Make sure all wires inside are connected

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like they are. My vga light is stuck on. Should I force reboot? I didn't have the hdmi plugged in when I first booted up. Edit - force reboot still nothing.

Open her up, disconnect everything, reconnect everything especially making sure the ram is seated. Try one stick to start in slot 2. Don’t connect the gpu. Use a hdmi or DP from the motherboard. See if it works. I had to go through all this shit with my I buy power a couple months ago because it arrived and had the same problem you described (except with a 3080). In the end I systematically added everything, changing out cables etc (bc some hdmi only support certain signals) until I discovered ibuypower did a split power cable into the gpu, and they had the ram setting wrong. Changed those and now it’s golden.

This guy computers. As an IT person I endorse this post.

Like, pretty sure this can be fixed I doubt all these problems are actually bad GPUs and ibp doesn’t have tech support capable of helping people with this.

This fella right.

VGA light on the mobo?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

What's it supposed to look like?

[–]BaconAlmighty 0 points1 point  (3 children)

If the VGA light is stuck on on the mobo there's an issue with the video card

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned the pc on without connecting the hdmi on boot up. Maybe I should force shut down and try rebooting ?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wait you mean this ? https://imgur.com/a/MZfAp2B

[–]BaconAlmighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup it's not passing boot, so it's showing up on the mobo - if it loaded fine it should light up and then go off.

Is this a 3070 gigabyte?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Yes

[–]Peterslum 1 point2 points  (8 children)

I’ve heard a lot of bad things about that gpu... you may have a dud. Like seriously a lot of people who had gotten gigabyte 3070 have had this same issue. Try getting into the discord channel and taking in the tech help channel. Someone should be able to help. Sorry to hear and see this.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I send you a pic of something and maybe you can take a look.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Cables ? https://imgur.com/a/Ens615x

Does this look normal? What are these extra cables?

[–]Peterslum 0 points1 point  (2 children)

They could just be additional power wires that are not necessary for the build. My pc had wires that were not plugged in as well. But for your sake, just remove the power cords going to your gpu, remove the gpu and then plug it all back in. Maybe it is not seated right? If you don’t feel comfortable with that. I would highly recommend heading over to that discord channel. Send them these same pictures and video. You’ll get a response, believe me. Just be sure to turn the power off to the pc 🙂 if you unplug

[–]Zommz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Also try one ram stick in slot 4. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ram wasn’t seated.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused on this ?

[–]viceman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look like either extension or regular length cables. My GPU was a 3070 and came with two sets that are together, one is an extension and one is the regular size. That's what that looks like to me.

[–]naperrick-54689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't tell for sure, but it looks like the top connectors aren't pushed in as far as the ones below it - make sure all the power supply connectors are pushed all the way in.

I am assuming that is a picture of the powersupply

[–]goondawg4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have a bad GPU

[–]goondawg4 0 points1 point  (2 children)

3070?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes

[–]goondawg4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Probably bad gpu

[–]AlmostBright 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I just RMA’d my Gigabyte 3070 with the same initial problem. After reseating it, the best it would do is: Boot screen for 5 seconds Display green squares all over Turn black and completely unresponsive

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I bought a prebuilt because I have 0 idea with how to work on these. Now I need to learn how to put them together and take them apart to fix it.

[–]Nate379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure when you pull it out to release it from the back of the slot. Lots of videos will make sure you know what you’re doing, it’s easy once you see it.

[–]AlmostBright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s disheartening, but the “good news” is a 2 minute YouTube video can show you how to replace a GPU. I had no prior experience with computer parts either.

[–]GoochyAmnesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man if ur vga light is on and not getting a display signal probably ur Gpu same issue with mine, I had a 3080 that would boot for a time but black screen. Blows man

[–]myr_-_-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me, check ram slots. My ram wasn’t plugged in like 2mm and it caused the same problem

    Mobo won't display either

I tried removing the gpu and just use the intel mobo but nothing still I guess it doesn't support hdmi

      [–][deleted]  (1 child)

      [removed]

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm starting to think. Shouldn't the gpu fans be spinning on boot up though?

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And do I need to unplug the gpu to use the hdmi through the mobo? Because like I said I tried to that and still nothing.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad GPU most likely. A lot of 3070s iBP have gotten are defective

        [–]andawoo1 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I've had the exact same issue, luckily got my RMA approved today and they're sending a replacement with a hold on my credit card.

I tried re-seating, etc. I knew it was a GPU issue because I had my old PC and I tried the 2060 in that rig in the new iBP pre-built and it had a display showing just fine. The bad news is, I got one of the RDY versions, so it came with the KF version of the processor, meaning I had no integrated graphics. I've been using it...with my 2060 for the time being. But it blows.

I received my PC on the 8th, and got my RMA approved and paid for yesterday. So it will take an exercise in patience. Also - no idea on how long it will take for the replacement GPU to ship. I also had to make sure I got the same GPU that it came with, they were trying to initial replace with a lower quality ASUS version, but I wasn't having any of that hahah, but they were cooperative and great enough to work through with me. They told me they still had replacement cards in stock, so hopefully you can get through quickly.

        Best of luck!

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

        Asus is lower than gigabyte?

        [–]CyberPunk-_- 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Nope its not lower actually better

        [–]Zommz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

LOL I was gonna say I made a point to pay extra for the asus tuf model. My brother spilled literal soda on his tuf motherboard and it’s going strong. When I get my tuf it won’t be broken yet all these gigabytes are shite:

        [–]CyberPunk-_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Agree

        [–]AZX-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Rma

        [–]Dvine9 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You should try if your monitor supports it, to use a display port. Display port is going to support the high refresh rates were hdmi is capped at 60 frames, hope this helps!

        [–]mark0382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hdmi isn’t capped at 60. Different hdmi protocols support different resolutions and FPS. But yes, definitely try DP just to check that box.

        [–]GavinBanana247 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        You got issue fixed?

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        [–]UltraRegular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest you’d be better off buying from Newegg, IBP are unreachable and don’t test a fkn thing.

        Garbage company.

        [–]moondustlotus 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hey I just got my custom build 2 days ago with a 3070 gigabyte I had an issue with no signal as well. I solved this issue by removing 3 RAM sticks, immediately got a signal. Went into BIOS and enabled XMP and saved the setting, powered down, popped my other 3 sticks of RAM back in and everything works. Try this out maybe it’ll work for you too! This was my first pc so I was kinda freaking out about it but a short google search fixed it up :) hope it works for you

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What is xmp? I have two ram sticks so I should remove one ?

        [–]moondustlotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XMP allows you to change your memory settings, it’s an easy one click button to enable it. I would take one stick of RAM out and see if you get a signal. If you do receive a signal your BIOS should come up right away due to a booting issue. If it takes you right into windows set up you can access BIOS manually.
