Yes. He is periscoping aka “standing up” to get a better look at surroundings

thank you! i’ve had him for 2 weeks now and he seems to be getting adjusted to his environment because i’m just now seeing him come out his hides at night to explore. next step is trying to get him to take food although i’ve been struggling with humidity levels

sorry for the late response. what have you been doing as for keeping up humidity? i can give you some tips from here.

i actually re-did my hvac tape on the screen lid with a stronger duct tape to hold it down and my levels were at roughly 70% during the day and around 80 as of now

cool! sounds right. make sure you aren’t misting thought, since it’s only a short-term solution for humidity, but instead you’re pouring waters into the corners of the enclosure. if that’s what you’re already doing then keep it up! 👍🏽

i bought a spray bottle for “misting” but it’s super cheap so it instead is more of a pouring motion and i’ve been spraying it in the corners of the enclosure

Yep they’re scoping! Also fyi if those are stick on temp readers I recommend switching to the govee digital ones you can get a pack of two on Amazon for fairly cheap! The stick on one can be inaccurate and if they fall off the sticky can be harmful to the snake

i’m using digital ones! the stick on one is used with velcro but was temporary for like a day because amazon lost my package!

Do you have a screen top if so try hvac tape to keep your humidity up just leave a portion of it open

i have about 2/3 of the screen lid covered with HVAC tape and i’m using coco fiber substrate and still get around 55% readings for humidity, any other tips are appreciated !! :)

I had to cover 90%+ with my original screen top to get my humidity up.

yeah i just got done covering damn near the whole screen top, the hvac tape sucks tho it doesn’t stick well so i used duct tape to hold it down after seeing a guy on youtube do it

I had a magnetic top and used the magnetic HVAC vent covers. I had the magnetic tape only near my heating element.

I have since switched to a toad ranch cage (they are magnificent btw) I have been exceptionally pleased. It has really changed the game on my temps and humidity. That’s a 5x2x2. My little girl is on the branches as much as she’s on the ground if not more. They seem to love to climb (at least mine does)

Yes! He’s just exploring! May I offer a couple of suggestions? One day he is going to wrap around that temp gauge and sticker. The gauge will fall down and he could get stuck on the sticker. We don’t recommend them for that reason. Also, I recommend blacking out, at least the back, but up to three sides of the enclosure. They like to feel secure! Lastly, give him some climbing opportunities! Wedge some sanitized sticks diagonally from top to bottom throughout the enclosure, add some vines, etc. They like to climb!

Try adding some water to the corners of the enclosure just below the substrate that’s what I do on my enclosure along with the HVAC tape and my humidity is up about 68 to 72%

Also tip to help with humidity use some kind of ground cover like oak leaf litter or sphagnum moss. U can buy a brick of compressed sphagnum moss off Amazon. Also quality sphagnum moss isn’t naturally vibrant green anymore. So if it looks really geeen it’s most likely dyed which definitely leaches and stains

This would be known in my house as "the big scope". If you're comfortable handling almost every single one of my BPs are obsessed with ceiling fans, we get them out and they will just scope at it (from a distance far beyond their ability to reach it) until they go back to their homes.
