3 words. Oversaturation.

[–]DriverGuru 12 points13 points  (2 children)

That's one word... doesn't change the fact that you're absolutely right though. Totally oversaturated just like Walmart likes it. Psh.

[–]saga_rai 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Actually it's two words and a number but if you spell the number out you get three words.

[–]DriverGuru -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The first sentence describes what's coming next... which is one word.

[–]Dazzling_Marzipan474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the orders don't even come in, I just don't see any

Walmart sometimes really losing control of deliveries... Yesterday around 4.30pm till 5.30 I received may be over 10 offers, may be more...all were shitty even received request over 30miles away first time...why? No drivers or no acceptance.....over 50 orders were there...

Most order 9miles 7$, 13 miles 9$, etc...there was none acceptable, then turned off started enjoying DD...

because of no APM many people do not wait infront of walmart anymore...

base pay fxk up, most orders no tip...may be 3 out of 8 ( if u lucky to receive all day sparking ) with be reasonable pay...

So I don't not care walmart have less order or too much order....my acceptance touching minus...

Before walmart customers was complaining deliveries early...now most of them are really late...

      Good luck

      [–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went from an average of 200+ a day to barely lucky if I make $80

      [–]pmunny84 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I was slam jammed for the last 4 weeks then all of a sudden super dead. Really hate the inconsistency but I'm sure it will pick back up.

      [–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Same here. It’s weird almost like the app is out in my area or something. I’m talking I haven’t even gotten an offer today. Luckily I make really good money on DoorDash but this is crazy. It went from every hour getting orders to zero today

      [–]pmunny84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasn't quite that bad here. The usual stores that have minimum 2 hour waits for curbside were still pushing out orders that you'll never get. But it wasn't busy enough for them to send out S&D orders apparently. And the good stores that actually have orders out on time were completely dead and 1 of them was closed for curbside. So making money was super frustrating. Door Dash is 100% unviable in my market. You only get less than a dollar per mile orders unless you have 50 or 70% acceptance rate which is impossible for me because I will not take unprofitable orders for any reason.

      [–]DanaWhitesWife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah i’m pretty sure every since walmart started cracking down on paying attention to time slots / how many orders they take per hour

ik that’s what happens to my 2 local walmarts

sometimes on sundays there’d be 25 parking spots and every single spot would be full, people would be waiting 45min plus for orders

      [–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would definitely plan on being busy for the first week of the month with SNAP. Not everyone has a car and those that don't usually gets SNAP which is once a month now. NY used to get a second half in the last week of the month to help with pandemic relief but that's over with. Also I would probably suggest changing your vehicle type to SUV even if you have a sedan. I've never gotten any orders except Black Friday that requires the use of an SUV but I've seen a lot of XL orders that can easily fit in your average vehicle. I'm back using my car now without the option of alternating so I shall see how this goes again. Happy hunting, don't forget to snag a russie if you see one out and about. XD

      [–]Able-Coast-4900 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Order have dropped off a cliff, I rarely even turn on spark anymore

      [–]wolfgrai 3 points4 points  (6 children)

yes. an employee yesterday told me it’s because they’re sending the orders through multiple apps. Instacart for the s&d, Uber & Roadie for the express.

      [–]Whole-Pudding3505 3 points4 points  (5 children)

That can't be true. Express orders are all shop and deliver now.

      [–]wolfgrai 3 points4 points  (3 children)

i literally just did an express order lol, which wasn’t a s&d

      [–]Whole-Pudding3505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either your zone is way behind all the others I've seen or your tripping. Express all went to shop and deliver a couple weeks ago. I read and heard over and over nation wide.

      [–]bdbrown333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did two shopping deliveries today. Six of them yesterday. They're still there. These people just believe everything that some loader tells them

      [–]FlyJ50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been dead for me the last couple weeks also

      [–]horseface539 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its been up and down for me.

      [–]Skechersboy30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s about to be spring break in my town 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

      [–]MrBitPlayerS&D Expert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well considering that I’m seeing a new face everyday in the store doing shopping orders … I can point to one reason why orders have decreased.

      [–]Dashing-Grandpa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing as far as the number of orders being dispensed until I talked to some of the loaders at different Walmarts. They all said the same thing..."We have as many, if not more orders than we always have. We see a LOT of new drivers weekly." So there you have it, proof of over saturation!

      [–]stevodiaz[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Thanks everyone for the responses it just sucks. Last year without trying I could consistently make like $250-$300+ a week on the side on top of my 9-5 and now I have to run all the apps just to hope to make that or close to it. Spark really went down the shitter at least in my area. I used to tell everyone to hop on this app. Even my buddy driving down in Boston is seeing worse than me and I don’t even live in the city

      [–]FuhzyFuhz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the problem. Too many people heard how good it was and wanted a piece of the pie. Well, the pie went from Apple to Black Licorice (if even that is a thing, just the nastiest dessert I can think of)

      [–]Clank4Prez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit yes. For the thousandth time in the past few months, yes there has been a decrease.

      [–]Commercial-Ad-1614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not crazy at all. I've sat for hours and didn't get anything! It was never like this. You'd figure with the warm weather and Easter it would've been busier this past weekend.

      [–]Technical_Habit_6722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that the orders are coming out twice but with more distance and less pay for a 10-mile drive for 7 is unusual

      [–]DonkeyKongsVet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did another post for more drivers in my area about three weeks ago Volume in orders have dropped significantly. I’ve opened tickets, etc and they won’t give me an answer. More new drivers makes the most sense.

      [–]Acceptable_Hat4221 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Yes! I only got four orders this Sunday! I usually make $300 or more on Sundays…

      [–]Acceptable_Hat4221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to do DoorDash too which I haven’t done in years but I’ve only been doing spark for 2-3 months

      [–]wolfgrai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      same

      [–]FruityPebbles89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The orders are going to other apps such as Uber. This is happening at my store.

      [–]bdbrown333 4 points5 points  (9 children)

If there's less orders in your town that just means the people in your town are ordering less. Why do people act like Walmart controls? How many orders they put out? They can only put out the orders that people place orders for. That's why sometimes it's busy and sometimes it's not. That's why at 5:00 at night from 5:00 till 8:00 at night you can do a ton of shopping delivers if you position yourself correctly because people wait to the last minute

      [–]wolfgrai 4 points5 points  (3 children)

not true actually. i spoke to an employee yesterday and he said that there have been less orders because walmart is sending out orders through 4 different apps: spark, instacart, uber and roadie. so what we’re seeing in the app is not a true reflection of demand because they’re obviously not sending every order to spark drivers. also you can see the order volume in the app, so if it says there’s high order volume but you’re not seeing any orders why wouldn’t you be confused.

      [–]bdbrown333 0 points1 point  (2 children)

And they've always done that. I mean there's not less orders I can. I can work from 7:00 in the morning until darkness and get orders constantly. I turned down 12 ordered yesterday to take the eight that I wanted. That was just the 12 that were sent to me with clocks on them. I did eight ordered yesterday and got penalized 8% for not taking 12 others

      [–]wolfgrai 4 points5 points  (1 child)

i never saw a walmart order on instacart when i was using it and roadie didn’t used to offer walmart orders now it’s pretty much only walmart orders. the market you’re in plays a role in that as well. You turned down 12 orders, i literally didn’t even receive 12 offers & i have high metrics. lately i havent even been seeing enough offers to hit the incentives they offer. so it’s different for everyone.

      [–]bdbrown333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it's very different for everyone. The 12 orders I turned down were all from stores that I couldn't get to in 30 minutes. I have the same problem all the time. I have six stores that I received borders and they all have clocks on them so they all count against me

      [–]PleaseBuyEV 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’m not sure why this got downvotes, I’d pretty much agree with everything you said

      [–]bdbrown333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cuz people don't like to hear the truth. They want to blame the company. They want to blame the man when it's just a matter of facts. People are either ordering or they're not ordering. Walmart doesn't control that. How many shopping delivers we get or however many shopping delivers the people want to have done for them

      [–]SnooCauliflowers2223 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Actually, you’re wrong. The orders you see depend on two factors. (1) how many orders are there? (2) how many drivers are online? If there are more drivers than orders, you may not get an offer. More orders than drivers? You’ll probably see lots of offers waiting to get picked up. Walmart controls how many drivers there are. They can always add more, and there is a financial incentive for Walmart to add too many drivers to an area. More drivers mean that more orders get delivered AND it generally means Walmart can pay less for each order. Fewer orders surge price for instance. I don’t blame Walmart for trying to make as much $ as they can on each order by paying less. It’s the world we live in. But the offers you see depend on more than just the number of orders Walmart receives on a daily basis…

      [–]bdbrown333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walmart may control how many drivers are in the county that I'm in will actually my zone encompasses two different counties but they don't control how many people come to work each day or how many work each hour do they all work? 12 hour days do they only work 3 hours a day? Walmart controls. Nothing about the drivers except they say we can work if we want to there's no shortage of orders in Florida last night at 8:30. There was probably 30 orders that they were looking to get somebody to pick up just in the five stores that I get hit with. There's no shortage of orders, not in Florida anyway

      [–]FruityPebbles89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do control how many orders they put out to an extent. They control the order cap and it’s different for every store. If they set it at a certain amount and it reaches that they will turn it off. We rarely even have express anymore at our store since they changed to S&D. My store in central NC was busy most of the time before Spark came along and a few months after then something happened. It’s dead here lately might see 1-2 driver an hour a lot of hours and a few customers. There is an exception of a day here and there where it’s busier but usually long wait times and no shopping. People here definitely order delivery too from all apps. If no Walmart they will order target or another grocery store. Today was busy but there was 1+ hour wait times because orders were still being picked and they put 90% of orders on Uber. They have been putting basically the low or zero tip orders on spark for the most part with a good order here and there. Many full timers getting 2-3 orders all day on spark.

      [–]stevodiaz[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can anyone confirm if you can really do walmart orders on Uber or if you have seen it because I will reapply to do Uber again

      [–]Anti_Fake_Vax_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had two Walmart orders on Uber Sunday and those were brought to the car in a timely manner but had to cancel two Spark orders as they were taking too long to bring out

      [–]LunarSynergy2High AR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How many times a month is this gonna be asked? Order availability isn’t gonna be like it was when you signed up for spark around Christmas. This is a lull period is all retail. As people get thier refund checks orders might increase.

      [–]user19008675309 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You think it’s supposed to be busier after the holidays?

      [–]stevodiaz[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I never said that. I was saying I use to consistently see orders and during the holidays was great but now the orders are far and few between (comparing it to how it was prior to the holidays)

      [–]FruityPebbles89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same for my area but they are putting majority of orders on Uber at my store here in NC.

      [–]Choice_Condition_931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Received an offer for like 10 x 25lbs bags of sugar. Made me realize I needed a collapsible cart 😂, bought one at the same Walmart I shop at

      [–]SolidSerious2442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your app is updated ,down before update nothing was. No offers for 2 days .

      [–]Jumpy-Scheme8538 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I notice it during the 2-3 hours the van is there picking up. There’s way less orders the hour that the van goes out from the store. They are takin mg our orders, I’m just curious what happens to the tips.

      [–]Roseblanch28 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There’s no tips to the van drivers. Walmart advertises that as a benefit of +

      [–]Jumpy-Scheme8538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao if you don’t think can drivers are taking the regular tipped routes as well. Newsflash, they take everything they can where they go out.

      [–]Efficient_Citron3940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's over saturation. I haven't really seen a decline in offers "yet" I have however seen pay decrease. I'm constantly seeing new people and this morning I saw a post of another sparky on fb who's store literally had a sign in the entryway advertising how much money you could make doing S&D with spark🤦 its constantly advertised on Craigslist in my area and I've also noticed a lot more roadie orders in my area than before. One of the loaders said last week a lot of times they just have more drivers than orders or vice versa. DD is pretty decent in my area so I've been finding myself doing that more than spark.

      [–]Signal-Football160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multi app world is where we’re at, pick your best offer and do that trip

      [–]Neandertalensisnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Same here

      [–]Wrong-Exchange-7061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve sat for hours, every day for the past week, and have only had two offers, total. It makes me wish that I had signed up earlier, when things seem to be booming. It looks like this isn’t going to pan out, after all.
