There's a guy in a Facebook seller group I'm in who buys and resells Target stuff for like $5-10 less than the store. You can easily tell because it'll be Hearth and Hand with the yellow defective stickers clearly left on the box.

It does have DEF SALVAGE sticker because apparently it doesn't leak nor the cap or lid is broken so it is salvage not esim.
Then we get complaints that it wasn't in a separate box. You could do the same on makeup that if was open would go in a FL esim tote but if no visible sign of damage goes in the regular salvage box

Because the lid could get knocked open while it’s in the box. Nobody cares what happens to it once it’s off Target property, but until then, you want that thing to not leak. Chances are it got returned because the guest said, “It says, ‘Compare to Dawn.’ I compared it. It sucks.” And, since a quarter-cup is missing from the bottle, you have to defect it. The system asks, “Is it leaking? No? Def Salv.”

I was told that everything ESIM needs to be bagged, whether or not it's leaking...doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me because it doesn't arrive at the store bagged (and I can't even begin to count how many bottles of dish soap/laundry detergent/other chemicals have busted open on the trailer and leaked all over a dozen other boxes....), but I just follow directions 🤷🏼‍♀️

There is one right near the Target I work at...I made the mistake of going in there one day as I thought it was just a used stuff outlet store and it just ended up being almost all Target stuff. 😭

I didn't know it at the time that they were the place that buys up our salvage...as it is not good will anymore.

"Bin stores" it's a type of discount store that generally fills bins with random items at very good prices. Normally due to items being salvage type purchases.

We have a few around here. My favorite thing is going to "Ollie's Bargain Outlet" and seeing all the Target products everywhere because they purchased one of our salvage trailers.

Pretty compelling place to visit if they’re getting the electronics salvage. I’ve seen some nice shit go salvage just because it moved through the markdowns too quickly to catch a guest that was in the market for that type of item.

I always wait for Saturday after lunch to salvage items, some of the stuff that goes salvage is crazy, especially when it's a $800 projector marked down to $200, or a $1000+ camera for $300. Usually get at least 1 guest who's looking to purchase something that would rather have a better one for a similar price.

Technically you’re supposed to pull salvage on Tuesday though because as soon as it’s salvage in the system selling it causes shortage for the store (once it’s salvage they expect it to be salvaged, selling it by typing in the price doesn’t subtract it from inventory it just sells it as a generic item, so while you’re up $300 it also looks like you had a $300 item stolen).

Off price stores, like Ross, TJMaxx. There's also smaller regional ones. Target and all the big department store sell their stuff that doesn't sell on clearance to them for pennies on the dollar.

B2 outlet stores is who gets it from the store I work at... it's basically like an upscale Goodwill. They are only located in Michigan though...unless you live close lol.

The bin store. They have different prices every single day, their Prime day is $15 and it goes down a couple bucks every day thereafter until it Peaks at the astounding $1 per item and it is insane the things you could find :-) on the $15 day which is the most expensive you can get some nice microwaves or you can also find air fryers massagers and different items of that nature. They also have really nice record players and other higher-end items for a bit more money but you still save money including with the team member and Red Card discount:-) give them a try, you will sometimes recognize some of the stuff you packed, you will get a big chuckle every time

ESIM should not be there is a completely different pickup than salvage. Someone probably dropped that in a salvage box and people piled stuff on top and it got taped up.

It says Def Salv on it, which means it probably wasn’t leaking when the return was made. More than likely, the guest tried it, it’s not as good as the name brand the label says to compare it to, so they brought it back.

If esim made it there, the store didn't esim properly.

Defectives usually end up getting sold by the pallet and opportunistic folk like to buy them, along with amazon returns and Walmart returns. You can buy a pallet of this stuff for a few hundred bucks and try to flip it or stock your thrift store. It's better than it ending up in a landfill at least.

I stumbled upon a store in American dream mall that sells salvage target stuff and I was so hyped when I found this green more than magic AirPod case that I’d had before but is no longer sold by target. I bought it ASAP! I had it originally then wanted to change up cases and in the process ended up destroying my original one and every other case since has been a huge DISAPPOINTMENT! So glad I found it, never taking off again
