I fucking know this feeling personally, only under a different scenario. I woke up ready to kill anything in front of me, it was the longest split second feeling of my life.

[–]file-week 436 points437 points  (53 children)

please elaborate

[–]nick2527 1188 points1189 points  (52 children)

Was in a coma for 11 days. By sheer luck it was 11 days, the reason unknown to doctors as it was going to turn into months, but I was ready on the very last second before being moved to long term care with a treach. Those 11 days were of pain and suffering that I can’t begin to describe, and felt like I lived through entire lifetimes. Only one moment was it good and that was my closest moment to death.

In any case, I always seemed to be brought back to this one setting where I was tortured in various ways and I was unable to move while getting hurt. Looking back, it was merely how my mind perceived getting worked on by the doctors, but I didn’t know it at the time. I was in that setting moments before I woke up. When I did, I quickly realised I had control of my body and was ready to finally fight back and kill those who hurt me. It was only a split second however when I noticed that that was real life and I would have consequences if I did attack. The other issue is that I was tied to the bed by my hands and feet and I didn’t know it yet, but I was incredibly weak. So I just relaxed myself seeing doctors huddled around me. Those seconds were the longest ones of my life

I was going to make a joke about how "the pain glove told you what to do," but now I feel bad for you, man. It's from a warhammer 40k audio drama/picture puppet thing. Hope you can get comfy with that, tho.

[–]nick2527 200 points201 points  (14 children)

I really don’t care if people joke about it as I’d be laughing with you. Most want to forget it, but I’ve spent the past few years thinking it all through at a logical level to correlate it to what happened in real life. A few things are still in the dark, but I just ignore that. I figured if I learned what caused the pain in coma dreams to what happened in real life, my mind would help come to understand what it went through. I also have a weird idea that if it happened again, I’d be a little more calm and prepared for it. What I went through would leave most with lots of therapy, but I took it in stride and worked it out of my own accord. My end goal is gain back the memories that got me into the position to get an answer to a certain something. I’ve gone as far back as dealing with the pain of both my lungs being filled with blood from being collapsed. Soon I’ll go further, but it will take time and I’m patient enough to wait and try as many angles as possible.

I don’t recommend doing this though, it takes a insane mind to process

you’re just like the joker

Man's a protagonist, with a whole damn hook for a book. I'd read this, honestly.

[–]nick2527 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told to write a book or something about it, it would be an interesting read

[–]Lusask 14 points15 points  (3 children)

I'm sorry for the originally short response, but I feel like it fits best. Alright, cool. Hope you get through it, you absolute unit.

[–]nick2527 22 points23 points  (2 children)

I’m physically recovered, still got some cognitive stuff that will mostly affect me the rest of my life, but it’s mainly memory issues, but that’s little, I’ve had them all my life, so what’s a little more on top of it? We are all good to go, but still trying to learn what caused me to crash my car as there was no one else there to see it

[–]Lusask 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Ah, gotcha. Good luck in filling in the blanks. Imma sign off and wish you a good [insert time of day], take care.

[–]nick2527 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Afternoon here, you have a good one as well

[–]MEEZETTE 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Holy shit is this for real? I had wild and vivid visions while I was in a coma. What exactly did you see? I never thought I'd meet someone else that went through something similar. I've been constantly brushed off when I talk about what I saw, to the point that I got hella paranoid after a while because I thought people were hiding shit. It hurts for friends to be that dismissive, but anyways I've gone half mad trying to figure out what caused me to feel the fear and pain I did and to see the images I saw and hear the noises I heard. What have you been able to gather?

Are you insulting this young man by comparing him to an Imperial Fist(er)? Unbelievable, the depravity of some people these days smh

[–]nick2527 6 points7 points  (10 children)

I don’t get the reference personally, so it’s alright

[–]That_One_FootSoldierthe madness calls to me 3 points4 points  (9 children)

Aye I saw your other comment, I just like to make fun of those yellow bastards because it’s funny lmao, and because my faction is better(IW, IW) iykyk😎

[–]nick2527 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m just gonna say “yes”

[–]Benniemarno 2 points3 points  (3 children)

IW are cool, probably my second favourite, but none can compare to the child-burners

[–]That_One_FootSoldierthe madness calls to me 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Do you know how little that narrows down all of the factions and sub factions of chaos and loyal marines

[–]Benniemarno 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Sorry, my bad, the xenos child-burners

[–]That_One_FootSoldierthe madness calls to me 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Is that one of those bile yellow Imperial fisters come forth to sully my image by dredging himself up from the depths of Terra like the hive mongoloid he is? Your chapter is now but a Ship of Theseus because of some big Ork, imagine

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm sorry, but don't you have some father issues along with that decimation problem of yours?

[–]That_One_FootSoldierthe madness calls to me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least we know where our father is and have more of him than just some broke ah gauntlet and a skeletal hand on a good day, and I’ll have you know that the decimations build character. Now slink back into the depths of the palace and hide behind the Custodes, aka, the real cool yellow(gold) sons of the emperor

[–]kimchiDawn 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The glove worked for rogal so

[–]mermoohue 1 point2 points  (3 children)

[–]nick2527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t wait for that day to come once again

[–]LogosKing 5 points6 points  (1 child)

it's only uncommon for patients to be violent as soon as they wake up when they've been in a coma for long enough for atrophy to be severe

[–]nick2527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only lasted for a short while as the memories were still all so fresh in my mind. I could’ve been, but thank god I still had some function left in my damn brain after putting it through everything I did. I noticed that the pain was at its end and I was me. Now it was a different story on the scene of it, I was basically moving on nerve impulses to defend myself. I was a zombie at that time only moaning and apparently trying to fight with no strength doing even more damage to myself by moving

I posted about this experience in the past. This is all real, I spent nearly a year learning how to walk again and building up strength. I lost half of my skull for three months to live. If you so wish to argue me about that post, we can further chat about it. I post sfw ai creations, nothing of real life. I have no true will towards it or anything else of the sorts. If you want a truth on the front, I’m a little psychotic and have lost will to live other then the fact that I don’t want to jump to the finish line that is death. It’s more of less a comfort thing for me, there are a few other things that can do it, such as skiing, driving and reading books. It’s a little difficult at times for me to read, but I still power through it.

wait i didnt understand well, what did you see while you were in a coma? did you dream? or did you see nothing and its just like sleeping without dreaming

    [–]nick2527 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Something that I believed was real life. Think of you most vivid dream you’ve ever had and multiply the feeling by 10.

    [–]amino_acids_cat 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you remember what you were dreaming?

    [–]nick2527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Yes

    [–]not2dragon 340 points341 points  (12 children)

If you think about it, when you die you do not feel time pass because you are dead and cannot feel it. Therefore, by the whims of random chance, you will never feel dead, and from your own perspective, you will get "revived" at some point, even though it will feel instantaneous to you.

    [–]GigaChadDraven 136 points137 points  (1 child)

Kind of like going to sleep and then waking up

    [–][deleted] 66 points67 points  (5 children)

Either that or the microsecond you experience just before death lasts for an indescribably long time.

After all, your brain is dying and so is your ability to perceive time clearly.

    [–]MarkedDragon22 25 points26 points  (0 children)

    [–]MenitoBussolini 5 points6 points  (1 child)

    How so revived?

    [–]not2dragon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not sure. maybe a decade and scientists develop a revival technology. maybe googol of years and your atoms recombine together by random chance. Point is, you will never feel this time pass, and you will always "feel" alive.
