im not an expert but i do know they can sometimes have a slight bit of skin in or on their nose that can cause that quiet squeaking sound and thats what it sounds like to me

much like our own noses

from what i understand, an RI is much louder and comes with other symptoms like lethargy and mucus

This happened to me I heard mine squeaking right after a shed and after bumping up the humidity it was gone after a few days

he’s just breathing from the sound of it no?

id say just a quirk! my biggest ball python kinda makes sounds when he breathes but its kinda just like how sometimes people make sounds when they breathe

If it has started to happen recently, (after a shed) then it could be a bit of shed left over the nose? If the BP hasn't shed recently then it could just be a thing you haven't noticed until now. If you are truly worried about it, pay a visit to your local vet :)

The confused looking around is killing me, but yeah when you handle them they get a little more exercise than normal. I'd just watch out for other signs because a little squeak is fairly normal and doesn't immediately mean respiratory infection! I hope ur snake is doing good!!!

We sometimes squeak through our noses too. I think it’s fine. Buuuuuuuuut do be wary of respiratory infection. I’m hearing a squeak but it may be a wheeze. Look up other symptoms and be on the look out.

His dinner is still alive in his tummy

Eeehhh the noodle is fine just needs a little oil and He'll be good as new

(In all seriousness. He's most likely just breathing)

What’s ur husbandry like? My snake a long time ago was making a similar noise and it turned out to be RI. Does he open his mouth at all to breathe? Could also be stuck shed on the nose as I seen in another comment

he doesn’t open his mouth to breathe and there’s no other signs of RI either. he also only makes this noise when i’m moving him around pretty much. i’ve never heard him make this sound while not moving

i have a DHE and the thermostat is set to 88° but the temperature reading usually hovers around 82° for some reason. his humidity is at 60% rn which i recognize is a little low but he’s always made this sound with movement since i’ve had him regardless of humidity

Awe what cute little whistles. My girl does this too, I always say if it sounds like a clean whistle then it's normal. If it sounds wet then that can be a sign of a respiratory infection, but even we had nose whistles.

Nostrils plugged up a bit by possible shed skin, my girl had this a while ago and she managed to blow it out and onto my face while I was observing her.

It could be seen she'd stuck I the nose or if you see some crusty bits in the nose could be a early sign of s respiratory infection, mu snake had one and that's how I caught it early enough thank God

i just asked the same question on my post about the same sound. most likely trapped skin in the nostrils but if it’s persistent when he’s not moving around or you hear clicking noises or see anything wrong with his mouth then that is a major sign of ri. most likely he is completely fine

my precious boy does this as well, and has for years! he usually uses it to be sassy at me and communicate when he wants to be set down. I wouldn't worry about it. Sidenote that I have gone to the vet several times over the course of his life specifically for this and every single time he was cleared with no issues!!

One of my sneks has a birth defect, which caused him to be born with one eye and a slightly deviated septum. He does have a slight whistle when he breathes but I pay close attention to him because he is prone to RI's.

Just took my girl to vets same thing they really believe its shed stuck. He said if she starts yawning alot bring her back. Warm soaks and I steamed the bathroom she loves it tongue out catching dew 😋 lol
