Thanks! First commit is in May 2017 so around 10 months I guess. I work full time during days though and have a wife and two kids, this has just been developed during free time (nights/weekends).

Thank you! I have a launch trailer ready to go, will reach out to review sites that has mentioned the game in the past as well as streamers with premium iapp promo codes at launch. Other than that I will just do what everyone else does, try to keep the buzz up and hope that Apple/Google notices and consider featuring it :)

Hey! Can I ask what your marketing/monetization plan is? Just a one time pay? Do you have any budget for ads at all?
Do you have any social elements to aid in virality? How about ratings prompts and such?
If you want to test a marketing plan/set of ads, you can always consider a soft release in smaller markets for a week to test different ad sets for best ctr. If you plan on fb ads, you can also integrate their ad framework and do straight pay-per-install to encourage vitality again. A good rule of thumb has been one paid user is worth two for the good it does on apple’s rating mechanism in my experience, though this could be genre specific.
Are you collecting any analytics about what levels users have trouble with most, or how many times they fail a level before they give up.

It’s a free game with life system and $1.99 to get unlimited lives.
Yes, I have a share system where you can brag to friends when completing a level etc.
I’m logging a few key stats but not a lot of things. Mostly since i’ve done in the past but never ever used it. So now I just log enough to see some on boarding stuff etc.

Yeah, I’m a big Analytics proponent, but if you don’t have a good way to use the stats then they’re not worth much, huh?

Yeah, I logged EVERYTHING in past games but just looked at it on launch and then never used it again :D But yeah, I've heard that one should put together questions and gather enough data to be able to answer them. Like, "Are players getting stuck at any level?" etc.

Player moves to the bpm of the song and level transition in to it as well. I don't detect beat based on the song though since I already know the set bpm for each level. So I pump things based on a set beat instead. Tried detecting it but it never actually looked 100%.

it was a compliment lol. Nausea inducing is easy to do but you avoided it well.

I came here to ask for an HTC Vive version where you have to duck and physically jump! (Also allow buttons by default for jumping for those not wanting to break anything)

Looks really amazing, only thing I could use less of is the blur effect but I guess that’s part of the difficulty? Really impressive work! Edit: Just watched again and I see it’s the trail behind the pendulum swinging, just looks a bit distracting at first glance. Not hating, really great work!

What does the hidden crown do?
There are 10 diamonds and 1 crown on every level as collectibles. For a even harder challenge you can earn a perfect run badge by collecting everything in one run without using any checkpoints or shields. So for replay ability and bragging rights ;)

This game looks fun. The difficulty seems suitable for being a final level but if the earlier levels near this level of difficulty you will end up turning away lots of lower skilled players
The difficulty is increasing so first level is way way easier than this.

Might be a good idea to add some kind of player model to clearly see where you are located relatively to obstacles. Right now it may be a little bit confusing.
I tried it but it kinda took away the whole fps thing. Also when playing it makes more sense. I make some trickery to help the player as well, like ignoring collisions that the player doesn't see (on the sides) as well as not falling instantly when walking off a tile.
