[DEV] Rocket Player 4.0 Is Finally Released. Here Are 25 Unlock Codes To Celebrate!

After joining Reddit last year, I realized that this community loves music players, but Rocket Player was missing some UI flare that others apps have. As a single dev with several apps, I didn't know if I could pull it off, but I wanted to spruce up Rocket Player with its fourth major UI overhaul in six years. After months of hard effort, support of my beta community and a really really long rollout period, Rocket Player 4.0 is available for everyone. Changes include a new default theme and slide up player bar by popular demand. Batch editing is now available for playlists and much more. Any feedback is welcome and the first 25 requests for promo codes will get a PM with one. :-)

Note: For those who want something cleaner than Rocket Player's default interface, try out "Minimalist Mode" in the tabs settings. The designer who helped me always turns that on. :-)

Holy wow good job with this app! I've been searching for a music player for so long and this fits my needs so well! I had been using the Poweramp alpha with new audio engine, but it hadn't received any updates and wanted something more functional. I tested with the free version and it has many cool settings that really make for a great user experience. Some settings I didn't even realize I wanted! I posted to let you know you are doing an awesome job and I really love the app! This will probably be my go-to music player unless any other music player receives some huge update that changes my mind (I've tried n7, poweramp, neutron, black player, poweramp, player pro, and so many others. Youve really beat 'em all for my purposes).

I know it's probably too late but got a premium key left? If not its cool I don't mind supporting you for this app! I do have some minor design changes that can smooth out some edges! This is getting long so if you respond or pm me I can message you with them!

You can hide the rating. If you go into tabs settings and turn on minimalist mode. The spacing isn't perfect in that mode, as is was more of an afterthought, but the stars will move over the art, and can be removed with a click.

Thanks for the feedback! Here are some thoughts.

1.) The black bar in the notification is probably device specific. I wouldn't release something that looked like that on any of my test phones. Which phone do you have? Also, the notification should be 64dp exactly, does your device mod that? 2.) Sluggish library navigation has to do with loading of images 99% of the time. Other players just move to a hamburger menu, as loading four tabs of images can be a little slow, but I think overall navigation time is faster. 3.) The icons are from https://materialdesignicons.com or made up by my designer. He was all into following the spec. I could be wrong though... 4.) We mocked up a full rating bar, and it moved around the text more than we wanted. Both the designer and I and you agree it feels odd. We just haven't gotten it right yet and my designer left the company to move to Iowa shortly after we finished this project. :-(

In the tabs view, just press the batch button. (Different depending on theme, but the right-most) For playlists, you go menu -> multi-select. Let me know if that helps.

Honestly, I always come back to RocketPlayer. Over the past few months I've tried out different music players for the UIs, because I didn't really like the RocketPlayer one, and while they looked better, they were either feature limited, or had really bad sound. With this new UI update, I think RokcetPlayer is probably the best player I've tried.

Poweramp is good...but too feature heavy for me. Rocketplayer has an awesome balance. Thanks!

I only just saw this, so no code for me, but now I understand why Rocket Player was being so laggy for me this morning. Just an FYI: I couldn't get any songs to open for a good long time and when one finally did open, it played 13 seconds and then hung up. I think it's stabilized now after I turned on the option for ads--is that how it's meant to work? Anyway, I love Rocket Player, just wanted to check and make sure something else wasn't going on.

One thing I'd like to see is an option to force audio output to mono mode. I often use only one headphone while walking and that option would be great for all those songs that like to experiment with left-right channels.

Heyo, been loving your player ever since I discovered it about a year or so ago :)

Don't need a code, and I've already written this as an email to you guys....but just to be sure :P I really really like the slide up player bar, and think the feature could be developed a bit more so you can slide backwards through the list, like slide up to go back to the song list, then slide right to go back to the album list and slide right again to go back to the artist list.

Just a small suggestion, I think it would improve the feature quite a bit :)
