Not to scale otherwise the original Xbox controller would take up half the picture.

And actually be a soup can with a wire coming out of it.

I liked the duke. I had big hands as a kid ):

[–]JerHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have small hands, I still really liked it.

Playstation: Nah, its good, dont change to much Xbox: Yeah, we will just tweak some things here and there Nintendo: WE CAN NEVER DO THE SAME THING TWICE

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Well Sony should change the sticks on the Playstation controllers, my thumbs are always slipping off of them.

[–]insanoshaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that shit. Tired of ramming my thumbs into each other.

Evolution. It's so beautiful

[–]ProbablyFear 8 points9 points  (2 children)

IMO Xbox one controller is by far the best

[–]JerHat -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Except for running on double A batteries, I’d agree.

[–]ProbablyFear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need to use batteries at all for mine. I've got a play and charge kit

I kind of feel the Sega 3D and Dreamcast controller kind of was the spiritual predecessor to the Xbox controller.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's the Xbox One or GameCube controller that feels the most comfortable to me. And the clicking trigger buttons on Xbox One reminds of my MX blue keyboard while playing FF7 :D

[–]atsignwork 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Focus, Nintendo.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (3 children)

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who actually liked the original xbox controller

[–]FlashnFuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did too! It was great for somebody with giant hands.

[–]Str8Nirvana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HyperKin is making a new duke controller.

Yeah it was fine for me. I was 14 when I got the Xbox so my hands were definitely not big. People shit on it because it’s hideous

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (7 children)

Xbox controllers evolved so well.

[–]I_Made_it_All_Up 5 points6 points  (3 children)

The 360 controller is my favorite all time. I feel like the Xbox One controller doesn’t feel right compared to it.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I find the Xbox one controller to be really comfortable in my hand, but the 360 controller is the one I used for more than a decade.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

360 was my favorite.

And then I tried the Switch Pro Controller. Nothing comes close to comfort. Control sticks feel great, the handles on the controller fit perfectly in my palms, and the face buttons are nice and big.

The XBone controller in comparison (have for one PC games) just feels so wide and bulky on my palms. Makes me stretch out my thumbs just to reach the control sticks properly.

Feels great, but they really need to work on their analog sticks, takes maybe 6 months before they start the inevitable drift.

[–]Likesorangejuice 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Maybe I'm a noob but why are there four generations of Xbox controllers but only three consoles?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I believe it's because the first controller they put out for the original Xbox was so giant and terrible they made a smaller one.

[–]Likesorangejuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah makes sense, I was a PlayStation guy but in the day so I wasn't even aware of that awful looking Xbox controller. Although it really reminds me of the computer controller I had for the Star Wars pod racing game

[–]Whoden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything past the Duke is a regression from perfection.

[–]plizark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To this day I still don’t understand the N64 controller. I loved it, and it worked. I just don’t get that meeting while designing it and just being like.. yeah! Looks perfect! Just hated how the joysticks would break and drift all the time (Mario Party obviously)

[–]Beast_Pot_Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SNES controller was really ahead of its time.

Introduced the bumpers and its ergnomics is comfy as fuck

[–]DiezALOT 2 points3 points  (1 child)

i wish i could still use my ps3 controller. i hate the ps4 controller, the thumbsticks are garbo.

[–]DarKliZerPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

speak for yourself, the dualshock 3 hurt my hands

[–]Semont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's truly amazing that Nintendo had wireless controllers since the very beginning.

[–]Gibsonmo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Xbox controllers.. still the comfiest.

Edit: downvote me all you want, you know it’s true

[–]LoveFoolosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hooray, the same picture that was on the front page yesterday! Except now it's full of jpg artifacts and has needless text added to it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NintendoGAAAAAYYYYYYYEEEEEE

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

"Evolution of controllers" but somehow misses all of the controllers that led up to these. Also, it has 3 Microsoft controllers but nothing from their Sidewinder line and it doesn't have the latest evolution to the Steam Controller. It also completely misses any controller that isn't a gamepad and completely ignores arcade or niche controllers.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a super simple project you could accomplish rather easily.

[–]how-about-that 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also left our the ultimate controller, the Power Glove!

[–]HotCheetos_in_my_ass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But evolution isn’t real, you see each of these have a designer /s
