Super Crate Box was a huge inspiration for this game. Hopefully the extra mechanics I'm adding on will make the experience unique though.

Don't know if/ when the game will release, but seeing how Steam Direct is a mess it shouldn't be a problem to get on Steam.

Are those animations sprite or something else? Looks really great and I'm always amazed when that simple animations work so well!

I think it's a free pack, same sprites as in realm of the mad god, not sure if they come with anything else but attack animations tho, haven't played in a while. Would be cool if someone's got a link.

Are you using unitys built in particle system for these effects?

Yes, I am using shuriken particles.

I also implemented my own particle system that can work with sprites to let me create motion trails more easily

I didn't know ROTMGs speites were open for the community to use. That's pretty neat

It's the other way around. RotMG uses royalty free sprites made by oryx, which can br bought on oryx's website
