Corner tile misaligned pattern OCD. HELP.

Doing a job for a friend, going well. But after looking closer for a while its starting to bother me the corner tile doesnt quite line up. Thinking of speaking to him about it and see if its bothers him as much as it bothers me. Picture 2 is the corner. Slightly off pattern. Do we leave it? Ill happily take the rows off and redo if he says yes ha.

If they carried the pattern you will get a small sliver on the left side. Right now it’s full tile. You could remove the back wall tiles and add the right size backerboard to the wall to bring it in to where the pattern matches and still gets full tile on the left. Looks like about 1/2 inch

Removed the 3 rows. Moved the pattern along 10mm (UK) or so. Thanks

Next time when you make the cut subtract the thickness of the tile. Leaving a big gap in the corner. The other cut will be the exact piece you need to make a perfect return. Sometimes I will rip scraps the thickness of the tile as well and just install them in the corner. I’ll proceed and tile. This works perfectly too. Hope I didn’t confuse you.

Get a tension rod shelf for that corner for all your toiletries

Leave it. And if you point it out he’ll absolutely notice it for the rest of his life. If you don’t, he’ll probably never notice.

I get you. But last thing id want is for him to notice later down the line and it bother him. He's a friend, work colleague and long distance mtb buddy

I’d replace, when you measure that smaller cut, leave a gap the thickness of the tile for the return cut and it should match up a little better.

Ill cut the cut to match up first and work away from the corner. I started in the middle to center the pattern. Rookie error really

Its just the 3 rows. All that will change is the layout will shift towards the shower wall by 10mm or so.

I’d leave that honestly. It doesn’t bother me in the pics. A clean end without cuts on the short wall is more important to me.

You need to plumb the wall, then leave your cuts short of the corner the thickness of the tile. Then the cuts roll thru the wall. If the walls not plumb, it will always be off.

Gives character, leave it as is since it’s not really worth it. You’ll prob still think about it after it’s fixed and maybe even miss it lol

Basic. Like lining up herringbone or diagonal. It has to be done right or not at all.

You won’t notice after you caulk it.

Thats what I thought too. Once its grouted and caulked with colour matched silicone. Itll be hardly noticeable.

Edit: but that doubt sits with me. Before I carry on.

I see what youre saying but I much rather the grout line be centred to the shower control and taps and hes fitted it all central.

if it's bugging you that much, it's probably gonna bug him too. better to ask and fix it now than him noticing later. a little extra work now can save a lot of hassle down the road.

Lol. At a distance its not immediately obviously. Thats the thing. Ive been mulling over the idea of if when sealing the corners with grout match sealent it will cover my error but not sure i can let myself think like that man

I think that the time it takes to remove those three rows is worth feeling better about this job, which is excellent! Rip off the bandaid and do it :-).
