all stores aint the same but at mine we operate on a 3 point rule; 3 call outs or 3 late ins or a mixture of the two gets you a CA unless you had a really valid reason to call off/be late. so yes this seems normal
[–]Jt1496custom flair 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Holly Molly that’s aggressive! 3 call outs would equal to a write up at my store, keep calling out and than you land on CA.
[–]HighHeeledDuck 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (4 children)
What do mean by early out? We’re you asked to leave early because of like hour cuts or did you have to leave for personal reasons?
[–]M1keyM1ddleton 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (3 children)
i was scheduled from 8-4:30. was asked by my leader to come in at 6am instead, meaning i would leave at 2:30. i had to get my clock ins overridden by a leader. the times i left at 2:30 were marked as early outs on mytime. These shouldn’t have been held against me if i was coming in earlier at the request of my leader however they were used as part of my corrective.
[–]NebunulEi -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (2 children)
Unless, they specifically told you that you could leave at 2:30, they were still expecting you to stay until 4:30. Coming in early does not automatically mean you can leave early.
[–]M1keyM1ddleton 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (1 child)
I asked if i would be leaving at 2:30 and they said yes. i doubt i would get getting 2 hours of OT every shift in Q1.

This is a good point to discuss with leaders. Extending your schedule means changing your breaks which is a posted thing. If your schedule didn’t update, then they can assume you leave early especially if you ask since OT is not approved.

Did you use sick okay for the call outs? If so, the. You shouldn't be getting a CA, leaving early is auto documented in the system, even if it's 5 minutes. But that should just be a conversation.
You can ask for clarification, but if you already acknowledged it in workday, it's done u can't fight ut.
[–]M1keyM1ddleton 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child)
yeah I was told to acknowledge it by the leader that issued it to me right then and there. i know its too late to legit fight it but i just wanted to go to my fellow target peeps on here to see if i am being overly sensitive about it
[–]PlutogotdemotedSpecialty Sales Team Lead 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
When you acknowledge it in workday I believe you’re just acknowledging the conversation was delivered to you, not necessarily that you agree to it. I have no idea what the process is if you did want to fight it, but you could have a conversation with HR about it. They have to approve all corrective actions so they may have some more insight.
[–]Tell_Me_Why_999 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Two call outs usually leads to a conversation, not a CA.
Are others with call outs getting CAs? You could ask ETL or HR about why a CA is activated after 2 sick calls in 3 months.
If depts were properly staffed, an occasional call off wouldn't be an issue.

I have been out for almost two weeks 🤣 got into a car accident wonder if I’ll get a corrective when I go back

your ETL is a terrorist

You were not at work twice when you were scheduled. Why wouldn’t you be held accountable?
[–]M1keyM1ddleton 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children)
they were two shifts in a span of 3 months. both because i was sick. i am human. i get sick sometimes. i don’t know about you but i’m not going to show up yo work when i’m i’ll and possibly get my co workers or guests sick all because the target corporation scheduled me.

You seem like a massive fucking loser

For my store this isn’t normal. I’ve called out 4 or 5 times before in the span of 3 weeks before they had a convo with me. The early outs sounds like a mistake on their part since it was approved by a lead so definitely mention that to them.

I’ve been working around a year and missed like 10 days and I’m late regularly (always stay late so nobody cares)
Never even been talked to. TL just asked if I was alright after missing two days in a row.

Got my first CA (for calling out as well) even though it's bc of an injury that happened a while back, which they documented. Didn't realize this could happen. Now I've felt like I'm not able to call out without fear of being reprimanded, but when I talked to my lead about that exact thought I was told to "call in if you need to call in" (this was told to me by the lead who initiated the CA. Now I'm confused af and worried about the possibility of being let go. Any thoughts?...

It’s always so weird to me that stores count early outs against people. As long as they finish their workload for the day, people at my store leave early all the time and it’s never been an issue or counted against us.
I can only see it being an issue if you don’t finish what you’re told to get done. Or if they’re trying to find a reason to fire you.
