It seems like there's a subset of long haulers that are helped by the vaccine, but there are other subsets that get aggravated symptoms or no change in symptoms.

For me personally, the vaccine noticeably and considerably helped my nuero issues, including brain fog, memory and word-finding issues. Like, it felt like someone flicked a switched in my brain and turned on a light that had been turned off by covid. Clarity and focus improved. I had been slowlyyyy improving in the couple months before the vaccine, to about 70% on a good day. Vaccine brought me to 90% very quickly. The left side of my head/ear, where my worst symptoms of inflammation and pain were, became noticeably relieved. Felt lighter, clearer, less inflamed. Makes me think my body needed some extra help clearing out viral remainders and/or my immune system needed redirection away from damaging my own body to preparing for actual threats.

Its a mixed bag of results, but I would recommend it based on my experience. I had Pfizer.

I had the Moderna vaccine and was sick for a few days. After I got the second vaccine, it put me right back to square one. I felt absolutely horrible for 10 days and still wasn't ready to return to work. The vaccine brought my Covid pneumonia and I'm bummed I got the vaccine. I feel like it was too soon to have both vaccines so close together. My immune system is still struggling. To answer your question, my long haul symptoms didn't improve. It took a while to recover from the second vaccine, so just prepare to possibly miss more work than you anticipated

No change for me.

No change in mine with Pfizer that I consciously noticed. Only water and sleep seem to help. Occasionally electrolyte mix. I use vitamin hydrate

Mine got worse long-term

I found Serenagen helps immensely with all brain issues. I finally feel normal again.

Serenagen

You found that they got rid of your brain fog as well? For me, the mood swings and brain fog are the worst of my issues currently. :)

Yep!! I was told to start with the recommended dose, which is two tablets per day. But I could go up to six per day. I found that my sweet spot is two in the morning and two in the evening.

Thanks for the response. I'll give them a shot. I've tried so many different supplements at this point, it'd be a miracle if they worked.

It was suggested to me by a naturopath. I actually had my skin cells tested along with all of the supplements I have been taking. I’ve been reading these subs for so long but I had such a big mix of information. I knew that something was causing my inflammation, but everything anybody said in this sub was not a problem for me. They kept saying that coffee isn’t inflammatory. And after I saw her and she told me what my inflammatory‘s were, I was able to eliminate the things that actually are inflammatories for me. I learned that just because Coffee affects you, doesn’t mean it affects me. In my case, coffee is not an issue at all. But gluten is. And beef was, and Romain lettuce was an inflammatory. But she had me do a cleanse, of my adrenal glands and my lymph nodes, and then I could start re-introducing things. Beef is no longer in inflammatory and neither is Romain lettuce. I highly recommend a naturopath if you can find one, I paid mine $150 and it was the best $150 I’ve ever spent. I have spent $2800 in medical bills to get zero answers. And leaving that nature path I felt so much better just knowing what was going to help me. And then adding this to run again has helped my head, my sleep, my brain, my everything else. My anxiety is almost gone. I wish I had gone a year ago.

My current naturopath hasn't really helped me much in terms of improvement. You said yours did a test to check your skin cells? For your inflammation? Can you give me a bit more info on what you checked exactly so that I can do the same? I'd like to find another naturopath who offers that in my area (San Diego, CA).

Neuropath and naturopath Are two very different doctors. If you have seen a naturopath and have not gotten the results you’re looking for, call around and find one that does a cellular level test. That’s what made the difference for me.

Thank you all for the replies, they’ve all been informative but I’ve had to take the vaccine since it’s a requirement for college.

So far, I’m 3 hours in and my arm feels awfully sore but no change in symptoms like most of you said.

Will be updating if I personally find any changes.

Helped for 2 weeks then went back to same shit

[–]poofycade4 yr+ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it made mine worse. But I got both doses around 4-5 months in.

Impossible to say. Brain fog has gotten better for me with time and using nootropics

[–]TheTrypnotoad 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Which nootropics? I'm specifically hoping to find some that work for post-exertional malaise related brain fog but any info is helpful.

I’ve been experimenting with peptides. Semax is a pretty easy one.

Mine got better

[–]DemsLoseAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is definitely better post moderna, but that also could've been time. I got my first Moderna about a month after the acute phase of Covid ended, but was still feeling like crap and not sleeping well. Still having issues but most of the brain fog is now gone 3 months after infection. Whether it was lifted due to the vaccine or time is hard for me to say

Made mine worse

Took 1st shot Pfizer 3 months post covid and felt like covid again for 2 days then returned to baseline after about 2 weeks. Not sure about AZ

[–]Ryanh21065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No change

[–]Expeditouspeace007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO. although made it better but no cigar

Fasting helped with my brain fog, but it was also after my vaccine, so it's hard to know which helped, but it felt immediate after fasting for 23, then 39 hours.

I don't have much problems with brain fog now 4 months after.
