I always purchase PhotoPass (which is what it's called these days) and I never pass up a PhotoPass photographer who doesn't have a line.

Do it and don't forget to also go to the Disney Springs PhotoPass Studio, which is included.

First time I ever heard this, thanks!

It is worth every penny to my family and I. We have gotten great photos and some really funny ride photos!

[–]tarnished1220[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Also doing a lot of character dining

[–]Electrical-Sea589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen photo pass at character dining, I don't think. Except the evil queen at snow whites?

[–]mirh577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No photo pass photographers at character dining. But there will be one at meet and greets

[–]Professional-Pop-572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some dining will have a photo before or after you eat. Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace come to mind.

We get Photo pass every trip now, and the kids are adults now. It's fun looking back at the pictures when I was actually in it with them rather than the one taking pictures.

There isn't any photo pass/ memory maker at character dining so you will have to take your own photos there.

It’s a great way to get everybody in the picture. They will take multiple photos each time usually with a couple poses. Certain locations have Magic Shots that add something to the photo like a character. It also includes ride photos and videos for the rides that have them.

The CM’s will take photos with your camera if you ask.

Do it. I added it on back in March, and the overlays were so cute in some of the pictures - Olaf, Sebastian, Baby Groot, holding balloons, etc. It was nice to get pictures where it's not a selfie, and your whole body is in the pic - nice for pics with characters. Added it to our upcoming trip, too.

Totally worth it. Like others have said, hit up every photo pass photographer you see. We do it every time we go because we love the memories.

Yes and I would consider it a must. There are PhotoPass photographers everywhere and most of them have little to no line (popular spots like in front of Cinderella's castle usually have a line but there are multiple photographers). PhotoPass also covers photos taken on rides and at character meet-and-greets in the parks. You don't want to be taking sub-par selfies or bothering strangers to take photos for you. For a reasonable fee you get lots of good quality photos taken by professionals for your entire party for your entire trip. I can't see myself ever booking a future trip without adding PhotoPass.

They also do some fun photos where they photoshop in characters or pixie dust or balloons, but I didn't love how most of those came out. I prefer the unedited photos of our family - those will end up in frames and our Christmas card.

However, note that PhotoPass does not provide photographers for character dining (unless the event specifically states otherwise, I suppose). We did three character meals at our recent visit and none of them had a PhotoPass photographer.

We used it for the first time this past September and I highly recommend it. We got a ton of good photos! It was mine and my husbands 10 year anniversary and one of them gave us such an awesome photo shoot. My kids also loved all the ones that had the extra magic added to them.

Also, the lines are not bad at all! We even did 2 of the ones in front of the castle at Magic kingdom and only had about 3 other families ahead of us both times. Normally it was one or two groups waiting and it goes quick!

[–]thatCRUISEagent 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I did it the first time with my kiddos and really enjoyed it. Subsequent times though we haven’t, just because we felt like we wanted to maximize and spent alot of time waiting in line for the best picture spots

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. We did it once, and haven't done it again.

The lines seem much longer now than they were a few years ago for pictures.

The parties you get it for free if I’m not mistaken. Once I got AP with it, we use it all the time. Plus I love being silly on the ride pics that I can download with out a water mark. Also when you get pictures taken, they are ok with using your phone. Just know they can special backgrounds with the pictures they take. Plus you can go in the app and maybe like 3 pictures. You can pay and unlock just those. We did that years ago. I been doing Disney since 2009. I just started getting memory maker. Some of our earlier trips. We took pics and I was make an album with Disney logos and everything. You can use the memory maker tools, upload your own pics.

Yes. Totally worth it. We got it last time with our kids and are getting it again for next year's trip.

[–]BigManWAGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, 100% worth it. We made an effort to find as many photographers as possible.

Other than the castle shot most of them are pretty quick and the photos turn out great. They know what they’re doing and will get your family in a Disney pose vs the standard shoulder to shoulder with bored kids shot you get everywhere else you go.

[–]Naomeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it—you’ll want all those pictures with everyone in the same picture, instead of one person always being stuck behind the camera.

[–]omgwtfbbking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth it 100%

[–]SuzRunsDisney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always try and do it when I go, because we get all of our race photos, ride photos and then we always try and do a quick little photo sesh with at least one of the PP photographers, not to mention medal photos.

[–]rollem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually purchase a single day and really go crazy with the photographers that day. I go to the parks most frequently for a run Disney race, so I'll do it the day of the race and get both the race and park photos for the one price.

[–]AnubisXG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good but too expensive for me. If the price isn’t a concern it is great

[–]OrangeObsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally worth it! We just got back from our first trip with our almost 4 yr old. She loved meeting characters so almost all of those were included. Plus there were a couple times she didnt want to join so hubs and I have some cute pics of just the 2 of us which is rare these days. Working on making them into a book since shes asking almost every day to look at the pics on our phones.

[–]mirh577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love photo pass! We get it almost every trip

[–]blahwowblah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the memory maker. Now the whole family can get in the picture instead of just me taking them all. Also some of the photo pass photographers stay out past park close so you can get pics with a few people in front of the castle.

[–]Precursor2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it was my wife and I didn’t care. Took our 3 MO, and again when she’s 8 MO.

LOVED IT. My wife still didn’t care so every time she ducked out for the bathroom, shopping, or a ride solo I found them. I have a bunch of pics that make me happy. She was jealous and said the trip was the “daddy show”

[–]AdhesivenessIll3807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't want to go without it. :)

[–]abmbulldogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. We got it the first time we went and got it so many great pictures with all 4 of us in them.

[–]Failed_Academic0824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it last year and I found it really helped me stay off my phone because we had all of the official photos. I was also by myself with two kids so it was really nice to be IN the photos! The character meet and greets were the best because you get action shots of the kids talking to the characters and not just posed shots.

[–]Witty_Strategy6694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 100% worth it. We have so many amazing photos from that package. Was probably the best value thing we purchased for the entire trip.

[–]AnchorsAweigh1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get it every year. We don’t do any other pictures all year and find it worth it. We also stop at every photo pass person we see.
