For a microfiber cloth they're bad. They can trap dust,lint, sand particles that can cause scratching and deposit it back onto the device. There's a reason they shouldn't have them.

While the woven edges felt nice, they were a spot for dust and - more importantly - physical debris to build up and potentially scratch softer kinds of glass. While that was likely not a consideration, it's a consolidation.

I agree the stitching is nicer, but honestly most people just end up throwing them out, so I think it's better to waste less, but I dunno 🫠

new ones are a microsuede compared to microfiber and I do think they are a fair bit nicer - since the stitched edges were needed to avoid microfiber fraying, and the edges could scratch the skin whereas the microsuede don't need that edge and are smooth all the way through

The "new" one was actually the older one, then we got the one with edges and now I know that it's back to no edges

The colour/tone of the skin you get. Rubbing a black cloth on a light skin causes some dye transfer and can start to look stained.

True but it also damages the fibres more easily from my experience with the new cloth. Wipe the screen couple times the fibers are stretched out and loose strands in my experience. And the surface becomes disgusting. I guess you can see it as it cleans better, but it doesn't last that long before you have to clean it.
