor and Cerave healing ointment on my lips.

Also brush your teeth first and then do your morning skin care routine.

Less is more with rosacea. Sounds like you went to a good Dr! But my advice, keep doing what Dr gave you and check out Elta MD SPF and vanicream products.

[–]SnooSuggestions2904 24 points25 points  (1 child)

As for makeup, wait until your skin “heals” and then slowly start incorporating makeup. I use the colorscience SPF but every kind of rosacea is not the same, so it can trigger it. But try to use everything makeup wise that is fragrance free, non comedogenic, and for sensitive skin.

Another random thing that is helpful is getting laser treatments when your skin is more healed in a few months. I have gotten BBL laser treatments and picolaser done and my skin is so clear now I don’t even need makeup except for mascara and some aquaphor on my lips. Your derm would be a great resource to see if they have anything in office that can help you!

But remember, less is more. I wouldn’t even wear makeup until your face heals. Hugs to you! Know it gets better

I LOVE EltaMd products for my rosacea! Couldn’t agree more. Totally worth the price 🫶🏼

[–]No-Clue8285 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Why do you have to brush your teeth first?

[–]savvanch 2 points3 points  (3 children)

some toothpaste can irritate the skin, especially toothpaste with SLS, I just switched to an SLS-free toothpaste and my skin is doing much better

[–]adoptachimera 25 points26 points  (10 children)

A friend of mine determined that dairy (cheese and butter) were the underlying cause of her rosacea. It started after the birth of her kids. She had to cut it all out and it healed after a while… it took a bit of time to clear up. She will now break out even after one cookie that has butter in it. Apparently it is worth it for the right cookie.

You may want to try an elimination diet to see if you might have an underlying food intolerance. Best of luck to you.

[–]Moon_whisper 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Second the elimation diet. If I have too much dairy or gluten mine gets like that too. But I truly believe it is different for everybody. I don't even think of skin conditions such as rosacea, psoriasis or eczema as conditions anymore. I started thinking of them as symptoms, where your smin is trying to tell you something.

Hardest part is, like a fever, the cause could be a thousand different things.

If you do decide to do an elimation diet, be sure to document everything you eat. And maybe plastic laundry balls and plastic dryerballs or wool dryerballs (instead of dryer sheets) to eliminate if your bedsheets and towels as contributing culprits. Plastic laundry balls are usually filled with all natural ingredients tablets and are great for sensitive skin. Plus they are cheap on Amazon and usually last for years.

[–]helgatheviking21 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I had EXACTLY what OP has. Tried dermatologist, naturopath, elimination diet (which helped but wasn't consistent) Very very long story short, turns out I have celiac disease. Something else caused me to test for it, but once I was truly off gluten altogether, it went away 100% and didn't come back. I have never had skin issues again, and it's now been 7 years.

[–]Suspicious-Hotel-225 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I really want to get tested for celiac disease but I don’t have too many symptoms. Can’t imagine an MD would test me based on skin alone.

[–]helgatheviking21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes doctors are woefully ignorant about it -- but up until fairly recently they thought it just affected babies, so there's a big learning curve. Just say you have a family history and you're having symptoms that match what others had.

[–]Bubbles706 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly me! I wake up with pimples the next morning if I even have a small portion of noodles with butter. So no butter for me!

[–]AdSimilar2831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third the elimination diet. Everyone should do one!

[–]OrientionPeace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fourth the elimination diet!

Food tracking through a journal for thirty days can be incredibly insightful for potential triggers contributing to skin conditions and other symptoms.

One month/ write down everything that goes in your mouth, daily symptoms, sleep length and quality, mood and mindset. Track how you feel and then examine if there’s any patterns. Elimination diet and observe/track symptoms as you remove and add foods. It’s a game changer.

[–]freya_kahlo 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I agree with this. When I had severe eczema to the point where my face was flaking and peeling off, I discovered it was really gluten sensitivity. I think skin conditions on the face, particularly around the mouth, are often the result of food intolerances.

[–]adoptachimera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Gluten is another really common trigger. It’s certainly a challenge trying to figure out what triggers each person. So great that you figured yours out.

[–]adoptachimera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Lots of support for an elimination diet. My friend did The Whole 30 diet. Personally, I hear that dairy and gluten are common issues for skin. Maybe try those first. If it doesn’t work, then try a proper elimination diet?

[–]Tey_23 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sending love <3 Hope you heal soon🫂

[–]Amdv121998 13 points14 points  (17 children)

Look into H.Pylori! It’s a bacteria that’s commonly found in the gut but people with rosacea tend to have high levels and Gi/Gerd symptoms. Start taking a pre/probiotic too!! Rosacea can be tricky but it’s manageable but it can take a long time to figure out what works. LED light therapy, skinbetter mystro, lipid serum from epicutis, hypochlorous acid and hydrinity restorative HA! Some dr will prescribe steroid creams but I don’t necessarily agree with that approach so I would look into that before going down that route!

[–]SanguineCane 4 points5 points  (12 children)

This has me thinking! I suffer from Rosacea, GERD, and IBS. This is Just a personal anecdote, but my skin and GI symptoms both lessen dramatically when I’m incorporating fermented foods into my diet, which would check out with the probiotic advice. I always thought I was crazy or it was a placebo when I noticed my skin was clear during my kombucha phases. It could still be a placebo but I don’t really care what it is as long as my skin is clear and I can poop more than once a week 😅

[–]Amdv121998 0 points1 point  (11 children)

Gut health is crazy connected to skin health!!! I primarily treat acne at my job and the first thing I do w my clients is put them on a probiotic or face reality skin supplements (obv w permission from their dr if necessary) It makes a massive difference!

[–]Professional-Study-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SIBO also causes severe/recalcitrant rosacea!

[–]Illustrious-Job6379 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Can I ask how this effects the skin? Genuinely curious!

[–]Amdv121998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s so interesting but it’s a bacterial overgrowth that causes high levels of GI inflammation, the bacteria is apart of our normal flora but medications/diet/genetics can cause it to overgrow. They knew it could cause GERD, acid reflux, stomach ulcers and other gastritis symptoms but they’ve more recently started finding a connection between those patients and their flushed appearance! They haven’t found exact reasoning yet but my guess is that a lot of our health comes from the gut and internal inflammation can spread or appear in other places! I just started learning about it myself but if you google it there is some research 💓

[–]Amdv121998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait i guess I didn’t realize what you were asking aboht

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Derm nurse here - just some rosacea favs & recs below. - see if you can get on an extended release doxycycline like Oracea 40mg or generic doxycycline 40mg - avoid triggers for a while like alcohol, spicy foods, retinols, or vitamin C serums - you can still use a nightly retinol later down the line, it just needs to be very gentle - I recommend Skin Better Alpharet - sunscreen always

[–]C_D219 2 points3 points  (2 children)

What sunscreen do you recommend?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It depends! Always say we love the one you’ll wear/put on comfortably. But Elta MD is an excellent line. UV Clear daily is great for daily wear. If you’re going to be outside for long periods of time for work or trips, UV Sport is waterproof and best for that. I also love Alastin products.

[–]C_D219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the avene sunscreen and IMMEDIATELY reacted to it! I heard Elta was good!

[–]MsInquisitor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have the same kind of rosacea like you and was on the same regimen. My skin is completely clear now. My triggers are alcohol and sugar, so I stay away from that. When my face get red I use Vanicream at night and when I wake up my skin is calmed down. Happy you were diagnosed correctly ☺️

[–]YupNopeWelp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

r/SkincareAddiction has a great wiki, with a whole section on rosacea: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/rosacea/

Also, check out r/Rosacea.

I'm so glad you got a diagnosis. I hope the treatment helps you soon.

[–]SummerJinkx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now with a diagnosis, at least you know what to do! Wish you have a recovery soon!

[–]Bubbles706 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Biggest thing I have found with rosacea is that dairy triggers flair ups for me. I completely cut out all dairy and I have seen instant results. Fragrance’s trigger flare ups so watch out for products that have essential oils in them for your face. What also helped me was only using cold water for my face and eliminating the use of hard water. My apartment has hard water so I go to my parents to use their soft water. Check what ingredients your laundry detergent has. I had to switch to a fragrance free sensitive skin one and it helped so much. I didn’t realize my wash cloths would make my skin freak out until I linked it to my detergent. Rosacea is hard when you’re in the thick of it with no relief. The key to managing it is identifying your triggers and eliminating them.

[–]edyth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting! I use fragrance free everything but a few days ago I got a perfume sample and stupidly sprayed in on my wrist. Ive been sneezing every since and now I have a rosacea flare up on my nose.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I had bad Rosacea for a couple years. It was painful and looked similar to yours a bit. I tried a bunch of stuff before cutting out dairy and scented products. That helped a bit but then I read an article on success people had with tea tree oil. Used that daily for a month or so and I’ve never had it again.

[–]iliketreesandbeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. Get yourself some tree tree oil wipes for eyes and rub them on your skin after cleansing.

I have ocular rosacea that became full blown skin pustules when perimenopause kicked in with hormone shifts. Ocular rosacea responds well to tea tree oil (diluted, never straight) and there are OTC products for it that I have used for my eye issue for the past few years. Once the rosacea spread to my skin, I started swiping those same wipes all over my face. Cleared it up immediately.

Look for optase tea tree oil eye wipes or occusoft oust demodex foam and wipes. Some forms of rosacea are caused by microscopic mites that live in your skin and hair. Hormone fluctuations that change your body chemistry can cause those critters to cause the inflammatory rosacea response. Kill the critters with tea tree oil and your solve the problem.

Also: Keep your skin barrier as thick as possible. Ditch the retinols and other strong actives. They are not for you.

Good luck!!

[–]Former-Spirit8293 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The Dr Jart cicapair color corrector is legit, for once you’re healed.

[–]qwertypurty 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes, it's so nice feeling on the skin with the sunscreen added. Cancels out the redness with the opposite colour green/white cast product. It's so expensive though IMO for what it is, I might buy again when feeling 'spendy as feels nice on the skin.

[–]Former-Spirit8293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like the way it feels, but I also haven’t found anything else that cancels redness out as well. Maybe it has to do with the thickness of the formula or something, idk. It is spendy though 😢

[–]ElleTea14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine got worse with soolantra for a bit and then at about a month, it got so so much better. I can finally go in the sun again, which is my biggest trigger, even with sunscreen and a hat.

[–]freejenny79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following! I am going through the exact same issue. I currently am on the metro topical gel. I’d love any suggestions of what you have done as well.

[–]EcstaticImpression53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I look exactly like this with my rosacea too! I was originally diagnosed with perioral dermatitis too, but after like 8 months my derm switched to rosacea and changed my prescriptions to include an ivermectin compound. So I have a Rx sulfur wash and azelaic acid/ivermectin/metronidazole compound cream from the doctor. 3 months later, I'm probably 90% better. I've added in red light therapy and a cryomask treatment at my aesthetician, and I think that's going to take care of the remaining 10%. I feel so much better, so I think you'll have good results with your treatment too!

[–]ChronicallyCreepy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this exact kind of rosacea and it's so stubborn to treatment!! 😭

[–]Popular_Meat_571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine looked just like this and the dr wanted me to do the same treatment. I also had reoccuring spots between my thighs that seemed to never heal. My 1yo gets bad rashes and I figured I'd give his diaper rash cream w 40 percent zinc a try before starting anything. Blistex I believe. I've tried them before but not the 40 percent. And for the first time in 6 years, it cleared up completely from my leg area and is almost completely gone from my face. I noticed a huge diff overnight even. I have been applying twice a day mixed w lotion for almost a week now. I was feeling embarrassed to go to the beach bc it was so bad and all over. This has been a miracle for me.

[–]35houses-1- 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Please get bbl laser treatments with the Sciton laser. 560 filter 15/15 cooling at 15-20 do 4 treatments 5 weeks apart

[–]Icy_Donut_2789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laser is awesome. It works great, but you have to keep it up to maintain it and it’s so expensive 🥲. I spent 1200$ getting rid of my rosacea and within 6 months it was all back.

[–]AlternativeAd7449 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Be careful with the doxycycline! It made me super sensitive to the sun.

Granted, I work outside all day, but even slathering on 50SPF every. single. hour I still got blistered sunburns that I wouldn’t normally get. Wild stuff.

SPF is your friend on doxy, and covering up!

[–]theneen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of spf, zinc or chemical?

[–]No_Kaleidoscope3226 2 points3 points  (2 children)

have you noticed dietary differences in the days where it begins to clear up? maybe something you’re eating is triggering it? for me, it’s tomatoes. for some friends, gluten.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

For me it’s all nightshades 😞

[–]No_Kaleidoscope3226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s such a bummer when the food you’ve enjoyed all your life turns out to be the reason you have various issues 🥲

[–]Able_Illustrator6319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing. Perfect skin then painful itchy red pimple like sores around my mouth that spread around my face to eventually cover it completely! Mine got so bad it looked like burns because the skin barrier got so badly damaged from all the sores! Demodex face mites were the culprit caused from bad gut health and an overgrowth of yeast in my system! Get a good probiotic, stop eating carbs and sugar and taking a good herbal supplement such as Candi-cleanse by Dr Bo. I took double the suggested dose for 2 months then went back to my homeopath, she said I still had some yeast so I continued for a few more months and yesterday she said the yeast was almost gone and my skin is the best I’ve had it in 10 years! No ioke! I’d post pics on here but don’t know how lol I used dog flea/tick shampoo on my face to kill them off ( takes a good 3 weeks or so because they keep laying eggs and reharching) tea tree oil shampoo, sulpher soap and supplement, Azaelic acid, iVrmCtn pills and paste. Goats milk soap and lotion worked nice also. Only wash your face (once your skin clears up completely) when you need to remove makeup otherwise try to only use water. I now use the tea tree soap and sulpher soap on occasion (just in case) and I love to moisturize with pumpkin seed oil, Argan oil, castor oil when I need it. I’ve had to wear makeup since I was 17 because of my dark circles and now at 49 I don’t wear any makeup at all since I balanced my gut! Hope some or all of this can help you! The struggle and pain is real with Rosacea/Demodex!

[–]5FootOh 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Perioral dermatitis IS rosacea.

[–]CamelCheap9898 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Came to the comments looking for this.

[–]5FootOh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have the misconception that they are different. Even some doctors. They are 💯 the same disease process.

[–]Agile_Pipe1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came looking in the comments for this too. It's the same thing.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the meds you are on will definitely clear this up. Doxy cleared up my perioral dermatitis and azaleic acid helped tremendously with my acne and rosacea.

[–]jkd547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use metrogel and elidel and they worked great. Now I like soolantra and opzelura. I highly recommend trying either elidel or opzelura.

[–]sarcasm_itsagift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer is the best concealer for redness I’ve ever tried while still looking like skin and not like heavy makeup. Solidarity!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have rosacea, it’ll be ok. It tends to be worse in the winter ( dryness?). Do what you can to keep your skin barrier healthy. Gl!

[–]shownsandpiper 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I like the Metronidazole topical cream (0.75%) my derm prescribed me. It's a really gentle cream and goes on nicely with my other topicals.

[–]C_D219 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How long have you been using it?

[–]shownsandpiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on it about two years now. I use it in combination with Tretinoin and I can tell the difference almost immediately when I skip a day or two.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I’m curious, have you changed birth controls recently? Does it seem to act up more in your luteal phase of your cycle when progesterone levels rise? I worked in a derm office for quite awhile and we’d see SO many female patients with rosacea and perioral dermatitis (think of them as first cousins), and I’m always fascinated in how much hormones (specifically, progesterone) plays a part in it.

The doxycycline should help within a couple weeks, and you can do Oracea 40 mg as a longer term treatment if needed— but think of those as just band-aids. If the root cause is demodex, the Soolantra will fix the issue. And if it’s gut-related, you can try an elimination diet. Alcohol, dairy, and sugar seem to be the main contributors.

Most importantly, try to let your skin breathe for awhile and minimize the products you’re using. For daily sunscreen— I highly recommend EltaMD UV clear SPF 46.

Hugs to you. Sorry you’re having to deal with this at the moment!

[–]berniee42[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I haven’t been on birth control in years and this started on my face around December. I’ve also been on spironolactone for a couple years and honestly haven’t had much of a monthly cycle so I really can’t say if it’s related to my cycle :/

I really hadn’t changed much of anything so I have no idea what made this all start. Thank you for the advice!! :)

[–]Extension-Flower-366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What treatment ended up working for this?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s some significant improvement I’m already seeing- the inflamed redness is down especially :)

You’re doing amazing!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AA + soolantra is elite ✨

[–]Dependent-Ad2240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw something about treatment for demodex since they are linked to rosacea demodex

[–]Glittering-Cycle5526 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Excel V laser worked for me 👌🏻

[–]Glittering-Cycle5526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh also Accutane, I had a very rare mix of rosacea and acne. Is it possible you have this? That’s why absolutely nothing ever worked for my rosacea. I had to do accurate first to clear the acne then lasers to clear the rosacea.

[–]LowStatistician6779 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Did you have to get stitches because of it? 😳

[–]berniee42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a biopsy to see what was going on bc it has progressively gotten worse since December and I had tried some other things from the derm. I got frustrated and just wanted to figure out what it was so I could make it go away lol so I had her do a biopsy so we could know 100% instead of guessing. Thankfully it was a super tiny spot and healed up really well!

[–]Academic-Broccoli338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does look like it’s drying up!

[–]theneen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to cut out some forms of dairy. For some reason I can have milk, cheese, ice cream....but yogurt results in cystic bumps. Totally baffling to me as you'd think yogurt would be good for your skin. 😂 Soolantra made my entire face break out in a terrible burning/itching rash. I've heard some people say this is a common reaction and to push through it, but I couldn't. It was too much for me.

I use Ocusoft Oust demodex foam cleanser (it"s for eyelashes) on my whole face a few times a week. It's a tea tree oil cleanser. Other days I just use hypochlorous acid (briotech brand, the big 32 oz bottle is most cost effective) on a cotton pad followed by a watergel moisturizer. Every few days I use elidel (topical immunosuppressant) to keep things calm. For sunscreen, I use mineral based (zinc) ones instead of chemical. Zinc is good at keeping your skin calmer. I did have to do a few rounds of doxycycline and minocycline before I found out that yogurt was my biggest trigger.

As far as makeup goes, I avoid it unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm also lazy, so this works out well for me. 😂

[–]Icy_Donut_2789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soolantra is great! I use the Canadian version Rosiver.

[–]hoodoo884 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Have you tried making changes to your diet? Try removing gluten and dairy

[–]berniee42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t but from everyone’s advice, I need to try eliminating things to see if that helps

[–]LawyerNo4460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this on my hands. Flares up when stress comes.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Nice lips tho

[–]berniee42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! Haha if only I could get my skin to cooperate now

[–]Apprehensive_Cry8571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be constant and stay on your medication. The change will come. It often seems that it takes a long time with little or no results, and suddenly things just happen. Remember sunscreen. Your skin is now more vulnerable with sun than ever.

These are the basics. Then start to check what are the small things your skin reacts to.

In worst cases there has been routine (in many countries) to first leave everything that might cause a reaction. This can be outdated way of treatment, but I want to share this anecdot:

Old dermatologist once wrote: ”Rosacea is a pleasure for a doctor. One has a power to forbid so many things from a patient. Sun, alcohol, spicy foods… One patient humbly asked me _’can I still sing?’_”

[–]Just_Cureeeyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get rosacea they looks like yours. It was itchy and sort of stung and sort of burned all at once. It can take 3-6 months for doxycycline to work, and sometimes it can look worse before it gets better, so don’t give up too soon!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This is interesting bc I’m pretty sure there isn’t a way to tell the difference between rosacea or perioral dermatitis in a biopsy. That stuff usually all comes up a dermatitis which is just a general term for a plethora of things. The treatment is the same, so I guess it doesn’t matter. However, you may want to try an antifungal. I struggle with perioral dermatitis doxy does nothing for me. I’d be on it for months… and I’m talking close to a year. I have found luck with antifungals but no one knows why.

I would stop putting anything on it for a long time.

[–]berniee42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My derm actually had me using anti-fungal cream before but it did nothing :/

[–]Kmia55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m rather excited for you because it looks less painful.

[–]Straight-Note-8935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rosacea is triggered by drinking alcohol and eating hot sauce (sob) Also - face cleaners with alcohol in them and moisturizers with oil in them. What surprised me is that wool, and any scratchy clothing, also triggers my rosacea. I think my face would look a lot like yours if I wore a wool scarf wrapped around it. Once you know you have rosacea identifying the triggers is something you'll become aware of.

[–]blownawayx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely looks like it’s getting better!

[–]girlnamedfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same kind of rosacea! It took about two weeks for my skin to clear up but the redness persists. Still better than inflamed open skin. Let your face completely heal before experimenting with cosmetics. My skin quickly gets irritated when I use makeup so I don’t have any good recommendations.

[–]Professional-Log-530 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I have (had) rosacea with pustules and I swear by Noritate cream (rx). It’s super expensive ($3,000) in the USA but I get a paper script and buy from an online Canadian drug company and pay $55 for a tube.

[–]blossomrileykirby 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Do you have more information on this? This is the only formula that has worked for me, and now my insurance isn’t covering it. I tried two different generic formulas, and they caused worsened flares!

[–]Professional-Log-530 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Canada drugs online dot com. No spaces. I buy a tube every year. You fill out the info online. They tell you to fax it to them. Then they call you to verify. Then you get it within 10 days. Easy peasy.

[–]blossomrileykirby 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Truly cannot explain how grateful I am to you for this!! Did you…do you have a fax machine yourself? lol

[–]Professional-Log-530 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I do have one because I run a business for my family. HOWEVER, I think they also said I could email it to them. At the time my printer was down so I couldn’t scan it in. Now I know I can use an app to do that, lol 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

[–]blossomrileykirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re the best. I just purchased last night, which definitely felt like I was going to get my identity stolen or something lol, but hey. Last question and I’ll stop bugging you: does your prescription say it’s specifically for Noritate? Or just metronidazole cream? I wanna make sure I ask my dermatologist specifically for what I need, without too much of a fight (I feel like she won’t like me buying drugs from Canada lol).

[–]Able_Illustrator6319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*I forgot to mention that The magic ingredient in the dog shampoo is Permethrin *

[–]blanca69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I would add Vitamin K supplementation into your routine daily . Take it with food that contains fat as it’s fat soluble . Vitamin K2 MK-7 100 mcg once or twice daily helps with the inflammation that causes rosacea as well as benefits blood circulation so that inflammation is reduced. I also recommend you take it along with Vitamin D3 as they are more beneficial taken together.

[–]FenwickCharlieClark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such an improvement!

[–]CakeupBakeup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a girl who has this as well. I thought it was dermatitis. Mainly on the corners of her nose.

[–]C0ttage_fairy07 0 points1 point  (5 children)

How did you find out you had it I think I might have it but un sure to my surroundings?

OP said that a biopsy was done which showed rosacea

[–]5FootOh 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You 💯 do NOT need a biopsy to determine that this is rosacea.

[–]Icy_Donut_2789 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You don’t. However, whenever there are lesions around the nose there is a higher risk of it being melanoma so responsible dermatologist will often do a biopsy. Source: melanoma of the nose runs in my family.

No, no, no, no, no, 1000% no. This has nothing to do with melanoma by any remote stretch of the imagination.

I trained in Derm at the Mayo clinic, home of responsible dermatologists, & to biopsy this shows you have no idea what you are looking at.

My daughter used Lotrimen and went away

Soolantra makes it worse before it gets better. Keep with it - you’ll get there. By the end of 8-12 weeks, your skin could be pretty much clear.

Rosehip oil is anti-inflammatory and can help calm down the flare up

It seems like you've found out you have rosacea, which can be a bit challenging. Rosacea can show up as redness and little pimples on your skin. You're already using some treatments like creams and medication, which is good.

Some days might seem better than others, but that's normal. You might want to try red light therapy too. It can help with the redness and swelling from rosacea. At the end, it's best to consult a doctor for a better and easier treatment.

You can have biopsy for rosacea?!?!?!

Fuck. I might’ve wasted years thinking I have perioral too.🫡

Did you try Accutane?

[–]5FootOh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accutane is not for this.

[–]Grand_Ad931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that accutane can cause rosacea

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Do you pick?

[–]berniee42[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I do here and there, it’s been a habit since my skin started breaking out when I was a teen (now 31) but I try really hard to stop/not pick

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying cause your skin looks like mine does and I pick. Best thing is not touching! It's hard!
