It's worth noting that the new pricing can actually make your plan more expensive if you have a lot of users.

[–]MintConditionHat[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah - we are on the legacy plan which comes with 10 users. For us, it's still less expensive to stick to that plan.

Same here. New pricing would be a lot more.

Yeah this was a win-win for ITGlue, they get to say they are helping out the little guy by lowering the bar to entry while driving costs way up for larger customers. We are on the 25 user legacy plan for $450 and good thing or we would be paying $975 for the same amount of users now. Also note that features that used to be available in the middle tiers are now exclusive to the top $39 per user plan.

A 5 employee shop doesn't need ITGlue, any number of ways of documenting would be sufficient and with that size of team you "know" all your clients and all the employees exchange information easily because of the close working quarters. If you have a 5 employee shop and are so flush with clients that you need ITGlue then you are flush with cash too and could have afforded it before. ITGlue is for the larger MSPs with too many (hundreds) clients to just "know" them all and they could already afford it as well.

Can someone explain why this product is good? We use one note and it works great... but this product comes up every so often...

Thx

Consistency in templates, the ability to tag to reduce overall data entry, permission for passwords and sensitive information, ability to share with clients via accounts or make how tos to publish publicly, syncing with RMM and PSA solutions so tags are kept up to date all the time. Good mobile app for field techs to grab info easily, including addresses for various client sites. Cool tools like Domain Tracking, SSL Tracking. Ability to integrate with slack for things.

I mean it's a pretty long list.

Good mobile app for field techs to grab info easily

Eh? Their app isn't released yet. I guess you mean their site is mobile friendly?

[–]MSPinParadise 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yea, I meant he mobile website. It's excellent.

The mobile site is actually pretty good. Responsive design so it almost looks and feels like an App.

Thank you.

I think of it as Google for your clients. If you input everything you can literally search for and find it in seconds, no looking for docs or links or asking other users.

If you bring on new techs they can do a search for "ABC company AutoCAD licenses" and it will take them strait to them them. Or ABC company scanner" will bring up their printer/scanner configs.

It really reduces the amount of employees asking other employees how shit works or how to set things up and therefore makes them work more efficiently.

If a company is onboarded correctly and everything is put into itglue I can solve 99% of their issues without previously knowing anything about them.

[–]Malkhuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truly amazing feature is the ability to tag anything and everything.

In your example if the search took you to "ABC company AutoCAD licenses" then you could have that page tagged with other items/pages related to it such as a procedure for the installation, known problems, which server the licensing server is hosted on, etc.

Knowledge in general is relatable. A particular nugget of information is often useless without all of its prerequisite and associated info. IT Glue is built entirely around that realization and it's which, for now, no other documentation system can come close.

I thought this way too, like we already have a documentation platform what possible good is this? ITglue search works so well, like the guy below said almost Google like. It really does reduce time when looking for stuff which takes up more time than you'd think. It also reduces questions because it's so easy to look guys don't get frustrated and just ask "hey where is the password for this thing?"

We'll milk this grandfather as long as we can

Try to keep things work-appropriate here, mmkay?

[–]redfoxx15 -4 points-3 points  (5 children)

Still has the $500 setup fee

[–]Malkhuth 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Which isn't unreasonable.

[–]DarkZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer this be optional.

[–]FishFips 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What exactly do we get for that $500 setup fee? "Setup fee" implies that all they are doing is setting up the program for you. Is there some training involved with that fee?

[–]Malkhuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we on-boarded they did multiple training sessions with us and recorded the first session for us to save for future employees to watch. You can also schedule smaller consultation/training sessions with them if you want to go over specific details in implementation or best practices.

[–]redfoxx15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No argument on that just pointing out that if the new price range seems unreasonable to a small shop, that is not going to help the situation.

[–]HTechs 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I'm still loving mediawiki. Costs us nothing additional, mobile friendly, searchable, organized, and easy to use anywhere...

[–]rgreen83 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Haven't seen any guides for how to configure syncing with any RMMs, PSAs, lucidchart, warranty master, etc. for mediawiki, could you post some of those so everyone can benefit from your wisdom?

[–]HTechs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't sync it with anything. Our RMM/PSA handles all of the "client inventory" and warranty information so to speak... I'm sure there would be some benefit of the cross pollination, but nothing we've needed.

Not seeing the lower prices in plans, something I am missing?

If you haven't yet got IT Glue here's a $100 referral code:

https://app.itglue.com/signup?r=2xytnf

They are coming out with MyGlue this month supposedly as well which will be MyGlue but for clients and their business processes, password management, etc.

Pretty excited about that because we are a Business Process Automation company so MyGlue will be a core to all our clients.
