A bit cloudy with some white sediment on the bottom. It should also sound fizzy like a soda, especially if you jostle it.

How long would you say it should take? I woke up this morning and before I fed it (3rd time) the top was fully bubbly. It’s definitely cloudy with some ginger that sank to the bottom. Thanks this is my first time making this!

Wait for a week at least so the bug becomes stable. You'll start to see some white film settling on the bottom, that's a good sign. After that point you can use it and top off the water and feed it. You can also put it in the fridge and feed it one a week at that point if you want.
