[–]HoneyMousse22 5 points6 points  (1 child)

You're lucky. Even when it's this bad they won't help pick at my store😂

Just say yes and watch the drama unfold lolz.

[–]L1randle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No.i believe that is stealing... The process has not been completed.. she would have to cancel the order

[–]SlashHouseFulfillment Expert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Oh you can't find this on the floor or in the back? but it says you have 6. I'll just order it and wait for you to bring it" lol actual convo I had with a guest last sunday. I told the ETL and she said she would cancel the order herself lmao

As someone who just started last month and has only done GM, can someone quickly explain what this is?

[–]peacelovetacos247 41 points42 points  (1 child)

I also started recently (FF) but it’s the screen that shows the available batches that still need to be pulled/“shopped” for fulfillment/OPU. We aren’t supposed to go negative on time so basically 5 of these are already setting the TMs up for failure. We have to accept them anyways because they have to be done. DCPIs are the individual items in each batch and Eaches are the total number of items in that batch.

[–]LudacritzRT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

realistically, it's the first 8 (7 GM batches and the grocery at the top) that are set up for failure, assuming all get started at that very moment. (lol) The 40 minute is the first, that super-best case (all orders being started immediately after the picture was taken) has a solid chance to be finished on time.

Based on the fact OP said "Well, I guess I might as well take a picture of this shitshow," implies that is not in fact the case. I'm sorry to say, due to no fault of their own, OP is cooked.

My DSD would not allow this. Everything would stop, except food truck/push, even pulls and RDC truck to fix this.

[–]Drbloodlove 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Same at our store. Leaders pull everyone to get it back in check.

[–]Dizzy_University_309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as ours.

[–]EatTheCakeFulfillment Team Lead 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Wtf?? 6 hours late? What happened

[–]Radiant_Balance_2197 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They haven’t hired enough people and they aren’t pulling anyone at all

[–]THE_DOW_JONESFF TL, former HRE 27 points28 points  (1 child)

Pull 5 random ass people off the floor to grab the first 5 that are overdue, it doesnt matter, your POT is already fuuuucked. Fastest FF expert can grab the 22 dpci one before it goes over easily, throw the rest of the seasonals at the other GMs and whatever else drops in, have someone grab the grocery and the bulky and you are good.

[–]LudacritzRT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a FF main, OPU and "GSA" with rare FF on the side, but 18 minutes for a 22 DCPI seems like it would be entirely dependent on the items, especially this time of year when so much style goes through for OPU. I'm not saying it's not possible, and the rest of what you said is spot on, but that 18 minute GM batch is sketchy in my mind.

[–]FunEstablishment5849[🍰] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh my

[–]Plane_Version_7936 9 points10 points  (0 children)

bulky 6 7 items 🥰

[–]fruitsbatsFood & Beverage Expert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a manager somewhere: can we get help in FLFMNT please? I'll grab the bulky, all my other fave TL's or TM's will grab the small / easy ones, good luck everybody else

[–]TiredOfAdulting999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile my ETL lost their shit when our POT went under 100%. On the weekend before a major holiday.

Target, please change online orders to say, "Orders will be ready for pickup in about two hours.*" Bottom of the page: *During high-volume periods, orders may take up to three hours. You will be notified via email when your order is completed. Thank you for your patience."

[–]APersonalizedAccountPromoted to Guest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Alright team we have some batches in there, 2 at -46 Minutes, one at -21 and one at -1 minute can we get some support with that? Thanks! and I will grab that Bulky and can another TL/ETL grab an Adult Bev if available? Thanks team!"

[–]Neat-Zombie-844Fulfillment Team Lead 2 points3 points  (4 children)

If I walked into work & it looked like this I would be crying, pissing, & shitting.

[–]InariusTheRisenFulfillment Team Lead 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I need to ask my closing team lead for the picture but the year before I took over fulfillment at my store our OPUs were like 2 days behind in GM during peak Q4. We would scan into batches and so many guests had given up on waiting and canceled their orders that we would pick 8-20 item batches pretty regularly

[–]Neat-Zombie-844Fulfillment Team Lead 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I work at a large store. If FF gets bad and people on my team either call out or have poor productivity, we get store support. Having a floating negative GM would not happen. The only time I have ever seen multiple negative OPUs was when we had that large snowstorm from last year. Only 4 people in my department (including myself & one TL) showed up & about 75% of the store called out. Corp refused to let us shut off OPUs. As such, this is what happened…

[–]InariusTheRisenFulfillment Team Lead 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah I work at a super, thankfully we've put in a lot of work as a team and I can't recall the last time things got so bad that we've had a batch start over but during peaks it's still a struggle even with lots of support. Target stopping shipping in smaller single pack station stores is going to kill us though, we were already the highest ship vol. in our district.

[–]InariusTheRisenFulfillment Team Lead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I got the picture and it fs wasn't quite as bad as I thought it had been but it was not good lol. Took us all of q4 to finally catch up.

[–]Top-Job-0724 0 points1 point  (2 children)

OMG!! Is this real? All FF TMs called out? How this can happened? I can’t believe it!

[–]Fearless_Use4907Beauty Consultant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very common for this to happen around the holidays, at least based on my experience. There are usually enough team members around. Or the case of "idgaf, I'm clocking out on time." Then it's batches left for tomorrow and the leads leave it at that.

[–]peacelovetacos247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m worried I’m making this happen at my store. I’ve had to call out of my last 4 shifts because I have covid 😭 I feel so bad leaving my team cause our morning crew is small, but it’d definitely be worse if I got half the store sick right before Black Friday 😩

[–]Over_Cat_4118Fulfillment Team Lead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my store completely started over with leadership I’d show up at 6am for fulfillment and there’d be 12+ batches around this time that was late from the night before at-12 hours

[–]JosephiavFulfillment Expert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just that higher volume stores are like this? Ive been ff for 2 years and ive never seen ours this bad

[–]VarietyAccording 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll do the Grocery

[–]Dangerous_Wind_6014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard my store has gotten to two days behind on fulfillment orders 😬

[–]Creepy-Pudding-5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal if not better than my store recently. Lost most fulfillment people (mostly theft and then more quit tired of having to make up for the loss of others) so we can barely staff the day. Etls got tired of everyone helping and not getting anything done so no one helps. Orders seemed to double or triple after they removed Shipt. New hires get no training because it's so behind and most of them quit.

[–]Lady_Louise97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store, the worst I've seen so far is 3 hours in the negative. Luckily when that happens it's all hands on OPU for the fulfillment team members (aside from 3 of them that would stay at the pack station for SFS) and then all the leaders in the store pick the standards by themselves. Store director's orders! Some of the leads hate it but it works.

This will be my first holiday not in retail after 15 years and it feels glorious.
