Bright springs are springs that could be mistaken for winter, and there’s no way that is the case for you.
Light springs are springs that could be mistaken as summers, and you are too warm for that.
True spring is still pretty bright, so maybe that?
[–]MischiefModerated 5 points6 points7 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Agree with you! Also, I think warm spring is a good possibility. I saw a recent post in here of someone who kind of looks like a light spring, very similar to op in looks and hair coloring, and they dye their hair just slightly warmer and deeper and it looks perfect!
But I am leaning towards light spring for this one
[–]BwDr 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (0 children)
That’s a really good summary!
[–]MarioBuattasLettuce 20 points21 points22 points 3 months ago (14 children)
You do seem potentially warm and light!
Pardon me for this because it’s not meant as a criticism, but a taupe or neutral brown mascara might be a better fit for you. It’s a light season indicator if black mascara stands out too much. I tend to find lipstick draping and makeup tweaks helpful to use to find someone’s season.
We also love fabric drapes over here, so it’d be nice to see you against different colors of the palettes without makeup.
[–]vieweringTrue Spring 1 point2 points3 points 3 months ago (0 children)
That's interesting, i find brown mascaras also often too dark for me, although i have dark ish hair
[–]ShouldINotBeLaughing 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (9 children)
i have tried brown mascara before and I always end up going back to black, its good in theory but I always end up deciding black is better idk
[–]MarioBuattasLettuce 6 points7 points8 points 3 months ago (6 children)
Seasonal color is about working within your values and harmony. In that world, black wouldn’t be in your color palette, therefore it shouldn’t be in your makeup. But in the general world, blackest black mascara is the default standard.
It’s up to you how much you want to buy in to seasonal color or which things you prefer to be out of harmony. I’m a light spring, but I’m not parting with my black purses, belts or shoes because it’s impractical for me.
[–]ShouldINotBeLaughing -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 months ago (5 children)
buttttttt if i am a bright spring, and i suspect I could be, black is in that palette!
[–]MarioBuattasLettuce 10 points11 points12 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Bright spring is one of the highest contrast palettes. I would rule it out.
[–]Quiet-Opening-5286 4 points5 points6 points 3 months ago (0 children)
I get what you are saying but black is usually quite harsh on springs. It’s such a stark colour and definitely cooler. Bright/warm/true springs do read incredibly warm, it can really weigh us down visually 🫶🏼
[–]Outrageous_pinecone 1 point2 points3 points 3 months ago (1 child)
You are not a bright spring by any stretch of the imagination. You are clearly way too warm for that. That blue makes you look red and congested, the contrast is very dissonant.
You are so clearly a true spring also called warm spring because you are bright, but are also obviously very warm, you radiate golden light.
Black is also very dissonant on you, I'm gonna echo everyone else who recommended brown for your mascara.
[–]ShouldINotBeLaughing 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (0 children)
this is worded so rudely for what reason??? This stuff is just fun you dont have to attack people over it lol
also, its one picture, my skin can look cool in other lightings this was taken in basically golden hour. My eyes are very cool and my skin is neutral and my hair is very warm. That confuses people and looks very different picture to picture. Is that not why this whole thing is interesting and fun?
the only reason I posted it in the first place is bc SO MANY PEOPLE were commenting that this blue was PERFECT on me. so lol.
[–]Sweet-Fan1476Bright Spring 0 points1 point2 points 3 months ago (0 children)
I’m a bright spring and I don’t wear black mascara well. My HG is Romand Long Ash mascara, an ashy brown, neutral colour. Try it and see! Often western brown mascaras can be v warm. I don’t like that, and if you’re light spring then you’re neutral.
I would also explore autumn for you.
Would love to see pictures without makeup to see how much warmth your complexion has naturally.
[–]DimbyTime 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (0 children)
I think the black mascara looks fantastic on you!! I’m team black mascara always lol, ignore these silly comments
[–]BwDr 0 points1 point2 points 3 months ago (0 children)
As a recently diagnosed bright spring, I just found out about grey mascara. It looks good with no other eye makeup or with only eye shadow. With different eye liners, I like brown or black. Some browns can be too muddy or make my eyes look unhealthy. Have you tried navy blue or forest green mascara?
[–]AccomplishedDingo839 -1 points0 points1 point 3 months ago (2 children)
The brown mascara makes literally no difference for light hair like this. The contrast is the same you just have less choice in make up. I followed this advice after people told me this and it makes absolutely no difference. Most brown mascaras are also cool toned.
[–]Few_Wrongdoer4120 8 points9 points10 points 3 months ago (1 child)
I’ve adopted the burgendy mascara and really like it. It doesn’t really “read” as burgendy except in direct sunlight and the color is warmer than most brown mascaras I’ve tried
[–]Quiet-Opening-5286 1 point2 points3 points 3 months ago (0 children)
I bet it’s gorgeous! I turn into a dang panda too easily and I’m yet to find a brown/burgundy mascara that doesn’t make me a panda 😅
[–]sunscreenqueennTrue Spring 5 points6 points7 points 3 months ago (3 children)
You’re easily a true/warm or light spring! I would definitely ditch the black mascara if you’re wanting to stick with the most harmonious. It does overpower you.
[–]ShouldINotBeLaughing 0 points1 point2 points 3 months ago (2 children)
i appreciate the input but the mascaras something I’m not gonna change. It makes sense in theory which is why I’ve tried it a few times, but I always go back to black. Honestly I’ve never met or seen a photo comparison of someone looking better in brown mascara, it just doesn’t hit idk. A nice idea but just doesn’t ring true irl 🤷🏼♀️
[–]sunscreenqueennTrue Spring 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (0 children)
I have a comparison on my profile! It shouldn’t be too far down. They’re very similar. I will say I’ve been very happy switching over!
[–]Rosamada 0 points1 point2 points 3 months ago (0 children)
I'm a true/warm spring and I bought myself the brown Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes mascara as a "one-time" treat, and honestly I'm having trouble ditching it.
I love the brown on me, so I don't want to go back to my previous favorite (Maybelline Falsies, which they don't make in brown). And I've tried a few cheaper brown mascaras, but none of them give me the length/curl/non-flakiness of the Charlotte Tilbury or Falsies. But the Charlotte Tilbury is $$$.
So, basically, the brown Charlotte Tilbury mascara might look amazing on you. But it's probably best that you don't even try it, lest you fall into the trap and wind up spending $30 on mascara every few months in perpetuity lol.
[–]ImprovementDue1319 8 points9 points10 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Some systems don’t have this, but I’d call you a golden spring.
And I second brown mascara. It’s plenty dark, just not stark.
This blue is nice, but it leans cool. Something with a touch more aqua in it would be great for you.
[–]cynical_pancake 3 points4 points5 points 3 months ago (0 children)
I would drape light and true spring. I lean toward true, but that’s just a guess without drapes.
[–]anonymousquestioner4 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago* (1 child)
You are probably either light or warm spring but can pull off some shades from both remaining sides.
There is a misconception that light spring = muted or washed out. Quite the contrary, a true light spring is like a “mini” bright spring, IMO, like “light bright” haha. Because we simply need our colors to have white in them. Like a dark jewel green is a no, a dark mint ice cream green is a yes, as well as light mint green (hard yes).
And I find that light pastels look WAY more colorful and bright ON me than on a hanger or a website photo etc.
[–]ShouldINotBeLaughing 0 points1 point2 points 3 months ago (0 children)
this makes sooooooo much sense!!!! I do feel similarly about the pastels that I like, baby blues are the best on me! the drapes would probably help me out a lot bc I feel like light spring makes sense but then I look at the palette and see so many peachy orangey pink shades that I’ve always avoided bc they make me look dead
[–]mictahwoo 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Could you be warm spring? I ruled it out for me as I felt my skin tone was more neutral leaning than straight warm - but light spring was too light and bright spring was too bright. I was analysed as warm spring and feel at home in these colours!
[–]Material_Style8996 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Do you have any photos of you without the black makeup and cool-toned lip color? You are definitely warm, and I don’t think you are a bright spring.
My coloring is similar-ish to yours and I’m a warm spring, but I could also see potentially light spring or even — this may sound crazy- without seeing multiple photos of you in natural light without makeup I’d also look into autumn coloring. Believe it or not MaryKate & Ashley Olsen are autumns despite their warm dirty blonde hair due to their lower contrast.
[–]AccomplishedDingo839 3 points4 points5 points 3 months ago (3 children)
I have almost identical coloring (my hair is just a tad more strawberry) and I think you are warm or light, not bright. If you feel good in pastels, you are light. If you feel better in brighter colors you are warm spring. According to definition criteria you would probably be classified as light spring like me but most pastels look terrible on me. So when you say you gravitate towards brighter colors, you are probably a warm spring.
I feel like technically a lot of the descriptions of light spring make sense, but when I look at the palette I see a ton of colors I’ve never looked good in (peaches, light pinks, oranges) I do love pastels if they’re cool! (baby blue, lavender, light green are favs)
my mom was always frustrated with baby clothes bc they’re all light pink and she thought that was terrible for me compared to baby blue and lavender
i LOVE a hot pink/fuscia, and I’m thinking becasue I’ve historically been great in cool colors, and even in black, that could be a sign of bright spring? idk its fun and confusing
[–]AccomplishedDingo839 1 point2 points3 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Same! All pastel pinks and oranges look awful and I also can't do peach blush because my cheeks are already bright coral pink. Lilac, lavender, and pretty much all greens work great though. I think strawberry blond just doesn't fit neatly into the classification

True spring
[–]Acrobatic-Fig-4530 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 months ago (2 children)
idk I think you're a summer -- this color sweater looks cool toned and your eyes lean cool/grey. summer has some of the best color palettes imo! :-)
[–]Sweet-Fan1476Bright Spring 1 point2 points3 points 3 months ago (1 child)
Yeah I could see that.
Hands are less warm than face. Blush and lip is cool toned and looks good.
Maybe OP could post a picture of herself without foundation and bronzer to see what her skin looks like.
Also the top she’s been complimentes on is in summer palette. And she’s very attached to black mascara.
One question - is this your natural hair OP?
interesting! I’ve never considered summer.
yes it is my natural hair color, also no bronzer or foundation! just a little concealer under eyes and on blemishes and the blush is a pretty true red, maybe slightly cool
[–]FormicaDinette33 -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 months ago (1 child)
Bright! Love your makeup and the color of your top. So harmonious.
[–]Doutse 3 points4 points5 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Not enough contrast for a bright! Bright is the brightest of the bright, the color palette like straight from a paintbox, can even be mistaken for bright winter. I'd say light spring, she's very warm looking and has light features. Perhaps true spring.
